So I went back recently for my final procedure in September and the process went well. He made sure I was comfortable as usual and also improved the process to improve the level of comfort for patients with a new way to numb the area. He is always perfecting his craft, I love it! If there is any issue at all during the procedure or healing process, PLEASE DO NOT hesitate to reach out. He will help you in any way possible, he really cares for his patients! This review is long overdue. I used Dr. Diliberto for my colonoscopy . During my consultation with him, he was very thorough. He explained what to expect the day of the procedure. His staff was "top notch", and very friendly. In pre-opt and post-opt he made me feel very relaxed. The anesthesiologist was personable as well. After prep and before the procedure he checked on me to ensure I was comfortable and aware of what was to happen. I would not recommend this doctor!!!!! I made an appointment, and they cancelled me the day of saying I didn't get my paperwork in on time. I wasn't even aware of this policy. I was feeling anxious about the appointment already and was really hoping to get in. She said she would ask the doctor. The secretary called back, saying no I could not get in, he has no room for me today, and that I need to go see a liver specialist. NO, I don't need to go see a liver specialist...that was not the issue. Then when I asked her to speak to the doctor, I had to call back for her to tell me he doesn't want to see me based on patient doctor relationship. What relationship? I was charged $50.00 for no show for Dr.appt. When I showed up for my 1:30 appt. @ 1:29 pm, Dec. 29 2020, I'm very high risk for Covid 19 , ie. Diabetes type 2, High Blood, pressure Heart Disease Quadruple bypass, 78 yrs. Old, I waited in a crowded waiting room w/ people going in and out of the office for half an hour before I didn't want to risk my health any longer so I told the girl at the desk I was leaving and left. How long is someone to wait, Had no idea when I would be seen. I had an appt. with the Dr. and showed up but he didn't keep the appt. me either. Then had the nerve to bill my insurance and me $50.00 for no show, what gaul. I will not be returning to Dr Diliberto in the future. And I will not pay the no show charge. I am so thankful to have found Dr Diliberto! He is a miracle doctor! Looking online for help, I found Dr. Diliberto and made my appointment. During my initial consultation, Dr Diliberto went through all my concerns, answered all my questions, and provided recommendations. He is a straight shooter and does not waste your time or his. I want this quality in a doctor. His staff is also amazing. From his receptionists to his PA. His PA, Nuri is so sweet. I never have to wait when I visit the office. They are on top of their office and their patients. Now as far as the procedures: For internals, the rubber band ligation was painless! The procedure only took seconds. For externals, Dr. Diliberto performed an excision. He used super strong anesthesia and I didn't feel a thing. He is only able to remove one at a time. So far I have had 2 done and have my appt to do the final in a few more weeks. As embarrassing as this topic is, no one talks about it; however because I am SO HAPPY and pleased with my results thus far I have to leave a recommendation for this wonderful dr and his staff. Dr. Diliberto has been my doctor since 2001. He is complete, thorough, knowledgeable and very attentive. I have referred my family and friends over these many years. I came across his yelp reviews by chance this week, and had to comment on the 1-star reviews. All of the bad reviews are for patients that didn't like their no show or late cancel fee, or didn't like how much they had to pay out of pocket. Firstly, my other doctors, dentist, Message Envy, and European Wax Center all charge for missed appointments. This isn't a punishment to the patient, it's a minor compensation to the practice for an empty time slot that could have been filled with a patient that needed to come that day. When you no show, it's a punishment to the doctor's office and their other patients. GET WITH THE PROGRAM--THIS ISN'T NEW, NOR UNIQUE. Secondly, I work in insurance, and the amount you pay is determined by them, not the doctor. And the person who said they paid over $2000, didn't pay that to the doctor. No service the doctor performs is worth more than $500. What he didn't tell you is he paid that to a combination of the doctor, surgery center, anesthesiologists, etc. because they have a huge deductible. Not fair to criticize Dr. Diliberto or any other healthcare professional for the insurance plan you chose. I have very serious GI issues that I am blessed to have Dr. Diliberto as my healthcare manager. Thank you, from deep in my heart, Dr. D for taking such good care of me. So, I scheduled an elective procedure with Dr. Diliberto on 11 JUL 2019 for 22 AUG 2019. His office called me today (the morning of 15 AUG 2019)...1 week prior to reschedule for SEP because the doctor is 'taking vacation'. I was under the impression we schedule appointments well in advance for planning purposes. I am now butting up against another military deployment which is a huge inconvenience because I specifically chose the end of AUG for a reason. If I wasn't this close to other obligations, I would cancel and find another doctor who respects his patient's time and willingness to schedule far enough in advance for proper planning. He was pompous when I visited him and criticized my general doctor with no understanding of the background. He showed no compassion when I was struggling with multiple family issues during the COVID pandemic and was suffering from an illness that prevented me from getting my COVID test before a scheduled procedure. Instead of caring about my situation, he charged me $200 for no show procedure. Although the standard policy states as such if you're unable to give 48 hours notice, he showed no understanding during these difficult times. And to make matters worse, the receptionist accused me of lying when I requested the fee be waived because I had been ill, and they refused to release my records until I paid the $200. I'll never go back and recommend people avoid this uncaring doctor. Update - I paid the $200, check cleared at my bank, and they send me another $200 bill indicating past due. The worst doctor I ever had in my life. Always rushed and rude. My first encounter with him was over the phone. I had strong concerns about abdominal pain and asked his office to call me. He called and just laughed at me, my concerns, literally told me to "take a chill pill" and that he will see me for endoscopy. I felt so uncomfortable and rushed, none of my questions were answered. One the day of the procedure he was even more rude and impatient. I am extremely anxious about any medical procedure and had an anxiety attack about going under anesthesia. He stood there and told me I had 5 mins to decide whether I want to move forward with the procedure or go home as he doesn't have time and there are other patients in line. After the procedure was done, he came to check on me, literally spending one minute telling me diagnosis and left. Even anesthesiologist spent more time with me after I was awake although it was not his job. I never had any worse experience than with this doctor. Do not go to him, just don't. Choose someone else, it will be better because it can't be worse than being dr diliberto patient. read more

