We recently needed an emergency replacement of a shower fixture where the copper tubing in the wall had broken, necessitating a shutoff of all water to the house. For a big family, you can imagine how inconvenient this is. Jason, the owner of Jayk's LLC, responded very quickly by phone and was at my house the next day to perform the work. He gave a very candid assessment of what would be needed for the repair, including advice on what parts to purchase in advance. Jason was able to replace the broken fixture without needing to cut through the drywall for access, as another company had said would be necessary. He completed the repair efficiently and quickly and was highly courteous and professional throughout. His price was very reasonable and did not add on any of the service call fees that the larger companies typically charge. I highly recommend this company and Jason in particular. He was very forthright and easy to deal with, and he was exceptionally conscientious in communicating exactly when he would be available, and when he would arrive at the house. We received estimates on a few installation projects from different plumbers in the area. The costs and labor given from the other plumbing companies (even one we have previously used) was $800 more than JayKs. My fiancé said that The other plumbing companies kept creating issues and extras that needed to be done that I knew were not necessary. Jason verified and gave a very complete quote on all work that needed to be done and he could have one of his employees out the next business day to perform the job. Jose showed up promptly at 8:00 am and worked through the day to complete all the work. He worked late even with the issues with a new faucet that was purchased and did not work once installed. He took the faucet off and allowed us to go to the store and purchase another. He waited and installed without charging for extra time. To be honest there were a few minor issues noted and Jose returned this morning to complete. After Jose left I noticed another issue and we emailed Jason and he replied immediately and said he would personally come and fix the dishwasher not draining after the garbage disposal was installed. How does one trust reviews these days with so many fake ones. Well... you find people like me who review all local businesses and get nothing for it. I'm just a family guy living in Durham, NC. This is my first review on Yelp, though I have a slew on Google. Review The work performed exceeded my expectations and I will definitely use them for any future work. - Technician showed up on time (early after contacting) - Technician was knowledgeable and showed experience in his work - The parts and materials used were correct (no Lowes/Home Depot) - Cost was at expected rate - Technician made sure to show me old parts and why they were failing as well as reviewed the repair in detail to me. - Technician left NO mess behind. - Work completed in less than an hour (better than expected). Jayk's Plumbing service is a welcome addition to Durham. With One Call and other big names hiring just about anyone these days (seriously, I've had a guy show up with no tools), its been sorely needed. I highly recommend this service. I called at 9:20 am, submitted my info at 9:40, and the techs were on their way by 9:52.....talk about timely service!!!! Jose and Ethan were absolutely fantastic. They arrived taking Covid precautions (masks, gloves, and shoe covers) but more importantly friendly personalities. I was literally holding back tears. I had dealt with another plumbing company who after they visited I never heard from them again. My challenge was that I'm on a concrete slab; so the space is tight making the scope of work difficult. Not only did this not seem to matter to Jose, he was very intent on making sure the leak underneath my tub (in that tight area - remember I'm on concrete slab) was not only fixed but perfect. Just as intently he went on to project #2. I literally felt the stress lift as he resolved that issue too. The price was more than reasonable and they saved me the expense of buying another tub. I thought maybe I needed to entice them with taking the tub completely out after my experience with the last plumber. I am already planning to use their services again. JAYKS recently installed two new faucets and a garbage disposal in my kitchen and guest bathroom due to the installation of granite counter tops. Jason is THE BEST! He quoted me prior to the installation for all work, but ran into a sizable problem due to the new faucet hose connections not fitting the older bathroom valve connections. As a result, he had to replace the hot and cold water shutoff valves. He did NOT charge me any more than what he originally quoted. I was amazed. I am a retired teacher updating my home and really appreciated this. FYI: save your old faucets and their connections until the new ones have been installed-"just in case" a part is needed and can be used. I also asked him to check the home's water pressure regulator and he explained to me a reasonable time for replacing it, saying it would be good to do but not absolutely necessary at the moment. I appreciate his NOT using the "scare" tactics that some use by telling you things MUST be done at once. ( and then offering a discount if done right then!-always makes me a little suspicious) I will definitely use JAYK'S plumbing again and HIGHLY recommend this company. read more

