I've been going to The Image Center for two years now and I'm grateful for the excellent staff there and the quality care they provide. I've gotten Botox there several times and my lips done four times and every time is a breeze and I feel super comfortable and welcomed. Kaitlyn is one of the PA's there and she is an absolute delight, she's super knowledgeable, she listens, she cares, she is passionate about her job and she takes her time on your services and answers any questions you may have even if you have a million questions like I always do. This is a review about the original Huntington Beach location and Dr. Peter Newen. I wish I could give zero stars. I had double eyelid surgery with Dr. Newen 9 years ago, and every day when I look at myself, I wish I had never had it done. At the consult and before the surgery, I specified over and over again that I wanted very small natural lids. Dr. Newen assured me at the consult and again before the surgery to trust him and not to worry. I was shocked afterwards to see what he had done. The fold was so high and deep, I could feel the tightness and pulling on my eyelids. They were pulled so tight, you could see literal pucker lines on the inner part of the lids. There were uneven suture lines and visible scarring. My eyes were strained and looked almost cross-eyed. I repeatedly contacted the office and only the assistants responded to me. I saw Dr. Newen once for a follow up and he was dismissive and even told me that when I get older my lids would start drooping so it's good that they are higher now, admitting that he made them bigger and higher than what I asked him to. I did not get the surgery so they could potentially look "good" when I am 80. I was so self-conscious about how my eyes looked, it took me over a year to feel comfortable going without glasses and using contacts again. Even after 9 years, they feel the same. The same tightness, pulling, and swollen look. The scarring is still there and there has been no drooping of the lids. I look much older now because of how deep the fold is. I have gone to other places for a consult and have been told it would be very difficult to fix. Sadly, I hate looking at my face in the mirror now. All for a simple double eyelid surgery. I got a rhinoplasty done by doctor peter newen and was not happy at all. I got botched before the surgery my nose was straight I now have a crooked nose. It looks like I have a deviated septum. When comforting Dr.newen he was dismissive and said that he couldn't do anything about it that's the best he could do. I no longer enjoy taking photos because of my crooked nose. read more

A re-evaluation of Image Center - five NEGATIVE stars. 1. Closing hours - is it 5pm or 5:30 pm? Website didn't say. 2. The number given as (714) 475-2010 automatically connected me to "extension 5000" and was "unavailable. 3. The (888) 818-0072 number was a crackly old fashioned answering machine, no one answered regardless of the time of day . 4. Website is in serious disrepair, link for booking on the "My Appointment Now" does not work, the "Book Online" menu option is the same as the "Contact Us" page, the "Shop Online" option just brings you back to the home page, all of the YouTube videos are over one year old, the last post on Twitter (X) is July 2022. There's no prices anywhere, no list of current staff. I used to frequent the Huntington Beach location, but moved to Newport so I went to the Irvine location once in 2021, although pushy for me to write a review while I was still in the office to get a discount, but the nurse did a good job so that was okay. I've tried to get back in touch with them over the last couple of years but found it hard to find current info, so I thought maybe there was just some shuffling going on because of the pandemic. I had also heard that the HB location was closed, but I see the address as valid so I'm not sure, I didn't dig deep because I didn't think I would need to go there. This time I gave it a good try to sit down and make an appointment and it's just ridiculous. Nothing online works correctly or is accurate or up to date. It's been 10 years since I've had my breast done. I've finally decided to write a review. Since so much time as past & nothing has changed. If I could go back in time I wish I never got them done. Especially by Dr Peter. He came highly recommended by a lot of people I know. My aunt use to work for his office. She adored him, I trusted her. So because of all the recommendations, I decided to go with him. The office I went to was in HB. He's not longer at that location. At first visit & consult he was very knowledgeable, listened to your needs & very caring, but came off extremely arrogant. Claims he knows breast & what looks good. I trusted him but I was hesitant. I should have listened to my body. I weighed (at the time) 115 & 5'4 he insisted I get 500cc. I did not want to look like I have coffee girl/porn star boobs. I wanted them to be questionable. Like big enough to be fake, But a little too perfect to be real. He ended up telling me to go 450/480, one of my breast was noticeably smaller. I wish I didn't listen to him. They were massive when I finally woke up. He placed them so high. Every post op