I think the bigger name bands play at the Main Stages however. Thursday night is a perfect night, not too busy. Friday night is still great but Saturday does get really really crowded so get your spots saved early on that day. I must applaud the Security Team this year. Last year I had a few pesty drunks bugging me, since I am a magnet for that type but this year, while sitting with my friend Ron, a drunk started bothering him, and within a minute, Security was right on it! Bam! Get out of here! It really made me feel good that they were very visible this year!! Thank you to the organizers who arranged this fine security group!

Tanner responded very quickly and assured me it would not be a problem. Upon arriving the staff was fully aware of the situation and very accommodating AND made me feel welcome. The venue itself is beautifully decorated and feels relaxing. The sound was great. Im very much looking forward to coming here again.

I'm so glad I was finally able to experience this venue. Parking is easy with free ramp and street parking next door to the theatre. Our seats were right in the middle of the center section. The steepness of the seats was great in that the person in front of you never blocks your view. Drinks were available for purchase and you can bring them to your seat. Staff was super friendly. It felt a little odd to see a 'Queen' concert in a theatre when I felt people should be up dancing and singing but the band did a good job of engaging the audience and the last few songs got the crowd on their feet. The main room (aka Mattson Room) has a great wood dance floor and you'll see things happening here in the afternoon (line dancing, square dancing, etc) and then bands rocking out in the evening. The 2nd room, is the medium size room. Here too I've seen all sorts of great bands play and it too has room to throw down your dance moves or just rock out. The 3rd room. Wow. This room is tiny and it is where the metal bands play. It is loud and it'll melt your face. They also offer food and drinks are way cheap. We'll come here to watch Vikings games. They have both a kitchen that offers salads and burgers, and the traditional bar frozen pizza. You're not getting a Heggies here but you will get a Jakeeno's. In the Twin Cities, this is the only place I know serving up this variety. You need a place to watch a Vikes game or the Wild? This is the place. Drink specials during Vikes games too!

And my Sister met a man there later whom she has never met before, that ended up a very rude and quite loud and obnoxious person when he kept drinking alcohol! Myself and my date was a witness to his behavior that sprung out of control! He was getting too fresh with my Sister that kept pushing his hands away! He kept using cuss words! And yelling where's that bartender? And I would say to him if you want a drink? Go to the bar yourself these two bartenders have been working so hard in this heat all day long!! Well he didn't like that and started screaming at me! I then told the man that it's not the bartenders job to come to the table .. It's his responsibility to go ask for his own drink of choice, He grew more angry at me for no reason then he got our bartender Joy involved and was making things up that I had never said? I don't even know this man.. My Sister was just texting with him for a couple months on some date site.. And asked him if he wanted to meet her.. He came to the bar and seemed really hyper.. My Sister.. my date and I were still very respectful and nice to the man until he sprung out of control, And because all of that took place my Sister, date and I were asked to leave because Joy the bartender didn't want any more loudness.. We respected that and I was about to go get my Sister and date and let them know that we have to leave the bar .. and just when I was about to go get my Sister at our table... That man came back to see my Sister at the table! I thought that security asked him to leave? But he came back to to try to talk to my Sister.. I wasn't at the table so I didn't hear what he had said, Neither did my Sister or my date because he was screaming! When that man had walked away from the table he came right up to me real close and looked like he was very angry.. I didn't say anything and I went to our table and took my Sister by the hand and walked out the door.. I can't believe the man that started the feud wasn't asked to leave also? It was a very sad and shocking night for my Sister, My Date and I .. We never have been treated so disrespectfully ever at any place of business!!

I hope that by adding this review I might help at least a little to spread the word and attract an even wider audience to their performances. I've been enjoying their concerts since their first year (1999). They've moved around until finally settling on Hopkins High School as their venue of choice. I ask that you not roll your eyes and think of your old high school gym with the bleachers extended for a band recital. This is a very good concert hall with excellent accoustics, comfortable seating and clear sight lines. Guest artists over the years have included, among others: Gordon Goodwin, Arturo Sandoval, David Weckl, Phil Woods, Paquito D'Rivera, The New York Voices, Peter Erskine, Wayne Bergeron, Joey DeFrancesco, Bob Mintzer, Slide Hampton, Randy Brecker, Eric Marienthal, James Moody, John Clayton, Ernie Watts, Fred Sturm, Bobby Shew and Terell Stafford. They often feature local and regional artists as well. Do yourself a favor and check out this stellar ensemble. Then, once they've blown you away with their sound tell others. I want to see this group not just survive but thrive for years to come. Tip, the Lone Spur Restaurant just down the road stays open late for an after show dinner.