Located close to where I live, I contacted Jayk's after our kitchen ceiling started leaking badly after a bath in the bathroom above. I have absolutely zero plumbing knowledge whatsoever so assumed there was a pipe leaking and this was about to cost me a fortune. Called Jayk's and he wasn't available but there was a friendly voicemail offering the option to text him so I did that. He replied within ten minutes and said he could make it to me tomorrow but the problem was probably the drain stopper putty needed replacing. I didn't have a clue what that meant (aforementioned zero knowledge) and he explained to me what it meant and how to fix it. I even sent him pictures and had a few questions that he answered almost immediately. The fix worked, I no longer have a leaking ceiling and it didn't cost me a penny (a neighbor on Nextdoor gave me some plumbing putty which was also very much appreciated!). I did offer to send some $$ via paypal or something for the help and that offer still stands as I believe this saved me a decent amount of money and stress. I will not hesitate for a second to contact Jayk's again when I need a plumbing professional! read more

I reviewed Yelp to find a trustworthy plumbing company as we are new to the area, and am very happy to have found Jayk's. Jayk's crew came out to our home due to a clogged main that was backing up into our basement. No fun! Jose was on time, was professional and was able to not only find the cause of the issues, but helped us pinpoint things that will need fixing over time. After replicating the issue, they cleaned out the main, then determined that the issue was our septic system and suggested what the issue was. They were really honest and fair. They charged me for the work done, suggested that I not proceed in repairing a toilet given that installing a new one was needed for just over the same cost (without doing the job twice) and to just call them to install it, and made a few other suggestions for improvements. I WILL be calling them for future work. They were amazing! Thanks to Jayk's (and Jose) for helping my family through a messy situation. They were nothing short of awesome! Jayks to the rescue! Came home late after dinner with a friend to heat water splashing in my garage! Hot water heater done! Sent out an S.0.S for help on YELP. Owner Jason was the most timely in his response and was nice enough to send me his cell phone number for me to send him pictures of my issue. He asked a few more clarifying questions and said he could come out the next day with no problem, which was a Saturday. I thanked him a few times for his integrity and for making me feel at ease that hex wasn't trying to Rob me. This was unlike one plumber I think was trying to take me thru the ringer. Quoted some RIDICULOUS price which was almost double Jayk's. He assumed my tank size, did not ask any clarifying questions but was happy to empty my pockets. I called THREE different plumbing companies before i finally called Jayks. The first company ARS Rescue Rooter wanted to charge me a lot for things i did not need. $3300 altogether. A 2nd company said they would be here yesterday between 3 and 5. They called after 5 and said they would not make it after all. The 3rd company i called this morning and they said they would call back in 45 min to let me know when they could get there. Four hours later they called and Jayks was already here. With Jayks, I called and was asked to text them my address. They texted back in about 10 minutes and said Jose would be there in about an hour. Jose WAS at my house in about 50 minutes and he had a GREAT attitude. He did a great job with a challenging situation. We now have hot water again at a very reasonable cost and we are very happy. I recently purchased a townhome that did not have any exterior spigots. I looked at the Yelp reviews and hired Jayk's based on those comments. I received an estimate that seemed reasonable and hired themto do the work. Their workers arrived at 8AM on the agreed upon date. They were very pleasant and their work was very professional. They took their time and did not rush to get to their next job. The result was an excellent job. As the job progressed I asked for a frost free bibb and they had them on their truck so the request did not create a delay or need to run to a supply house for a different part. The finished price was only slightly higher than the estimate every with the more expensive part and the job took longer than expected because the had to drill through a stone wall. Jose was fantastic - he showed up early to the appointment and was able to diagnose and fix the problem in under an hour. Our pipes were making this low whining sound every time we turned on the water. Turns out it was just a gunked up valve. Jose walked me through the problem, the possible solutions, and went through a process of elimination of what would work (starting with the least pricey). He also warned me about how many people would try to