I had a very uncomfortable experience at the Planet Fitness on Lakewood Blvd. My interaction with…read moreIzabel S. left me feeling singled out and unfairly treated. I was told I had to take a photo for their files, but the process was not clearly explained to me, and I was not given any information about how the image would be stored, used, or protected. When I asked questions, I did not feel like my concerns were taken seriously. The entire situation made me feel racially profiled. Being pressured to take a picture without transparency about its purpose felt invasive and unnecessary. Given the location and the overall environment, I unfortunately wasn't surprised by how the situation was handled -- but that doesn't make it acceptable. Being made to feel uncomfortable, especially during Black History Month, over something that should have been handled respectfully and professionally, was disappointing. I joined expecting a welcoming and judgment-free atmosphere, but this experience did not reflect that at all. I hope management takes concerns like this seriously and ensures staff are trained to communicate policies clearly and treat every member with dignity and respect. Response: Respectfully, the burden should not be on me to reach out again. As a business, management should have taken the initiative to contact me directly after such a serious concern was raised. Simply asking me to come back and speak with management does not address the discomfort and distrust that was created. I do not feel comfortable reaching out to management at this location. Based on my experience, it appears that employees are not consistently applying policy but instead acting on personal discretion. When someone has been coming to your establishment for over six months without issue, suddenly being pressured to have their image stored without a clear explanation of the policy, data use, or privacy protections is unacceptable. There was no transparency about why the photo was required, how it would be stored, or how my privacy would be safeguarded. That is a legitimate concern. If this is truly a company-wide policy, it should be communicated clearly and applied consistently -- not selectively. It is also my belief that Izabel handled the situation in an unprofessional manner. On multiple occasions I have observed her disengaged at the front desk, turned away while talking with other employees rather than assisting members. The way this interaction was handled felt targeted and unnecessary. If Planet Fitness truly strives to provide a welcoming and judgment-free environment, that standard must be reflected in action -- not just in a templated response. I would expect corporate leadership, not just local management, to review this matter seriously.

Curves has not impressed me with there customer service…read more Let's start by saying I have been receiving email after email regarding the new and improved Jillian Michaels curves workout. So in search for a new gym I said why not check out the local curves. I scheduled my consultation online the night before for 630am the following am. To be noted I had to get up an extra hour plus to try and get it done before my work hours. With that being said I arrived at the location 10 min prior to my appointment time. When I finally get the attention of the "trainer" I am told that I will not be able to be helped until 7am that they should not schedule consultation during Jillian classes. I informed her that I didn't mind following along and getting a workout before my consultation at 7. She followed up with saying that would not work and that the computer system is run by corporate all while seeming genuinely uninterested in the fact this was an inconvenience and poor customer service. I followed up by asking for the corporate number to discuss this matter with them and she stated that they don't have the number. Excuse me how does a large franchise not have a number to corporate. I looked on line and finally got corporate number and they stated same thing out computer system doesn't always know what the branches are doing and stated that I would have to complain directly with the branch. Seriously the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I used the online registration to save time. Also the branch opens at 6 which means the "trainer" had 30 min to call me and notify me of the issue and ask to reschedule. Which she didn't. With 10 gyms in my are I for sure do not recommend curves. It's a shame
