    Flan
    Amanda W.

I parked far away and walked. The service was good. I bought a concha, red pork tamale, and caramel flan. OMG, the tamale was delicious, I was going to wait until I get home but the girl put a fork in my bag. So I dug out the tamale from the bag and it tastes fresh and delicious. And the price is very affordable. Two thumbs up.

This place is rippin people off. It's a waste of a money with the tamales they're selling. They sell like a tinny portion of the tamales for 4$ EACH !!! like what!? These people need to be reported! Not gonna lie tho the tamales are fire! But please better this business!!! I really don't wanna stop coming here because of this issue.

3 conchas and ojo de pancha (looks burnt?)

While strolling through Old Town Newhall during the Christmas light show, I noticed there was a bakery and decided to check it out. Upon entering, saw the display with a few individual sliced cakes and the pan dulce. Assortment: in my opinion somewhat limited in comparison to other bakeries I've gone to. They had your usual conchas, smiley face cookies etc but nothing really caught my attention. Service: I must say customer service is very important to me when I walk into a business. And Jazmins Bakery could use improvement. Upon entering was not acknowledged/ greeted, and when I asked for the price of the pan dulce, the young lady (Mayte) at the counter just responded "each has a different price". Like umm okay I was waiting for her to ask me which bread I was interested in knowing the price or she simply could've told me prices of some. Prices: Honestly prices are a bit on the higher end for each bread. Roughly approximately $1.50 -$2.50 for each bread (Vallarta prices bread approx $1-$1.25 each). Plus I got charged an additional $.10 for plastic bag which the cashier did not ask if I wanted. Flavor: Appearance of conchas looked good but bread was too dry, crumbly, lacked flavor and slightly stale. I don't know if it had been sitting too long in the bakery. The ojo de pancha supposedly had cheese as told by cashier but the flavor wasn't there upon taking a bite, instead had a burnt taste. Interior: Decor is outdated, few chairs to sit on but not well lit inside during the evening. The case that stores the bread does not have the best appearance. Not sure if I'll be back but writing this in hopes the owner reads this review and makes some necessary improvements.

The tamales are always good. The green ones are sometimes more spicy than others but nothing mild spicy can't handle.

I had a few questions about the different items involved, including. It's customer and person favorites. Taking her recommendation, we grabbed one of the plastic trays and tongs and began filling our cafeteria-style carrying apparatus with such delightful goodies as the last remaining Vanilla Crème Donut, Croquette (only available hot and fresh on Friday and Saturday), and a Spinach Feta Danish. There were tons of enticing goodies displayed in bright cases throughout, but these were the ones that caught our eyes on this visit. We proceeded to the counter to pay for our food and also order our drinks, which included a Basic Bro coffee, and an Iced Honey Lavender Drink with Almond Milk for my girlfriend. There are several comfortable and colorful chairs and tables inside, with attention to a light, bright welcoming seating experience. The drinks weee made within a few minutes and upon picking them up, I noticed the place had grown in customer-size with 95% of the clientele being women on a mission to enjoy pastries together without judgment. The drinks were good. My coffee was not terribly hot, but it had a nice flavor. My girlfriend loved her iced beverage. The Vanilla Crème Donut was amazing! Stuffed full of delicious vanilla bean cream, the pastry makers didn't skimp on the quantity or quality of ingredients. Light, airy and fluffy, this was a hit. Of equal appreciation and fame was the Croquette. A deep fried ball of deliciousness, this divine savory treat reminded me of a meat pie wi to vegetables, deep fried and ready to satisfy. Amazing! The Spinach Feta Danish was just OK in my opinion. The lattice design and putter crispy crust was appealing but the interior ingredients lacked flavor and warmth, despite being reheated by the Tous Les Jours team. Overall, it was a solid experience. The prices were on par with similar types of artisan bakeries (85 Degrees), but the taste was a bit better for the items we selected. There were plenty of other amazing treats that we will no doubt want to try in the future and this experience left us wanting more.

The Loaf has the same quality of baked good, made with flour from Hokkaido, Japan, having no additives or preservatives. It is recommended that you eat it the day of since it has a shelf life of a couple of days. Talk about freshness! I recently visited my sister and her family and she had a box to share with me. We had the following: Red Bean Salt & Butter Roll: Simple and delicious. Highly recommend, especially to those who like red bean filling. Not to sweet (a high compliment given by Asians when talking about desserts.) Chocolate Emoji: Soft bun with custard inside Amande: Croissant with a cookie topping, topped with chocolate chips. Textures are crispy but not as flaky where it would be a mess. Matcha Azuki An Pan: Earthy tea taste with sweet read bean filling. Overall, I love what I have tried. So, we tried a bunch of items, and the only reason I'm giving this place 3.5 stars is because I think around here it's probably the best you're going to get. The custard buns were 3 stars. Didn't really like the bun very much. Custard was average. Yuzu tart wasn't very good. The pastry wasn't very flaky and the yuzu was meh. Didn't like this pastry at all. The best thing our group had was the strawberry croissants. That was 4 stars. Fresh strawberries and the cream was good and the croissant was flaky and buttery unlike the tart. I also had the matcha tiramisu, not pictured because I ate it but then threw it away. It came in a little plastic cup. Overly sweet and just not very good. That was 2 stars.

The inside is a shared space with an optometrist but everything feels very cohesive and homey. They had a winter menu with peppermint, gingerbread, and other festive ingredients for your drinks. We ordered an iced ube matcha and an iced regular matcha. We sat in the lounge couch while we waited for our drinks. We originally ordered two 16oz drinks, but mine came out in a 12oz size. We checked our digital receipt to make sure and sure enough they were both 16oz drinks. So I went to the counter to let them know. They took my 12 oz matcha (which looked delicious), and then like a minute later, handed me a 16oz matcha. To be honest, the new matcha looked slightly different in color. I didn't see them remake my new drink, but it felt like they took my 12 oz, put it in a 16oz cup, and just added milk to make up the difference. The ube matcha is great if you enjoy ube. It's sweet without it being too sweet. The green (matcha) and purple (ube) when mixed together will get you a mud color, so take those photos before and after mixing, haha. It tastes great though! The regular matcha was ok. It's hard to rate because of the mix up. I'm not sure if that was representative of their regular matcha, in which case, I do wish it had a stronger matcha flavor. It wasn't a weak drink, but it still tasted too milky. If they did indeed just add more milk to make up the difference in their mistake, then that would explain why it wasn't as strong, in which case that 12oz original drink would've been perfect. While we did sit in the patio, there is a restaurant a few doors down, and one of the workers there comes out for a cigarette break pretty often and the smell does blow over to this patio, which was unfortunate. We also got whiffs from the sewer nearby. Not sure if that's a daily thing but good to know for next time.
