The location is perfect, while it can be hectic getting into downtown and parking, I would suggest going green and spend an all day visit. Taking the rail or bus either way you'll be greeted with GREAT music! They have several stages, played at different times in which you walk from one block to another should you feel the need to explore. Food is wonderful! Plenty of FOODTRUCKS and local eatery. BIGRIVER pizza near CHS and farmers market is AWESOME! Not to mention too, there will Art booths set up from local artist. Including myself :-)) Http://DeMeglioart.com I'll be there FRI-SAT It's a place to come and it's FREE, not the food of course!

I think the bigger name bands play at the Main Stages however. Thursday night is a perfect night, not too busy. Friday night is still great but Saturday does get really really crowded so get your spots saved early on that day. I must applaud the Security Team this year. Last year I had a few pesty drunks bugging me, since I am a magnet for that type but this year, while sitting with my friend Ron, a drunk started bothering him, and within a minute, Security was right on it! Bam! Get out of here! It really made me feel good that they were very visible this year!! Thank you to the organizers who arranged this fine security group!

We had him learn and lead a Lutheran hymn, a Beatles song that featured random guests joining in on kazoo, and a John Legend song with my step-sister singing. Not easy requests. He nailed all 3 and it was just magic. The most impressive part was that he worked out the John Legend song with my stepsister who lives a state away completely independently and over the phone. He made her feel at ease and confident, changing keys and chordings to make her voice feel most comfortable. He memorized all the music and played it beautifully. Great communicator, very professional. I am a lifelong musician and needed the music to be perfect for my wedding day and am so happy we went with Victor. Highly recommend.

That means having music you like, played in a way that fits exactly how you walk down the aisle. Looking for a unique and personal collection of music for your wedding ceremony? Are there songs that perfectly define a favorite part of your relationship? I have perfect pitch, which means I can hear the notes in any song and learn it with 100% accuracy. That way I can change the feel of the song to match the ceremony, on the fly. With a real musician, unlike an mp3, when someone in the procession takes an extra minute to walk down the aisle, you don't have to worry about the music ending too soon or being off - you can guarantee your entrance will be breathtaking! You can have everything from Pachelbel's Canon in D to the Beatles, to Wilco, to Norah Jones, Jeff Buckley, to Bon Iver, or music for films like Amelie (Yann Tiersen), and I would love to have the honor of playing at your awesome wedding. Sing Alongs: Want to sing along to music of any decade? All we need is a piano! (Which I can bring) 60's: Supremes, Cream, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Van Morrison, The Doors 70's: Elton John, Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Gary Wright, Foreigner 80's: Hall and Oates, Prince, Michael Jackson, Fine Young Cannibals, The Smiths 90's: Stone Temple Pilots, Britney Spears, The Real McCoy, Seal, Spice Girls

That said, if you like live music as I do), this place needs to be on your list to check out. Back in June, I attended a Prince tribute performance (Nothing Compares 2P) here and neither the venue nor the music disappointed. The layout is great; starting with an elevated staged and just below that is a dance floor and beyond that area is seating (tables/chairs). There are great views of the stage from mostly anywhere in the space and most importantly, the sound system was on point. Because of demand, for this performance, the dance floor was converted to seating and while understandable, other than in your seat, it made dancing virtually nonexistent. So much so that if someone stood up to dance at their table, the staff working the event would quickly swoop in ask them to be seated so as not to block the view of the people behind them. While relatively large, there is a single bar which was well-stocked and staffed when I was there. I am not sure if it the norm, but on the night I was there they had a $20 minimum for credit card use. Also, the only water they were serving was bottled (no cups of water) so be mindful of that. While this was my first visit to the Minnesota Music Café, it won't be the last. I will gladly return here for future performances.

Easy to find, light rail will take you to the front door or there is parking in the back. Food is always good, big portions, menu is limited to apps and handheld sandwiches, but has a fair amount of options to please everyone. Love the servers, bartenders and door staff as well. They all appear to be happy when at work and are certainly friendly and helpful. Make sure you check out the clown bar in the basement!

I was pumped when my upcoming wedding band Clean Plate Club (CPC) got to open here which is my reason for visiting. I'm not much of a concert girly so this was a big step for me. There is a tiny parking lot in the back, otherwise, a few blocks down in the residential streets there is complimentary parking - just ensure you follow the sign rules as it goes by odd and even sides based on the date. To lead with parking confusion is why I'm giving this venue 4 stars. Walking as a single woman for a night show by University is not something I would ever suggest unless you have a buddy with. For this venue, I would recommend the buddy system or Uber. The venue has a normal bouncer, ID check and tickets can be purchased in advance via the AXS app or onsite. Once inside, the venue is breathable and long. The stage sits at the opposite side of entry and there is a long bar on the side wall, a few tables in the back, and then standing room for most concerts. My friend and I ordered a drink from the bar and then weaseled our way to the front to support CPC. The sound, lighting and stage was the best! We had a great time. Looks like there is a basement here (I never visited it) and that food is served. Also can't speak for this but something to look into. Thanks, Turf Club!!
