I'm so glad Jazmin's bakery is still here after all this time. I grew up going to this place and I love their muffins and tamales! The service here has always been great and the barista/bakers do an amazing job. They have so many different types of pan and other desserts, it's always hard to choose. read more

Stopped here while waiting for my next bus to LA (the train station is a three minute walk away) and felt so welcomed! Came in with my suitcase and ordered myself a tamale and fresh orange juice. The vibes felt like home and the staff was so welcoming. Food was delicious. Would come again :) read more

TOTALLY SCREWED UP MY ORDER ! My best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer on Monday. I was going to spend the day with her yesterday so on Wednesday I ordered a small round cake since wedding cake is one of her favorites. And let's face it, if there's ever a time to "eat your feelings" this was it ! This was to be a very special cake to show her support and to share with the many friends who are coming by to wish her the best on her journey. I specifically asked for buttercream frosting and to have light pink decor in the shape of the breast cancer ribbon and then "Go team Gena" It wasn't ready at 10am as promised, they hadn't started the customization and the person who took the order had selected fuscha instead of breast cancer pink! So I finally get the cake, drive to my friends house and after opening the cake and shedding a few tears, she cuts the cake, only to realize ITS NOT BUTTERCREAM - it's whipped cream which doesn't taste like wedding cake at all!!! So I called them this morning and they tell me they have to pull the order and speak with the girl who took the order and will call me back. Instead of the manager calling me back, the order taker called me back. I told her how special this cake was and what a huge disappointment that she didn't get anything right! She asked if I could bring the cake back and I told her no, I left the cake with the friend. She said their policy is to only give a 20% refund. I don't care about the money but the principal. I ordered an item, it was completely wrong, you ruined a special cake for a very special person and you want to give me 20% back ? Forget it - I don't even want the money but I wanted an apology which was given half assed. She acknowledged the order was buttercream but she delivered whipped cream. The bakery is called Jazmins Bakery 24330 Main Street, Newhall I just want you all to know so you don't trust this place with any special occasions because they don't deliver your order correctly and don't stand behind their products !!! read more

The tamales are pretty good, but near Christmas they are somewhat disorganized on helping. They ran out of all but some pork and Mole'. There wa a good amount OK amount of meat and had good flavor. Would have like to try a few different. If you go here, go early in month or order early in month. read more

I only had a couple items from this place but their TAMALES were NOT tamales. Never in my life have I see a flat TAMALE like a diesel truck ran over it 10 times. I am so dissatisfied. I went during the 4 th of July parade and this is not the best way to attract new customers. Not looking to go there again. read more

I got to the bakery and their was 3 girls in the front one was helping a gentleman and the other one was putting the roll in the front but the third when I got there she wasn't doing nothing so I thought that she was going to help me but instead she started to fix the bread and she said to wait and I said okay then I asked for 5 dollars worth of bolillos and she told me is 6 for $4.50 and she said how much are they really I don't go here for my bolillos I don't know the price and she was so rude and said : Uf lady it's been a while their 75 cent a piece and They said I didn't know you're price but I felt she was so rude the way to express her self . Wife wanted to eat tamales for breakfast, si I took a drive to Jazmín bakery, I wanted to try both the pork and chicken tamales, let me tell you the maza was excellent not greasy at all, if they had put just a bit more meat they would got a 5 star the meat was like spread over the flat tamales on both of them see for your self. read more

We just celebrated two birthdays in one week and placed two orders from Jazmin's Bakery. I had a few questions about decorating the cakes and pricing and Jessica was very kind and knowledgeable about both. I emailed the bakery a photo of what I wanted on the cake while I was on the phone and was able to process the transaction very quickly and easily. Both cakes turned out beautiful and tasty! My mom enjoyed her carrot cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting, and my little brother loved his buzz light year chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and buttercream frosting. The one thing I was hoping for (since I sent a photo) was a round carrot cake for my mom's 50th birthday and instead they gave me a half sheet square cake. It was beautiful but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting to get. I love purchasing my cakes here. Our guests always compliment how delicious they are. Will definitely continue my business with Jazmin's Bakery. read more

Not impressed. Girl helping me was totally distracted takling socially to other employess and messed my order up. Bakery goods were not very good except the rolls. I bought a variety of things, won't be back. Very disappointed because it's fairly close to me. read more