I went to he would belittle & become more condescending. His bed side manners are terrible. So since he placed them so high, they never dropped right. So my implants still sit really high, the top of my cleavage is about 2 inches from my collar bone & my actual, real breast are now sagging. ALSO he went too big my skin started to lift off of my sternum while I was healing. It hurt so bad. Lucky I didn't end up with a uniboob. Now side ways I have a weird shape & it's square like. I have this implant hump & my real Brest is dipping towards the bottom. So my real ones are sagging due to age & poor placement. I'll never forgot what he said to me at the last appointment. Mind you I was barely a 34B. I was flat but wide. I told him "you placed them too high & I don't like them, how they never dropped & they are so fake. You gave me coffee girl boobs that I didn't want" He had the nerve to tell me, "I did you a favor. You're already sagging & placing them higher helped them look better. You'll be back for a lift with me in a few years" I WAS SHOCKED & pissed. I replied with, "are you kidding? I was barely a B cup & I'm no where near sagging" I was 27 years old with no kids. I was not sagging. So he quickly dismissed me & he was angered. I never saw him again after that. I seriously wish I never got my breast done. He left a really bad taste in my mouth & I am scared to get them redone by anyone now. I am embarrassed of my breast. The moment I got them done I had so much regrets. I got my breast augmentation here on March 1st, 2023. To this day, my scars are still red and noticeable. I went to another plastic surgeon who specializes in scars and he immediately told me I was allergic to the type of thread Peter Newen used and he should have caught that. I called the office about it and the front desk lady, Ashli gaslighted me and told me "we would've realized you were allergic." And basically kept telling me there's no way I could have been allergic and that it's because I have Asian skin tone that my scars are dark. I also only saw Peter once before my surgery, I never saw him again after. All my follow up appointments, I never got to see him. I only saw the nurses and I would drive all the way to Irvine (I live in Santa Monica) and they would legit talk to me for 5 minutes. Literally would look at my boobs and be like "ok looks fine" and that's it... every time I mentioned concerns about the scars they told me it's because I'm Asian and there's nothing I can do about it. My scars are finally getting a tiny bit better because I've spent about $5k on treatments, which include steroid injections, lasers, and now I'm undergoing scar camouflage tattoo. And this is only fixing the color. There's still texture and scar tissue. One of them keloided and the other one is hypertrophic. I have no way to get rid of this until I'm able to get a scar revision whenever I get my implants replaced. So thanks to Peter I've basically spent the money on 2 boobs job already since I've had to spend so much on fixing the scar. At this point I would have just went to someone else who's more expensive and better. read more

I came into this building 100% confident that I wanted to get services done by Dr Newen. I did not expect to have my pre-op and my surgery scheduled within the same month and I was ecstatic! Fast forward to June 13th of my pre-op. I was asked if i would pay the full payment. I was all in and agreed to pay for my surgery before hand. So, I payed the full price and was told to reach out if i had absolutely any questions regarding surgery or pre-op instructions leading up to my surgery day (which was two weeks later.) As I was waiting for my surgery date, I had many questions. I began contacting my consultant, Ashli, and could see that she read my message, but she did not respond. I gave it a few days and recieved no response. I am very understanding about others having busy schedules, but seeing as though I was going to go through a major surgery (anchor lift + augmentation) I was starting to feel afraid and develop more questions about their timeliness in responding to patients.. I payed full price then was ignored. It couldnt have been percieved any other way than that. Skip to 3 days before surgery. My multiple questions through texts and voicemails that I left for Ashli's phone between the days of June 13th-June24th still had not been answered. It was time to take certain supplements leading up to surgery according to pre op instructions. I tried calling the office this time to ask questions about Bromelain and also get my answers to other questions. i left voicemails. Within one hour of taking Bromelain, my body began to undergo severe stomach pains and a migraine. My diet is particular, meaning I eat the same breakfast every day, and there was nothing else that I could have ingested or any exposure to make me have any stomach flu/food poisoning symptoms. I contacted ashli, again, to see if it would be okay to take Tylenol for my migraine, to no avail. I called the Image Center twice the day/night before my surgery which was a sunday and had to leave two voicemails! I called the Post hours hotline to reach the physician's assistant ASAP. No response from her, my consultant