I was very much looking forward to a comedy performance tonight. I bought the tickets long ago and was so excited. This review is NOT about the performance. It is about the horrid sound system. Imagine paying premium for a ticket and you can only hear every other word. Of a comedy performance!!! Not the audience fault either. It was the spotty, in and out sound. I will never go back to this venue again. What a waste of money. I was so disappointed.

I was here to see Nurse John's comedy show. The venue is historically beautiful. Although they thought the lobby was small when people were trying to buy concessions and show merchandise. Not to mention, the VIP folks were trying to check in too. The staff members that I encountered were helpful and friendly. If you have been to the Orpheum down the road, it is basically the same - same parenting company, just smaller venue.

Our kids got us tickets to the Phil Rosenthal, Somebody Feed Phil, show at the pantages. It is a very nice theatre. Very much like the orpheum theatre. There was good security while entering. The ushers were very helpful finding our seats. The show great. We had a very fun night!

We went to the Phil Rosenthal, Somebody Feed Phil, show tonight. We had great seats. I've never been in this theatre. It is a beautiful theatre. Very similar decor as the Orpheum. We had a really nice night at the show.

Wonderful theater with great sight lines and acoustics. Middle sized compared to other theaters in the area. Staff is nice. Seats are old but mostly comfortable. Better than some places.

Small seats but somewhat comfortable. Bee Gees tribute tonight. Good show. Staff were not annoying like at the State theater in Minneapolis.

The Pantages theater is an icon downtown and hosts lots of fabulous shows! It's nearby a bunch of great restaurants like Murray's, Oceanaire, and the Union Rooftop. We saw the Potted Potter this weekend, featuring a comedy duo taking us through a creative retelling of all 7 Harry Potter Books! I recommend showing up close to your showtime and not too early, since there is limited space to socialize or hang out. There is a bar serving simple packaged snacks and drinks, otherwise you'll go directly into the theater to your seats. There are metal detectors and bag checks coming in, and the staff are very helpful in making sure you can easily find your seats.

I saw Mike Birbiglia here several weeks ago and here are my thoughts: Positives: The theater is beautiful inside and outside. Very cool interior decorations and a nice old school theater sign on the outside. Also, even though I bought some of the worst seats in the theatre, my view was still great and unobstructed. I could see and hear Mike clearly which I find is a common issue at big shows like that. Negatives: It was horrible weather (negative temp and raining) and the ticket checkers were not moving quite fast. We were stuck outside waiting to get in for a while. The bathroom is in the lowest level so I had to walk down like 3 flights of stairs to use the bathroom which wasted time while moving fast is a necessity for a show! Overall, still really enjoyed the venue and would definitely come back for another show if something interests me.

This theater is absolutely stunning. We really weren't sure what to expect with the Covid situation and so we arrived almost an hour early expecting to experience long waits with showing proof of vaccination, social distancing, etc. etc. We were pleasantly surprised that they were completely prepared with lots of staff who knew what they were doing. They had three bars open so while there were usually lines, the lines were never more than 10 or so people which is saying some thing for a packed theater of hundreds. We had managed to score 3rd row seats, so I would say my only disappointment is that they added two rows of extra chairs in front of the "first row" seating area. Of course, those folks got to experience the fun interactions with the comedian that we had hoped for. Bummer.

The Pantages Theatre is located on Hennepin Avenue, basically next door to Seven Restaurant/Lounge. It has a small lobby, a lot of stairs and the restrooms are unfortunately aaaaaaaalllllllllll the way in the lowest level of the place. Unfortunately my seat was in the balcony. This was my first time at this theatre, I did find it to beautiful on the inside and I enjoyed my balcony view. The seats are angled well, where you dont have to worry not seeing over someone's head, however, they are so close, there wasn't a lot of leg space. ....and I'm short. I would of course come back to a venue here, but it isnt my favorite theater in Mpls.

Beautiful theater. Seating is a bit tight in the balcony. Consession prices are high, but aren't they high everywhere?

