Staff are ver RUDE! Everyone who answer sounds like they hate their job and they dont wana help you. We were waiting for surgery and no one ever call to follow up, not EVEN ONE CALL when its a fracure and its urgent. Dont waste your time. Go some place else cos you will never get an answer from this office. They will see you but will take forever to schedule for surgery. We got second opinion and scheduled a surgery right away with another doctor, because why would a fracture surgery take more than week right? Front desk doesnt wana do what their supposed to. The doctor was great but when you ask the office manager for help she doesn't follow through. We asked for a job restriction letter for my kid and never got a response unless I called and then it was, "We gave it to the doctor". The doctor was great when we were in the office so I don't think it was the doctor. Update: I want to thank Paul and Juana for getting back to me and resolving the issue. Something happened to my right hand and elbow. One day I just couldn't open my hand up anymore. I started having numbing and pins and needles in my last two fingers... RIDE OF MY LIFE. Took forever to get a diagnosis and a little longer to find Dr Wakim. Thank God I did. He performed 2 surgeries and I felt better coming out of surgery than I did in 3 years. I'm not 100% yet and 3 months post op but where I've gotten has been worth the surgery. I specifically appreciate Dr. Wakims staff front and back. His back radiologist always makes notes about the smallest details and complaints and concerns I have. Every time leaving his office I can read the Drs notes and see everything I spoke about with his radiologist was noted. This makes me feel super confident about their communication. His front staff is very straightforward and easy to understand. I especially like they handle me very delicately as... side effects with medication can make me not the nicest person to deal with. I'm happy I found this office. The issues with carpel tunnel and cubital/ulnar nerve pretty much ruined my life for a few years but Dr. Wakim lowered the pain #. Thanks to his whole team. read more

Dr. Emile Wakim is such an amazing doctor and I've been to about a dozen orthopedic surgeons. He doesn't just rush to do surgery, especially with my history, and is very calm and explains to me what's going on. Not just talking to me like a robot. Yes sometimes the wait can be long, no different then any other Dr office, emergencies come up and they have to take priority. I've had to reschedule only once due to this and the front desk explained they situation. If I was a patient who needed immediate attention, I'm happy to know that Dr Wakim will be there for me. Doctor Ahearn. He's the guy to go to for lower back pain. Seriously I'm 27 and have ridic lower back pain. I'm not sure if it's from sitting 12hrs a day at work, or where it's from but I have it. I've had it for 6 months or more, daily. I could barely drive because of the back pain from sitting. I came here for a spine doc and Dr Ahearn is the man!! He looked at my X-rays and said that physically my bones were good. He also knew that I didn't have sciatica which I thought I had from doing a bunch of tests on my leg He gave me a cortisone shot which really helped. Also told me to do a couple stretches daily and also prescribed me some anti inflammatory medicine. Back pain is now all gone!! Guys you seriously need to see him. After you get your shot, you need to do 3 other things to fix your back (my own recommendation that worked after I tried therapy and other things that didn't work): 1. Hamstring stretch. Do it against the wall, one leg up at a time with the other leg straight and flat on the floor. 2. Thread the needle (yoga pose) 3. Pigeon pose (yoga pose). This one really stretches it out. You should feel it in the glute of the bent leg. Enjoy guys! Hopefully all your back pain goes away like mine!! read more

The ladies at the front desk are always nice and helpful, however, everything else about this place is utterly horrible (except the view). *WARNING* Don't be surprised if you have to wait 2-3 hours after your set appointment time to be seen by a doctor. Dr. Wakim is extremely inconsiderate of his patients time. My mother had a 10:30 appointment and wasn't seen until 12:50. We saw him leave the office while we were waiting only to be seen after he returned half an hour later. Once seen, my mother was told that he forgot to put in an order of medication for my mother and was told to come back next month for the medication once the paperwork was filled out. We basically waited almost 3 hours to be told to come back and be helped next month. We asked what the purpose was for this appointment and the receptionist apologized and she said she had no idea. I feel bad for the receptionists because they were constantly apologizing to all the patients about the wait times. Shout out to them for being so kind and professional all the time. The doctors here need to get their stuff together and step up their game. read more

5 years of pain with a bulging disk, a recent flair up sent me to see Robert Ahearn, the office looked a little old school, I thought this was going to be a waste of time...I was wrong. This doctor spent almost an hour with me, even ignoring a fire alarm while the building was being evacuated and then continuing to talk to me in the parking lot. I had a consult with one of the orthopedic surgeons there, Dr. Robert Ahearn, and he was really great. There was barely any waiting time and I got in for my x-ray right away. I was able to get an appointment only a few days in advance. Dr. Ahearn took his time explaining my condition to me and I didn't feel rushed at all. I have been to many doctor offices before and did not have the best experiences. But this one left me with a really good impression and I would definitely go back if I ever need another consult, and would refer my friends to this place if needed. read more

