I am not the type of person to write reviews about companies. However, with the situation I have been placed in, I feel it is best to write a review. I write it with mixed feelings, because Jay does go above and beyond with trying to sell his service to his customers; however, this transpired to the job I requested not being fulfilled, as promise. I had requested bamboo to be cut down, as low as possible, and hauled off my property. Jay said he could do the job. He said he would start on a Friday and it would be completed by Saturday. The day of the estimate he came back out to my house to test out a tool. The tool did the job, and the bamboo was cut exceptionally low to the ground. He came for roughly an hour or two each day prior to Friday. We discussed other opportunities for improvements around my yard, but I made it clear that I needed the bamboo removed due to the installation of a fence on Monday. On Friday, two gentlemen that work with Jay came out mid-day to start on the bamboo and brought a U-Haul to haul it off. I became worried when I did not see much progress. When Jay showed up, I asked if this would be done by Saturday and he reassured me that it would. While the two gentlemen continued to cut down the bamboo and load it, Jay started working on my front yard. He scraped my side walks down, which brought out the curb appeal of the house, but this was not the job he was hired to do. However, I became worried about the bamboo, since fence supplies were to be delivered on Sunday. By Saturday morning, my wife became concerned that he was not going to show, because it was already 10:30 a.m. Since I was at work, I let Jay know that my wife needed to run errands and he could get started once he arrived. Jay was responsive and said he was on his way to my house. Later that day, my wife called me concerned about the cost of the service since Jay was working on our front yard. I became nervous about the deadline and called him. I told him about the bamboo being priority and I appreciated his awesomeness, but still the bamboo was the concern. Later that day my wife told me Jay and his crew had left for the day. By the time I got home it was too dark to see the result. Sunday came and the fence supplies could not be brought in due to the height and trip hazard of the bamboo and the large amount of bamboo branches left on the side of my house. Discouraged by what happened, I started raking up the area, but found it could not be raked because it was large amount of bamboo branches. Monday, I had to hire someone to come out and clear out the bamboo branches. I spent Monday and Tuesday night cutting down residual branch pieces, ranging 1-6 inches tall, using a reciprocating saw. By Wednesday, I reached out to Jay, in the early afternoon, and let him know about posting a review. He told me he would rectify this situation and be at my house later that evening. He did not make it out but told me he would come Thursday morning. Thursday morning, I text him pictures of the areas of concern. He called me and stated he had another job and would be out later. At 4p.m. I had to reach out to him to see if he was coming out; he did not show. Around 4:30p, one of his workers showed up to my house to finish the job. After an hour passed, I went to check on the progress, and found Jay had sent his worker with loppers to cut down the residual bamboo. I offered my reciprocating saw to his working. I called Jay to discuss the situation and how this was delaying the fence installation. Jay seemed to go around the issue and provided excuses as to why this was not done correctly. At this point, I became frustrated and did not wish to deal with Jay anymore. I was planning to hire him as my permanent yard guy, but after this situation, I cannot put myself through the stress. I feel like he left me with this mess and now I must fix, and hire other people, to finish a job he was paid to do. Also, I provided gratuity for his kindness, but I now feel like this was the wrong thing for me to do. read more