We stopped in during the Light Up Main Street event tonight. I got the strawberry cheesecake and my boyfriend got a hot chocolate and chocolate granache cake. The young woman helping us was quick and very sweet and helpful explaining what everything was. I'll definitely be back for more! read more

I love panaderias (Mexican bakeries) and was already a fan of Jazmin's but the way they treated me this week solidified my fandom. I had ordered and paid for a Rosca de Reyes (description at bottom) earlier in the week. When I went to pick it up I forgot to bring my receipt and they couldn't find their copy. After a few minutes of flustered searching and me offering twice to drive home and get the receipt the girl at the counter just gave it to me. Did you hear that? The girl believed that I was honest, conceded that they may have made a mistake and gave me the item. Unbelievable!! Jazmin's I'm yours!! OK. A Rosca de Reyes is a big Mexican pastry meant to celebrate the three kings arriving and meeting baby Jesus. Traditionally there's a ceramic or plastic baby baked inside for the kids to find. Jazmin's tops theirs alternately with strips of crumbly sugar and candied fruit. Other panaderias top them differently. The French in France and in New Orleans celebrate the same day, January 6th, with different pastry. read more

Read the reviews about the tamales and corn pie and both did not disappoint. I had the chicken tamale and my mom tried the cheese one. While both were tasty I must say we were mostly wowed by the corn pie. Imagine cornbread but drenched in sweetened condensed milk aka 1000x better. Two tamales and a slice of corn pie came out to under $8! Love finding the gems of Newhall and this definitely makes my list. Supporting small businesses during hard times & enjoying amazing affordable treats = dream come true. Will be back soon for birthdays! read more

Fantastic food and baked goods. Small location and customers struggle for seating as only 3 tables are available. If they served cafe de la olla I would come daily. Long lines are the standard here. The service is efficient and the only hold up is usually customers' indecision as to what to buy. They sell out of the good stuff early so be prepared for disappointment if you are an afternoon customer. read more

I"m not defending jazmins, but honestly in a time where people are dying en masse due to Covid, people can't find work, and we have a horrible president driving up cost and making life extremely unbearable, here you are complaining like a six year old about a stupid cake. You're friend doesn't care about the cake. She's happy to have your support.. My cake order was COMPLETELY wrong and I'm still annoyed about it 7 years later after reading others reviews and the same thing happened to them. Placed a 50 dollar deposit for a custom birthday cake with a 5 day notice, come the day it's said to be ready. The cashier says sorry the decorator didn't come at all so we don't have anything for you. I thought I could help out a small business. But that was some of the most unprofessional bs I've ever heard or experienced. read more

Second time coming here not like the first one was great . The tamales are pretty bland and have more masa than anything else. Today I tried the champurado and bread pudding . What I had was definitely not champurado whatever it was it was pretty gross. The bread pudding was so sweet I couldn't take another bite . I had to throw both in the trash . read more

I could not be more impressed with my recent business at Jazmin's Bakery. I was doing a Day of the Dead event at a local school and needed 9 dozen pan dulce (conchitas). They even offered us a small discount to help out a local school and even included some Day of the Dead Bread to share with the students. The conchitas were fresh and delicious and many students had never even tried these treats before and they loved them. I will definitely encourage others to do business here, not only because it's delicious but they also went out of their way to help a local school in the community. read more

Very Lousy service! Pre-ordered a cake and picked it up on the designated date; it was not there, it was not ready as the lady that took the order, a certain Nicole neglected to submit the white copy of the order and therefore it was not made. In fairness the cashier was very apologetic, but apologies is not what business' is made of- it is efficiency and quality. The cake itself was substandard; funny they were actually recommended by Clarice's Cakes but it turned out that they were not as good as they ought to be. Does not matter anyway, a loss of a single customer would not even make a dent in their business; lesson learned though, if it is for something with utmost important- take your business somewhere else as Jazmin's Bakery failed miserably in that aspect. Came in today and bought sweet bread and tamales. I spent $50.30.....Some of the bread was decent, but the conchas were hard on the bottom. Tamales were really dry and not made today. They were luke warm and hard/dry. They clearly lacked manteca. I called the store right away. According to Brenda, the tamales are supposed to be dry. I have tried them many a time and they never disappointed me until today. I was offered some sauce to go on top of the tamales. It was a waste of money! $27.99 for a dozen!! I requested to speak to the manager. Brenda did say Martha would be calling me back in about a week. And she would tell me the same thing " the tamales are supposed to be dry". read more

