I want to be clear that I understand I signed a contract, and I take responsibility for signing it. My review is not about pretending the contract didn't exist. My concern is with my overall experience and, especially, the way I was spoken to when things didn't work out. While I was training here, I communicated that I had financial limitations and couldn't afford to keep adding more. Despite that, I often felt pressured to purchase additional training or add more days. It became uncomfortable feeling like I was being encouraged to spend more almost every time I came in, particularly after I had already explained what I could afford. Eventually, circumstances changed and I stopped attending. I understand that I should have communicated that sooner, and I can acknowledge my part in that. However, when the business contacted me regarding the remaining contract, what could have been a professional conversation became unnecessarily personal. I was told that they "can't afford to be hurt financially by people like you," that they would "eat that money since you don't have it," and that I should "be more mindful" when doing business with another small company. I found those comments incredibly condescending and hurtful. There is a professional way to discuss a contract, cancellation, or unpaid balance without making someone feel ashamed about their financial circumstances or referring to them as "people like you." What makes this especially disappointing is that I had never completely ruled out returning. Just because I wasn't attending at that time did not mean I never planned to come back. I had considered returning when my circumstances allowed me to. After receiving these messages, however, I no longer feel comfortable doing so. I respect that this is a small business and understand that losing revenue affects a small business. At the same time, being a small business does not excuse speaking to a customer this way. How you treat people when there is a disagreement matters just as much as how you treat them when everything is going well. I genuinely wish this situation had been handled differently. I came here because someone I trusted recommended them, and I would have preferred to leave with a positive impression and potentially return in the future. Unfortunately, the way this was handled changed that for me. I'm sharing my experience so prospective clients can make their own informed decision--not only about the training, but also about how difficult situations with customers may be handled.

Over time, I began to notice recurring patterns of unprofessional behavior that made me, and others, uncomfortable. Many women who come to this gym are dealing with personal struggles--divorce, low self-esteem, emotional stress--and it became clear to me that Cesar uses these situations to build inappropriate, relationships with clients. He frequently initiates conversations that go beyond the scope of a trainer-client dynamic. On multiple occasions, I witnessed behavior that felt more like flirtation or emotional manipulation than coaching. For example, he would single women out during or after class for prolonged one-on-one conversations, sometimes messaging them privately under the pretense of offering "support." What initially seems like friendliness begins to feel like grooming over time. The environment of the gym reflects this lack of boundaries. There's frequent drama among clients, mostly stemming from personal entanglements with the owner. It creates an uncomfortable atmosphere that distracts from the purpose of being there--to focus on health and wellness. Instead of feeling encouraged or motivated, many women (myself included) began to feel anxious, judged, or pressured. There are also no staff members, no accountability structure, and no formal boundaries in place. So in search for a new gym I said why not check out the local curves. I scheduled my consultation online the night before for 630am the following am. To be noted I had to get up an extra hour plus to try and get it done before my work hours. With that being said I arrived at the location 10 min prior to my appointment time. When I finally get the attention of the "trainer" I am told that I will not be able to be helped until 7am that they should not schedule consultation during Jillian classes. I informed her that I didn't mind following along and getting a workout before my consultation at 7. She followed up with saying that would not work and that the computer system is run by corporate all while seeming genuinely uninterested in the fact this was an inconvenience and poor customer service. I followed up by asking for the corporate number to discuss this matter with them and she stated that they don't have the number. Excuse me how does a large franchise not have a number to corporate. I looked on line and finally got corporate number and they stated same thing out computer system doesn't always know what the branches are doing and stated that I would have to complain directly with the branch. Seriously the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I used the online registration to save time. Also the branch opens at 6 which means the "trainer" had 30 min to call me and notify me of the issue and ask to reschedule. Which she didn't. With 10 gyms in my are I for sure do not recommend curves. It's a shame

They are just flirting and getting handsy the entire time. To our disappointment, the coach trains this lady almost every morning. It's unacceptable he stops everything when she asks to be recorded. We love the owner but we don't love that his staff appear to be running their own show.
