He installed the sink and went on his way. The charges were very reasonable for the work. And that's when I became a total idiot... I noticed cracks in the sink's bowl. I called Jayk's. The person asked for a snapshot of the problem. I sent it and (honestly) said I didn't remember if there were crack that large before. A minute later Jayk's sent me a photo of the pre-work sink. Yep... there were the cracks. I apologized profusely and they were cool about it. Apparently the old ugly faucet was all I could notice. So...yeah...I'm a dummy who has become too used to contractors creating as many problems as they fixed. Not Jayk's though - they're great.

The person who answers the phone, Kenny, was rude throughout the process. I repeatedly told him that if any additional work was needed or if the cost was going to increase, I needed to be notified first, and I also requested before-and-after photos. Despite that, I was unexpectedly billed $450. Kenny later claimed there was "extra work because the drain was outside," even though there were no updates or approvals requested while the tech was onsite. The two photos I received showed nothing useful. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unprofessional experience. Poor communication, surprise charges, and rude customer service. I do not recommend working with this company.

My dishwasher hose was leaking at the shut-off valve and I called Same Day to come seal it off for…read moreme. They scheduled for the next day (which was fine, I called at 4pm and the leak was extremely slow) and sealed up around the valve. The charge was $145 but I don't think that's unreasonable for in-home service. It's not like I'd be able to repair the thing myself. Unfortunately the next day I noticed the leak was still going, though much slower than before. The guy came out 2 hours after I called, and this time replace the tubing. He let me know the reason for the leak was because the tube was supposed to have a metal bit inside to keep the plastic firm against the shut-off valve, but this particular hose was installed with just plastic. The replacement for the tube and this particular visit was no extra cost, it was just included in the $145 I had already paid. No leaks since then, and I'm sure I'd use these guys again if I ever have another plumbing problem.

With the impending ice…read morestorm I was testing all the connections, and while I couldn't find bubbles, I smelt gas outside where the connection meets the house. I figured it was something behind the plate that I couldn't reach. Turns out that was true, but the poor connection was from the original install. So we're another $300 in the hole for this (emergency fee) and now have a half attached wall plate to show for it. Photos attached.