I have to update my review because Jazmin's Bakery has redeemed themselves. They have the best tamales and pastries in town and every time I went after posting that last review has always been a good experience. They probably got new workers or something to replace the last people, so if you want really good service go here instead of the Way Station. I went there today and they ignored me for over twenty minutes while at Jazmin's I got service right away and efficiently!!! Thank you for making my day!!! read more

Taking her recommendation, we grabbed one of the plastic trays and tongs and began filling our cafeteria-style carrying apparatus with such delightful goodies as the last remaining Vanilla Crème Donut, Croquette (only available hot and fresh on Friday and Saturday), and a Spinach Feta Danish. There were tons of enticing goodies displayed in bright cases throughout, but these were the ones that caught our eyes on this visit. We proceeded to the counter to pay for our food and also order our drinks, which included a Basic Bro coffee, and an Iced Honey Lavender Drink with Almond Milk for my girlfriend. There are several comfortable and colorful chairs and tables inside, with attention to a light, bright welcoming seating experience. The drinks weee made within a few minutes and upon picking them up, I noticed the place had grown in customer-size with 95% of the clientele being women on a mission to enjoy pastries together without judgment. The drinks were good. My coffee was not terribly hot, but it had a nice flavor. My girlfriend loved her iced beverage. The Vanilla Crème Donut was amazing! Stuffed full of delicious vanilla bean cream, the pastry makers didn't skimp on the quantity or quality of ingredients. Light, airy and fluffy, this was a hit. The lattice design and putter crispy crust was appealing but the interior ingredients lacked flavor and warmth, despite being reheated by the Tous Les Jours team. Overall, it was a solid experience. The prices were on par with similar types of artisan bakeries (85 Degrees), but the taste was a bit better for the items we selected. The inside is a shared space with an optometrist but everything feels very cohesive and homey. They had a winter menu with peppermint, gingerbread, and other festive ingredients for your drinks. We ordered an iced ube matcha and an iced regular matcha. We sat in the lounge couch while we waited for our drinks. We originally ordered two 16oz drinks, but mine came out in a 12oz size. We checked our digital receipt to make sure and sure enough they were both 16oz drinks. So I went to the counter to let them know. They took my 12 oz matcha (which looked delicious), and then like a minute later, handed me a 16oz matcha. To be honest, the new matcha looked slightly different in color. I didn't see them remake my new drink, but it felt like they took my 12 oz, put it in a 16oz cup, and just added milk to make up the difference. The ube matcha is great if you enjoy ube. It's sweet without it being too sweet. The green (matcha) and purple (ube) when mixed together will get you a mud color, so take those photos before and after mixing, haha. It tastes great though! The regular matcha was ok. It's hard to rate because of the mix up. I'm not sure if that was representative of their regular matcha, in which case, I do wish it had a stronger matcha flavor. It wasn't a weak drink, but it still tasted too milky. If they did indeed just add more milk to make up the difference in their mistake, then that would explain why it wasn't as strong, in which case that 12oz original drink would've been perfect. While we did sit in the patio, there is a restaurant a few doors down, and one of the workers there comes out for a cigarette break pretty often and the smell does blow over to this patio, which was unfortunate. We also got whiffs from the sewer nearby. Not sure if that's a daily thing but good to know for next time.

The ratio to banana, custard and wafer was on point! Perfectly sweet and layered in such a way that the wafers below the custard did not get soggy.

Stevenson Bakery is a classic mom-and-pop bakery with a cozy, no-frills atmosphere that feels welcoming and local. They open super early in the morning and close at 1 PM, so timing matters. When my husband first stopped by to grab blueberry scones I'd been craving, they were already sold out. The owner was very kind and suggested calling ahead to place an order on hold since the scones can sell out quickly. When we did get them, we ordered a dozen blueberry scones, and they even added donut holes to the box, a really thoughtful touch. The scones are excellent: warm, slightly sweet, with the perfect crunch on the outside and juicy, fresh blueberries inside. I'm in the San Gabriel Valley, and these are absolutely worth the drive (minus 1 star for the long drive). The muffins were a bit too sweet for my taste, so I'd skip those and stick with the scones. Warm them in the oven for a few minutes and pair with a glass of milk!