nor the office of The Image Center ONE DAY prior to surgery. Since I was dealing with these harsh affects from Bromelain, I called my primary physician to ask for help. He immediately put me on an antiemetic for nausea. I came to the conclusion that if Dr Peter Newen is this hard to reach prior to surgery, how would i contact him Post-Op? They did not answer my phone calls before hand, so i decided to drive the 100+ miles to my surgery appointment to personally speak to Dr Newen face to face to share with him my disappointment in his office's lack of response, and tell him that I am deciding not to go through with surgery and I want a refund of all of the money that they had already charged from my personal account. His response to all of my concerns was not met with grace. First, Dr Newen claimed that i would "not get a full refund." Secondly, He gaslit me from the start. To Dr Newen, the effects I had could not have been from Bromelain because of his years of expertise. "Never" has he found himself in a situation where a patient has had negative effects from Bromelain. When i told Dr Newen about how i contacted my primary physician for help due to his lack of response, he ignored it and left no comment about it. He didnt even ask further questions. Then he explained that never in his vast number of years of experience has his office been so negligent, and he promised me that they would not let this happen again, and would take care of me from now on starting the day of surgery. When Dr Newen realized that I was not convinced, he told me that in his years of experience, "women that have decided that things like these are a sign from god decide to go somewhere else, then they come back to me." I guess he wanted me to believe that he is the best, and if i decide to go anywhere else, i would be botched. I said thank you, but no and demanded my refund. Dr Newen told me that he does not handle financial matters with his patients and that unfortunately I would still need to talk to Ashli, my consultant, about this. It is now July 15, which is 17 days after what would have been post surgery, and I have not recieved my cash refund. Ashli is not urgent to get me my refund nor respond to my messages regarding the agreement that I requested to email to me. I am extremely dissappointed with the way this office services their patients. I am so so thankful that I did not get surgery done here as I could only imagine what would have happened if I got an infection days post op. I am extremely sad that they are not fair or just in getting my my refund for a service that was never completed!!! Please do your research before doing something that is life changing! Please read this. I had a BA and lift here prior, and the experience was traumatizing. The doctor has poor bedside manners. My surgery was a breast lift and augmentation. After surgery, I had no drains placed. Following surgery, I had bilateral symmetrical cuts between my breasts and on my sides. When the doctor saw the cuts, he stated, "Where did those come from?". Also, note that I had not removed my gauze or any dressing during my follow-up, and the cuts were bilateral and symmetrical. 1 week following my surgery I was bleeding from my left breast. I called the phone number they provided me with, and I was told to apply pressure and wait until the next day per the doctor. The following day, the doctor saw me and my left breast was much more swollen compared to my right following all of the bleeding. He told me it was most likely a hematoma. The doctor did not drain my breast following the hematoma and he told me my body would absorb it over time. Following this, I developed blood cysts on my breast and recovery took me many months following numerous complications. I came in a few times for them to poke my cyst with a needle and drain it. My left breast became hard and firm following the hematoma. I had to advocate for myself, as many times the doctor had dismissed my concerns, and to put it plainly-it was a horrible experience. This experience left me traumatized and the scarring from his "unknown incisions" is still there. Please take your money elsewhere. I made the mistake of putting my health at risk here. I would never recommend any person to this place, because your health and concerns are not taken seriously. I understand every surgery comes with risks, but I was dismissed many times when it came to my health and concerns. I originally read all of the 5-star reviews and I ignored all of the 1-2-star reviews because I wanted to believe he was great. Went in to the office today to get my first ever lip filler. I was greeted by so many nice office girls and taken to my seat when I then waited for my injector. My injector was the sweetest I definitely recommend her to anyone coming here, her name was Sue! She informed me on every detail of the procedure and as she did it. She continued to calm my nerves by talking to me, helping me breathe, and encouraging me that I was doing an amazing job. She was very knowledgeable and did exactly what I wanted her to do! Not only did I feel pressured into purchasing a membership, promising cheaper visits in the future, but a couple months later the establishment closed down. Nine