Giugi's has long been a staple in Sunbury. For years, it built a reputation on outstanding homemade bread, excellent pizza, and authentic Italian subs. It was always consistent, family-owned, and the kind of place that brought back great memories with every visit. Since it had been a while since we had moved out of the area, we were craving that signature homemade touch. I ordered the Cheesesteak in the Garden, while my wife chose the Cheeseburger Sub, expecting the same quality we remembered. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. I've heard rumors that the restaurant is under new ownership, and whether that's true or not, the food certainly felt different. The sub rolls were flimsy and lacked the fresh, homemade texture that made Giugi's so special. The meats and toppings seemed hastily assembled rather than carefully crafted, and the overall flavor was surprisingly bland. The savory, satisfying taste we had always associated with Giugi's simply wasn't there. On a positive note, the front-of-house staff was friendly, welcoming, and personable. Their service was genuinely appreciated, even if the food didn't live up to expectations. One thing that caught my attention was that the charge on my bank statement appeared under a different business name, which made me wonder if the restaurant has changed ownership. Sadly, this was a very disappointing return visit. Giugi's was once my go-to destination for authentic Italian subs and pizza in Sunbury. Today, it feels more like a reminder of what it used to be than the local institution I remember. Nice clean restaurant. Helpful, friendly wait staff. The food is excellent. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is their prices, a little over $19 for a large pepperoni. I know ingredients, employees, ALL things are going up in price but that's a little too much for this guy. It's not as good, but Papa Johns is pretty tasty and you can get a large pepperoni for like $13, that's a big difference. Will get from here for a special treat, but not for something like a regular pizza Friday....too bad because it is delicious. read more

This was my 1st time here and brought my mom here for lunch! We were greeted as soon as we went the hostess was really nice! Me and my mom took our seats! The food selection was great! My mom got a Stromboli and I got spaghetti! We both w joyed our choices and had to take some home because we were both full! The service was great! I've driven past this place multiple times but never came here! I will have to definitely come back here! read more

New to the area, we are trying the local restaurants. Needless to say we were pleasantly surprised with Guigi's (pronounced "jewgees") We ordered from the dinner menu, Eggplant Parmesan and Penne ala Guigi's, both served with a salad and fresh garlic bread. Both were well presented and delicious. The portions were generous and we both took some home. Our waitress was attentive and professional and the service gets 4 stars too. This establishment use to make an excellent pie. The last two times I have visited were abysmal. Thick pizza, distasteful, and non-seasoned. The crust was undercooked. I guess the staff wants to go home on time regardless and just complete an order. I felt as if I was eating a lump of cheese with toppings that were not balanced or seasoned in any manner with olive oil, oregano, basil, and balancing it off with tomato/sauce.... things a good pizza are seasoned with to enhance it. This establishment compares their offerings with those of Philadelphia and NYC. Not true. This is a typical central PA joke business that wants to make money and compare their product with that of urban areas such as NYC, and Philadelphia to market their product and make an income. Thankfully the owners are in central PA because of competition and ignorance in regards to the demographic. Not even close to the above mentioned regions. The central PA mentality is; the more I get means the better it is. If you are looking for greed over good taste and quality then perhaps my review will not be sufficient. I want quality over quantity and a well made pie. Save your money and spend it on gasoline to drive to Philadelphia for authenticity. read more

This is our go to place for hoagies!! Their food is always delicious and we have never had an issue. My husband is in love with the crab bisque they have and orders it every time we go. He even got my family into it and now they frequent this place. Would highly recommend. read more

Usually my favorite pizza although my family doesn't like it but they order it anyway for me. Anyway the past two times we've ordered, the order was incorrect but just let it go. This time our order was incorrect and when my mother called to correct the order, the woman was rude to her, then rude to me, then the manager finally rectified the situation after the 3rd attempt. Really upsetting as it's the only decent pizza in the area but we will not be ordering again. read more

Simply awful, I would give zero stars if I could. I'm use to NJ/NY sandwiches so I don't expect much from a PA pizzeria. The chicken parm. was too thick, flavorless sauce and the bread was disgusting. The cheesesteak was no better, where were the onions and peppers?? We couldn't even finish the sandwiches, what a waste of money. read more

The penne ala guigi's is amazing!

Unprofessional staff, harrassed me on the phone, even pretended to be the manager when it was the same girl. She told me that they had personal pizzas, so I ordered 4. I had 4 kids who all wanted different pizzas but they can really eat, so slices was not an option. But when it was delivered, only 3 pizza boxes so I told him it wasn't right. He showed me so I told him what I ordered and that sorry, I had to refuse. I had ordered the penne ala guigi for myself after seeing the review. He needs older staff, the teens are not professional at all. read more

I've eaten here about five times. The pizza is always fresh and tasty. They also offer a great eggplant parmesan sandwich. Sadly they cannot/will not create a pizza with eggplant topping. This is my all time favorite pizza topping. I have stopped going here because they refuse to put eggplant on the pizza and cannot provide an adequate reason for why they cannot. read more

No Italians work there, and you can tell by how bland the food is. The other 3 pizzerias in town are worse so Sunbury is not the place for pizza. They don't know how to make a sub taste good either. read more

In my opinion Guigi's has the best pizza in the area. I wish it was closer to my home.

They keep going cheap on their ingredients. Right now they are using American cheese mix on their pizza and Stromboli. How do I know -try Nardonis pizza, they use American cheese and they taste the same. American cheese overpowers all other flavors and ruins the pizza. I even asked them to put very little cheese on my pizza and it still was the only thing that could be tasted. Too , if you can't tell the difference between mozzarella, provolone and American cheese you'd probably eat cat food thinking it's haute-pate. read more