I was initially brought here to see Dr. Ahearn for my knees. He decided to refer me to Dr. Emile Wakim, in the same office, because Dr. Wakim is more experienced with the knee joints. I was impressed that Dr. Ahearn was willing to admit that Dr. Wakim was a better choice, and Dr. Ahearn still followed my case and has been friendly and in contact the whole time. This office has a family atmosphere, Dr. Paul and Dr. Emile Wakim are father and son, respectively. Dr. Ahearn's wife, Donna, works in the physical therapy office downstairs and schedules surgeries. All of the staff here are friendly, empathetic, helpful and knowledgeable and anything they don't know, they are willing to learn. Dr. Emile Wakim has been available for me any time I have needed him with regards to my knees and the 4 surgeries he has performed, one being exploratory and 1 being an emergency after a fall at 3am on a Sunday morning. He treats me like a real person and relies on me to give him truthful answers for him to base his decisions on, rather than assuming he knows everything, but also double checks everything so there are no mistakes made. He listens and follows through on everything he says he will. He remembers his patients by face and name and treats them as he would family. The physical therapy center downstairs is a really wonderful place to receive care as well. The staff is just as friendly and they treat you with respect. I recommend this office with every ounce of recommendation I have. If you want quality care, see them. I have been to more doctors than I can count and none have been as wonderful as this one. read more

Dr. Ahearn performed a spinal fusion on me back in 2004. My surgery went beautifully, and I was back on the soccer field 6 months later (which is exactly when he told me I would be). Nearly 10 years later and my back is still perfect. He has also performed surgery on a friend of mine 3 different times (shoulder, knee, and forearm) all of which corrected the problem. I am so glad I found this place and Dr Ahern, he is awesome. He has been helping me through a knee injury for quite some time. Most recently through a ankle sprain. He is very patient and spends a lot of time explaining anatomy, and everything that could be happening, as well as domino effects of certain injuries. He has wonderful bedside manner and what I appreciate most is he does everything possible to avoid surgery, from braces to medications, therapeutic exercises. Went to see Dr. Paul Wakim for a shoulder injury. The office setting is nice with a panoramic view of HB and surrounding cities. All the sports memorabilia was pretty cool, too - turns out the doc is an avid tennis player. But I'm sure you don't care about that stuff, right? I was x-rayed, given a physical exam, and then told to go get an MRI. I didn't understand why I had to get an MRI as he already had a pretty good idea of what was going on. But I spent my money and did it. Turns out he was right in the first place. Overall, the experience was okay and the doc explained everything thoroughly, but I don't have any other orthopedist to compare to. read more

I was recommended to Dr. Emile Wakim by my neighbor and his son. They both injured their shoulder and got treated by Dr. Wakim with great results. I came here for PRP shots for both of my shoulders, the right one for bursitis and the left one with a small tear. So far so good! I have had 3 PRP injections 3 weeks a part and may have to go for a coupe more. I also do the exercise Dr. Wakim recommended. Normally, I would have severe shoulder pain, since I have not had a cortisone injection for more than 6 months. The office is spotless and the staff well trained and courteous. I feel confident, that I will not need any surgery for my my rotary cuff. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! Dr. Peterson ruined my life through his gross negligence and arrogance. Short version of a very long, painful, difficult story: A drunk hit me on my motorcycle in 1996 when I was just 18 and Dr. Peterson performed complicated surgery on my knee, then sent me home to rot. I was managing a brand new business in CM and they didn't have health benefits for us, so state insurance kicked in. Dr. Peterson said that he didn't work up to becoming a surgeon at Hoag in Newport Beach to work on punk kids like me, and my grandfather paid him a few thousand dollars to treat me (unethical if not illegal). He did perform a very complicated surgery on my knee, but then washed his hands of me and sent me home to rot. At 18 I didn't know much and just waited to heal... 9 months later and wheelchair bound, my knee was fused in a bent position and physical therapists were horrified that I hadn't been prescribed PT immediately following surgery! I went through HELL to get my knee functional, and be able to walk without assistance, never to run jump, or hike again. Now, years later I have severe back problems due to complications from my knee and pelvis, and have had to have my lower spine rebuilt. I'm disgusted that he is still practicing and that he partially owns this practice! I suffer every day of my life in pain because of Dr. Peterson. DO NOT COME HERE!!! read more

Well, updating my review, adding another star. Seeing the doctor (again, I can't say enough good things about all of them) still takes a long time, so that's an administrative issue. However, let me tell you about those worker bees, they know their stuff, they are true professionals, know how to deal with insurance, they know how to document their stuff, and they are top notch. IMO nobody in that office is less then stellar! Now if they could only work on the waiting times... then they would be PERFECT! read more

Dr. Emile Wakim and the Pacifica Ortho Group including Dr. Marker at 360 Sports Spine are simple the best doctors I have ever been to for my spinal issues. With multiple bulging disks and 2 past fusions along with a work related injuries I am not the easiest patient to care for. I have never had doctors spend the time (before my arrival even) to really do their homework and know everything about my past injuries and surgeries. On top of pre-arrival preparedness both these doctors actually spend a ton of time with you, thoroughly understand your issues, have great bedside manner, are extremely knowledgeable, care for their patients (like Doctors are supposed to), and of course have extreme skill and expertise. They will take the time to make sure you understand what is going on, educating you and explaining their plan (taking your opinions into account), and following up with you. I really can not say enough about the professionalism and expertise of this office, these doctors and all their staff. read more
