Selecting a company to work a big project is no small feat. So I sent out my project request through Yelp and this company was one of the responses I received. Scheduling a visit proved to be challenging. Their AI bot was responding to the point that I was frustrated. Eventually I answered that their scheduling didn't work for me. At that point, a person intervened and told me the AI bot took over and gave me a date that worked for me. She said a confirmation was forthcoming. When I responded ok, the bot seemed to take over again. I believe the date and time I was given was a Thursday at noon because the Wednesday at noon was unavailable. But I didn't receive a confirmation. So Wednesday comes around and I'm not expecting anyone. I'm working from home in pajamas when the doorbell rings. I scramble to get dressed when I realize this person isn't leaving and might be one of the companies I scheduled. I came outside and received a friendly greetings. I apologized for being delayed and explained that I was expecting them the next day. I opened up the gate and we spent about ten minutes going over what I wanted. I was advised that I would be sent an estimate probably the following day. I never received an estimate. The writing was all over the walls. The people I dealt with were nice, but the situation with the AI bot and not getting a quote back, unfortunately didn't inspire confidence.

Attacking a customers character is never good First off I have to say the work and speed that their crew delivered was great. We love everything that they did for us. We had a number of requests for them to: 1. Build a deck near our pool with cover 2. Replace our fencing to hide the pool equipment 3. New fence towards the back of our property In the photos you can see how great it turned out. Now where they lost their stars is in communication and dealing with conflicts. 1st issue - We had a dumpster provided that they subcontracted and had a number of issues. James gave my husband the phone number to contact dumpster company and "deal with the issue". As a customer all issues pertaining to a subcontractor that THEY hired should have been handled by them and not us. 2nd issue - some of the fence posts they installed warped and we asked for them to come repair. We had to text and call about 10 times! We were given dates that someone would show up and then no one showed up and no communication about 5 times. Continuous calling and text had to occur with the same result. Then random out of the blue one day someone showed up to fix the fence and once again no communication to inform us they were coming nor after to check how the repair went. This process was extremely frustrating and clear that dealing with conflicts isn't their forte.

Once I paid them for my fence, their communication and willingness to repair my poorly built fence went downhill. On their first day on the job, they arrived two hours late and "accidentally" tore down my neighbors gates. Although they agreed to repair them at no cost, this still prompted problems with my neighbor. After their first day on the job, they left cement, trash, hardware, bottles and their materials littered all over my yard and did not notify me when they were leaving or returning the next day. On the next day, I noticed that they had installed one of the posts on my neighbors property line and when I pointed it out, they responded with "yeah we did that so it wouldn't press against the tree". When I asked them if they could put the post back on my property line, they pulled out the post that had already set in cement and reused it by digging a larger hole and pouring more cement. In their contract under provision 7, it states "contract warrants all workmanship for a period of one year following completion". In addition, provision 1 states "all work shall be completed in a workmanship like manner and in compliance with all building codes and other applicable laws". It has been less than one year since my fence was installed and 5-6 of the boards of my fence were not nailed down properly, both of my gates would not open and Queta construction is refusing to replace the post that is consequential damage of their team installing a post off of the property line and reusing the same post after it had set. To top it off, I was told that my post split due to "sun damage" even though I paid for cedar, weather treated lumber. Queta agreed to nail down my posts and fix my gates, but only after not showing up for the job on 3 separate occasions. I would not hire them again and wanted to share my experience with photos as evidence of their negligence to follow through.

I ended up getting exactly what i did NOT want. (See photo) When brought to his attention, Ricardo stated that he used a laser level and that me and my wife personally reviewed and approved using our own level. What is NOT true about this statement is the section of new concrete with yellow arrow (see photo) was not personally reviewed nor approved for slope by my wife and I. What is true is that 2 different sections of Ricardo work were checked and found to have an issue with the slope. All of this detail should have been checked by Ricardo, not my wife and I. Ricardo accepts no responsibility for his mistakes and because i was present throughout the job I should have caught this mistake, flagged him and called time out. Almost to say it was my fault. I fully regret hiring this company especially for the amount of money i paid. Almost 12,000.00 dollars. Be careful who you hire, do your homework and most importantly get every little detail in writing. These types of mistakes should not happen. A professional company should consider and apply any and all City of San Antonio Codes to eliminate any discrepancies or mistakes such as water runoff. Affordable Concrete kept my wife and I busy as there were other issues that needed addressing as well. Be careful with who you hire! My response to Ricardo. You are correct, you had no control over my existing slab. You did however have full control on how the concrete you installed slopes. It is the installation and slope of your work that is diverting water onto the existing slab. That is how the water in my photo got there. It is not complicated so please quite trying to spin reality. Its your product, you should own it. I can take a garden hose and show you a video if you like. Just let me know. Also, I will not be deleting my Google review. Maybe some edits but nothing else.