It happened to be a Marvin Gaye Tribute night, which was fine by me as I love me some some Marvin Gaye. If you are from the Bay Area, this place is like Yoshi's. I got there early and got the table my colleague picked was up stairs and a good view. Our server was great. There is a little coaster that is at the table that you can turn over for service or not if you don't want to be disturbed while watching the show. I ordered my food while waiting as I know there were two showing and I kind to eat or have most of my food eaten so I can enjoy the show. I started off with the jalapeno bacon wrapped poppers and the focaccia bread. the popper were not big and bulky and had a great smokey flavor to the bacon, which were probably put the on grill and not pan or oven cooked. I'm not a big bread person, but when I am out I'll usually eat and the foccacio was great and I needed to soak up the wine I was having with my food. For the main course I got the Shrimp and Grits, because it's a jazz club and southern joint. Oh my they were good. Just the right amount of spice to the gravy. The music was also great and the ambiance was really good too. I think I'll be heading to Yoshis a little more as it's been years that I've been to a venue like this. A chill way to end the conference week.

We had the chicken sandwich with fries. It was fine but nothing to write home about. As for the shows we have never had a bad show here. The performer's always are into the show and we have left happy with the performance and sound quality.

It was a beautiful way to lose my virginity to this venue. Metal with actual raw pieces of meat and fake blood. My teenage self was on the road to having ringing in my later years. Biggest name for me? Jane's Addiction before they moved to the Main Room and that Lala Palooza thing. Hell, the pretenders played there in 2023 as a warmup place to kick off their big tour and to get close to fans. How kick ass is that? The place holds 250 people. 250! Think about that. Nirvana also played that room before they blew up. The last amazing show I saw there was Melissa Carper in the late summer of 2024. Three piece band. A fiddle player, Melissa on a standup base and a dude strumming on a hollow body. It was one of those shows where the audience was there for the music and there was no chit chat. The music was beautiful and I was rocking ear plugs, even though they weren't really needed for that show. It was f'n beautiful. I can't believe I'm only associated with two photos (at the writing of this review) and I will be correcting that. Cross over between the Main Room is now kind of a pain in the ass as people typically don't do it and staff are a little in the muck but it is what it is. If you can see a show there, do it.

The seats are extremely tight, not much leg room and a bit uncomfortable after a while. I feel like the guides weren't very helpful at getting people to their seats. I I'm still not sure where they label the sections, I had to ask several people and that made some other people realize they were in the wrong seats/section. The lobby opens 1 hr before the show but the doors to be seated don't open until 30 min prior. I suggest getting there 15-20 min before the show starts for smoother entry. You will still have time to grab a drink and find your seats without the hassle of the pre show crowd. It was so chaotic. The drinks are spendy for what you get but they don't take tips so I guess it somewhat evens out. You can request a lid for your drink which for me is a must in these crowded spaces. We played 3 out of 3 rounds they had. We won 2 and lost one of I remember right. We played for free drinks and shots. Even when we lost we got free shots, which was very nice. We ordered food. Everyone got chicken - different flavors & habanero cheesecurds. The chicken was gross, not seasoned, had a very weird taste (the actual meat). The cheesecurds were great though. 3rd time- Went to pregame for a concert. Only ordered drinks. I ordered one of their classic cocktails 'Pourhouse Punch' it was horrible. Maybe missing the pineapple & grenadine. I know it has a lot of liquor in it but it was missing something. I asked if I could send it back and get something else. The waitress said she wasn't sure but I'd probably still have to pay for it (as in they don't take back drinks). After talking to the bartender she said she would comp it and I ordered a different drink. I ordered the 'poison apple' which tasted a lot better. The waitress came back and told be they tried the original drink I ordered and that they agreed it wasn't great. My sister got the 'Pourmans Paradise' which tasted tropical and fruity. Mill City Nights isn't going to be the fanciest, nicest venue you've ever been to for a show. It also isn't going to be all historic like First Avenue. But it is a totally fine place to hang out in the dark and listen to some music. I did really dig the hard wood floor, which was worn in the best possible way. Fun for stomping around as you were dancing. We found the security procedure at the front door to be fine -- Carded us, patted us down not very thoroughly, took a peek into my purse and that was about it. The ticket buying procedure could have been better. Seemed to take a long time. But once we were in the door, no issues. I found the bar staff to be friendly and competent. Security seemed a little intense at times (like, who's going to jump the stage during the set break really?) But whatever. I didn't have to go to the restroom, so can't comment there. Since we were downstairs, I also can't comment on the balcony situation, except to say that whoever spilled a beer on my head sucks. Is it my favorite venue in the Twin Cities? No way.
