Whenever I'm visiting I always make sure to stop by this place for breakfast and dinner. The food is great and the service is top notch. Always liked their breakfast, went for dinner last night and won't be trying that again anytime soon. My wife and I each had the haddock, french fries, and coleslaw. The haddock portion was very small, the fries were cold, the slaw pure mayo. We asked for ketchup for our fries, eventually asked another table if they were done with theirs since the waitress never came back. Will go back for breakfast, no more dinners. read more

Their food is usually pretty good. I was a regular there when I lived in Sunbury, but the place is getting worn down and needs remodeled and lately the food doesn't seem as good. They need to take some pride in the restaurant and fix it up. Maybe they don't have the funds to do so. read more

This location is in a great spot in town, has great potential and would be a wonderful restaurant if these things changed. 1. Endure all crew are using and following food safety policies and procedures - I watched our server grab my toast with her bare hands. 2. Endure said toast isn't burnt. 3. Make sure the burgers being sent out are done to the specification of the guest. 4. Work with the chef to ensure the scrambled eggs aren't watery. Otherwise, it wasn't a bad experience. Really wanted to find something good to say about the food since it took 45 minutes. Had the Biscuits and gravy meal, eggs were rubber, potatoes undercooked, biscuits very dry, and the sausage gravy should come with a warning regarding the sodium content as it was inedible. Decor is outdated by any standards, and if you even think you may have to use the restroom, do yourself a favor and hold it as they are abhorrent. Coffee was good and cup kept full though. read more

We are not from the area. So we stopped in for breakfast. We had immediate seating. The restaurant is very dark and outdated. However, I did like all the antique pictures on the walls. The waitress came over pretty quick to us but we did wait at least 30 minutes for our food to come out. When it finally came out, it came out in stages. Mine was the last to come out and it was probably 5 minutes after everyone else's food came out. They were half way done eating by then. The portions are small. The prices were excellent. Food was ok. Not delicious but not terrible. My father frequents this place regularly on the weekdays and has never had an issue and likes it. I'm sorry to say I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not visit it again. read more

The restaurant is old, has an interesting smell and the decor needs updated, but the seating was immediate for our family of 6, and the service was really nice. We came for breakfast before church. I've lived in Sunbury for all my 32 years and this was my first visit here. The food was WONDERFUL! Our kids all cleaned their plates, which never happens, ever. I had the most amazing strawberry Belgian waffle, and my husband had the sausage gravy and biscuits. He said it could have used salt, but it was really good and you can add more salt. This place is a fantastic little mom & pop breakfast joint. No pretension. No fuss. No muss. Just solid food American menu, plentiful portions (and coffee refills), nice servers and lots of locals. Ive been here a few times. This is a typical American diner. Bad food. Nice service. Old musty interior is desperately in need of updating. Breakfast is tolerable. Burgers are ok. Overall this place makes me feel sad. Really wish I had something positive to say. read more

Decent menu and food. Best thing about the entire place is that it is cheap and usually pretty quick. About what you'd expect out of a diner. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes they are really nice, other times they can be rude. But it's a good place to stop for a quick lunch on a work day. read more

Close this place. No value. I take it back I respect the family or owners too much. Fire the entire staff and get professional courteous people who want to be employed. Mediocre food. Salad was good but everything else was obviously frozen entrees heated up. The floor was carpeted and dirty. There was a hint of animal odor or urine where I was seated. While Tiffany's is not a gourmet restaurant some of the reviews for Jay's seem a little harsh. Yes, it does need updating, but that adds to the charm a little. For those of us that know Sunbury, know that Jay's was once a Dutch Pantry Restaurant. The food is home cooked,and while it is not gourmet cooking it is PA Dutch cooking; red beet eggs, and they offer a salad that is a little different with a sweet and sour dressing. Many of the foods are made from scratch, mashed potatoes and soups, and many other dishes. It is a nice place to stop for breakfast, a quick bite for lunch or dinner. I have never received poor service and have always found the servers to be enjoyable. I have been visiting from out of town for many, many years. read more