I originally left a very positive review after my first consultation. Now I am disheartened with Dr. Diliberto. At my recent appointment to review the results of a procedure the Dr. excused himself after the first few minutes to take a call on his cellphone. I was anxious since he had just referred me for a painful surgery. When he returned about five minutes later I heard him tell the caller to call back in five minutes. They indeed called back in five minutes at which point the doctor tried to abruptly wrap up our appointment. I informed him that I wasn't finished but he insisted he needed to take the call. I pressed that I had more questions and he told me that I would need to wait for his call to be done. Furthermore, he told me that I shouldn't be so grumpy with him, that my condition is not his fault and that I should try to smile more when he comes back. Wow! read more

First it's important to note that I'm not the easiest patient to work with. I talk a lot, I ask questions, then I ask even more questions. I'm a pretty aggressive individual, but that did not deter him or his staff in working with me. First off, Dr Jay takes the time to discuss your needs and options. He's been a GI doctor for many years, I value experienced individuals. Dr Jay was referred to me by another Doctor to do my colonoscopy which I was 8 years late in doing, big mistake. DON'T WAIT. It's a routine procedure for him and could save your life. I am fairly sure that he saved me from long term issues. GI doctors do 1000s of these procedures, so like all other busy specialists he has to schedule his time very carefully you must be sympathetic to that. His office staff is patient, and organized while they can't answer questions about your specific situation, they will follow up with Dr Jay. And it may take him a few hours to get back to you, but that's because of the number of procedures they do. Which is why you go in the first place. I saw some of the negative reviews, it appeared that the complaints were unfounded. But then again, I don't make appointments that I don't keep, I try to get to the appointment 15 min early. It seemed like the negative reviews were likely the result of disorganized patients rather than the quality of care. From my view, the quality of care has to be the most important thing. And that's 5 stars plus. read more

Wow...just wow. I began seeing Dr. Diliberto in September of 2020. After an initial procedure, multiple follow-up treatments and thousands of dollars paid, I visited Dr. Diliberto for the final time in May of 2021. During this last appointment, my issue had still not been corrected. When he uttered the words that this next repeat treatment would "SET A RECORD" for the number of times he'd performed this procedure on a patient, I stopped him immediately and said I would like to see another doctor. A month later, I spoke with his billing person who told me that my account was fully paid and that there was nothing additional due. A year later in May of 2022, an invoice for additional charges was sent to an old address of mine. Once I was made aware of it, I immediately contacted his billing office as well as his medical office. Being upfront that I was not trying to dodge bills, but would like an answer as to why I was being billed over a year later for services I had been previously told was paid in full. After multiple calls to his office, instead of returning one of my calls or providing me an answer to why I was getting this now, the office charged my credit card that had apparently been retained on file. I should have taken heed to the other reviews on here. One thing I should mention, the new doctor I went to was able to correct the issue I was having on the first try. This whole experience was bad and I do not recommend this doctor. Beware!!!! Go see a doctor that actually cares about their patients instead of his wallet. UPDATE: Just received a very aggressive and threatening call from Dr. Diliberto. He blatantly lied stating they had attempted to invoice me multiple times and that only because he was such a nice guy, I wasn't put into collections. This 100% untrue. The very first time I received a statement, it was dated May 18, 2022 and immediately upon my receipt of it, I began calling so I could get an explanation. Every call began with me saying, I am not dodging the invoice and if the money is due, I would pay it. I just want a reason why over a year after my last appointment I was receiving this statement. This is my very first review EVER. But I felt a moral obligation to post this BE WARNED!!! And read the other reviews. They are not being exaggerated. This office is a joke. I had a colonoscopy as well as endoscopy in April. After the procedures and paying at least $2500 out of pocket (with good health insurance) I set up my follow up appointment. Realizing that I would be on vacation the week of my follow up appointment, I called the office to cancel, figuring I would call back to reschedule. In the meantime, I receive a no show $50 charge in the mail. I called the office explaining that I did call to cancel. They didn't believe me so took it to the doctor. He said I either had to pay the $50 or reschedule my appointment. I was driving at the time and didn't have my calendar available. In frustration with the situation I said I would call back. When I finally called to reschedule, Dr D had a note in my file that said "do not reschedule this patient" what????? I literally was shocked at how unprofessional this was. When I asked why, they had no clue. Then I called to ask that my records of both procedures be sent to me, and the office said they would have to check w the Doctor because he charges for medical records. I DO NOT recommend this Dr. His unprofessional ways will leave you frustrated and taken advantage. He is a ruthless doctor. His staff are helpless under his tyranny. When you have a family death, the least thing you think about is a doctors appointment. I understand that it's the time slot saved for you but I also know that a regular person would understand a family emergency. I got a charge of $50 for not keeping the appointment. On the paperwork it states to call for an event like I had so it can be waived. The doctor was unwilling to waive it even with the paperwork and flights for this emergency. This man will abandon a patient in the middle of care, bill you out of network when he is actually in network and cause you emotional damage over payment. I am under enough stress and he abandoned me as a patient and refused to order blood work for me and I have a life threatening illness. Ruthless terrible doctor. I understand health care is a problem but please do not attempt to scare patients after surgery please...keep political views to yourself please...