tell me that the water heater was to blame and to watch out for anyone suggesting a water heater replacement as a first step. He also noticed that our water shut-off was in the wrong place and corrected that as well. All in all, Jose was prompt, efficient, friendly, and super helpful! Boy am I glad I went with Jayks! They saved me $2,000! On Monday, 7/24, another plumber in the Triangle (Jordan Plumbing) came out to fix a stopped toilet. He ended up saying that my ejector system (a device for handling waste in below-grade bathrooms) was completely broken but that he could replace it that day, for about $2,000 total. I am so glad I waited until today (7/26) for Jason to come and give a second opinion. You can't imagine the relief I felt when Jason looked at the system and then casually pressed the breaker reset on the outlet the system was plugged in to. The system immediately did its job, expelling the waste into the sewage drain. And now I can use the downstairs bathroom! Instead of paying $2,000, I paid $0. Jayks is legit! My experience with Jayk's was excellent! I had attempted to change out my old rusted faucet and trim and got stuck when a screw broke. I was able to schedule an appointment with Jayk's for the next day. Lou came out and was able to fix it very quickly. He even offered to help me finish with the install of the new faucet and handle. When the new trim kit I bought didn't fit, he offered to help me find a solution. I told I would figure it out and he followed-up with me in a few days to make sure I did get it to work and everything was working. Not only was he prompt, clean, courteous and well priced, but he also took the time to follow-up with something that he wasn't even asked to fix. Short review: Fantastic service. Jayk's is reasonably priced, communicative and does excellent work. Longer review: My kitchen sink was clogged, Jayk's fit me into their schedule and thought it would be a simple matter of snaking the drain and replacing a trap. It turned out to be a bit more complicated, and they took time to really find out what the problem was and fix it properly even though they had other jobs booked. Even though it took probably twice as long as they thought, Jayk's stuck to its original (very reasonable) estimate. And wiped down work areas and emptied containers under the sink that had filled with water and drain cleaner during the clog. I could not be happier with their service, promptness, honesty, and friendliness. read more

These guys are the real deal and awesome!! We wanted to get a new kitchen sink and faucet installed and thought we had an idea of what it would be like and what it would cost. Jayk's was able to come in, give us an estimate and get the job done all in one day. They were very efficient and respectful throughout the whole process. I also appreciate their honesty as they described exactly what they were going to do and how much it would cost. We had even looked into having someone else install the sink for us, but we had a feeling that the quote the other guys gave us and the information they gave us was a little off. Suspected I had a leaking pipe which I feared may turn out to be an extensive repair due to the location. I did a bit of research before finding Jayk's and felt they were best suited for the job. Requested someone take a look at the problem and had a text in less than 20 minutes informing me a technician was on the way. I described the problem to the technician, Jose, who then conducted a thorough inspection. Turned out the problem was a minor one which I could easily fix myself following Jose's instructions. He then left without charging me for the visit. Jose was courteous, professional and seemed to be very knowledgeable. Had a tremendous experience with Jayk's. He was able to schedule me in within two days of calling since the problem was not emergent. I actually sent him pictures and video of the problem via text message and he was able to give me a quote right over the phone. He was prompt to the appointment and, the job was actually easier than he thought it would be so he took $20 off of the price. Extremely honest and professional company! Will definitely be using them again and will be referring them to my friends. Great service - professional, quick to respond, and very courteous. My husband and I discovered a gas leak in our attic late Thursday evening, we called Jayk's first thing in the morning and they sent Lou out to our house in less than 15 minutes. Lou was very professional, he addressed the issue quickly and practiced safe social distancing and wore a mask the entire time. He even provided videos and photos of the repair. We found Jayks via Yelp and contacted them along with three other plumbing companies for quotes over a holiday weekend. We suspected it wasn't a major issue - even though we couldn't figure it out ourselves after a week of trying - so we're pretty surprised to get quotes in the range of $140 to $180 dollars from two companies. Jayks' quote was less than $80 for our issue. Scheduling was quick and easy and the technician arrived on time. The issue was resolved within minutes, and, in the end, the price was less than what we were quoted over the phone.