months after my initial visit, I received a call from their office telling me they reopened and invited me back claiming that they would honor my membership as long as I could provide proof of purchase. I went through the trouble of pulling my credit card statements, but they were not considered sufficient evidence. I find it unacceptable that the company did not keep proper records of their own membership sales. During the consultation, Victoria helped go over any questions, concerns and sizing. She was very informative with all the information she provided. Now that things are starting to open up again, I decided to come to the Image Center in Irvine to try out chin filler. I love that it's a nonsurgical procedure that doesn't require any downtime. Isabelle first started by numbing my chin and mapped out my chin to find the midpoint before starting. I have been coming to the image center for 5 years now and the most valuable person Jane is no longer working there. Dr. Newen has always ignored what I had to say during consultations and disregarded every comment I made. He does not care to check up on follow ups especially when I had an infection he looked at it for less than 30 seconds and said it was okay when it was clearly infected. He completely ruined my sisters nose surgery, it visibly looks crooked and he blamed it on the "natural" effects of surgery. I would not recommend the image center for lip fillers I went to them since a lot of influencers I follow go to them but my experience and results I was so disappointed that I had to waist money twice I paid them for horrible job they did on my lips and had to pay again to get them fixed elsewhere and that place did an amazing job compare to the image center, they couldn't even be considerate and refund me at least half of what I paid for messing up my lips and not doing a good job with there work, they try to say the first syringe doesn't get your results right away, but at the other place I go to in one syringe they get the results instantly amazing job. It never really crossed my mind that I wanted to get an upper blepharoplasty+epicanthoplasty until I saw all of Dr. Newen's awesome work online. I was awake & under IV sedation. Felt nothing at all! All I did was open & closed my eyes when asked to. Such a breeze & seemed like it was done in an hour or so. I even went shopping at Costco after but with sunglasses on lol. The first week I did look scary & swollen but after that subsided I started to look normal again. My post op hasn't even reached one month yet! I'd have to say my eyes look so amazing! I have larger, even, defined crease & elongated eyes. I wish I gotten them done sooner. I love them so much that I wanted to write this review & just share with everyone who may have been thinking about this procedure. Beauty is the eye of the beholder...There is nothing wrong with wanting to enhance what u already have. I'm so grateful to have found a doctor I fully trust. I've had a good experience at this center a couple of times when they first opened in Irvine. But, over the past couple of years the service and staff (front desk) professionalism has gone down. The radio is constantly playing music so loud that you can hardly understand and hear what the staff at the front desk are saying. I've worked at several doctors offices and that type of music and the noise level was never allowed - it's inappropriate and unprofessional. Not sure what kind of vibe they're trying to set but it's not what I'd expect from a doctor's office especially a plastic surgeon. There's a lot of ladies working the front desk answering calls and talking to patients in the office so that adds to the noise level. There is ZERO patient privacy. You'll hear what the person at the check out and check in counters are there for. Oh and can't forget to mention the beautox bar - there's a curtain acting as a divider between each treatment chair. I've provided feedback to their social media account and nothing came of it. The saving grace has for me has been nurse sue. read more

Just had my appointment with Sue the other day for my Newtox and it was such a breeze! Not only does The Image Center look nice, but it feels very clean. There's hand sanitizer readily available when you come in. The treatment rooms are kept so clean and the staff wears masks and gloves, which is so important in these times. Everyone I talked was an absolute angel. I saw Jane for a quick consultation. I have very bad jaw clenching and teeth grinding and Jane recommended I see one of the nurses for neurotoxin injection to the masseters. I was on a time crunch so I decided to make an appointment with nurse Sue a couple days later. Angelica was very sweet and helped me make the next appointment. Sue was so knowledgeable and friendly. She really knew what she was doing. She took her time explaining the differences between Botox, Dysport, and Newtox for me. I ended up choosing the Newtox because I wanted the quicker onset of the neurotoxin to kick in. She cleaned off my skin, marked me, then injected me. The pain was very mild and easily tolerated. She went over after care thoroughly and sent me on my way. What a treat! I would give her 6 stars if I could. read more
