Extremely Poor Experience - Would Not Recommend…read more I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Farhadi. From the beginning of the appointment, I explained that I've had chronic constipation for years--at times manageable with occasional laxatives, but recently worsening to the point where I now rely on them weekly, with decreasing effectiveness. Instead of offering a thoughtful or compassionate approach to explore possible root causes, Dr. Farhadi spent the majority of the visit explaining why my current efforts--such as hydration and dietary changes--would not help, without providing meaningful alternatives. It felt dismissive and unproductive. He performed a rectal exam without explaining what it would involve beforehand. As a healthcare provider myself, I understood what to expect, but it was concerning that he didn't walk me through the procedure. I can only imagine how distressing that would be for someone without medical knowledge, as it is a very personal and invasive assessment. After the exam, he abruptly left the room, offering no time for me to ask questions or discuss anything further. He ordered an abdominal X-ray, which he explained to me showed no major blockage but only showed stool buildup which he told me would explain my discomfort. I thought this was somewhat silly that I could have easily told him, as that was the entire reason I sought his help. His follow-up message recommended Miralax and attempting to use the restroom at scheduled times. When I reminded him that I came to his office because I'd already been relying on laxatives and wanted to find a root cause to avoid long-term dependence, he simply replied that most cases of constipation are idiopathic. This felt once again like more negligent care. While some cases may be idiopathic, reaching that conclusion after a single static image and no further testing (e.g., for motility issues, SIBO, microbiome imbalance, or inflammation) is not thorough care. Overall, Dr. Farhadi showed poor bedside manner, left no time for patient conversation, and took a superficial approach to a complex issue. I would not recommend him to anyone seeking thoughtful or investigative gastrointestinal care.

He told me insurance nowadays don't want the patient to get it done at the same time and the facility with charge $150 fee. He said they want to be paid more so it is encouraged to do them separately. This means I will be put under anesthesia twice separately. I called the insurance and I call the facility. Neither of them said that was a thing. In the end it was the doctor who wanted more money. No wonder he kept breaking eye contact and looking down when he was telling me this. I had a sense something was off.

HOWEVER, be aware that United Medical Doctors to which Dr. Argueta's office belongs, has horrible customer service and their billing system is one of the worst I've had to deal with. Instead of mailing a traditional bill to your mailing address (they DO have that), they text your phone and send an e-mail, both of which send you to their patient portal where there is NO "Pay Now" button nor can you access the invoice they should have mailed to you (then why direct me to that web page?) It is "locked" so you can only see the amount you owe. The web page directs you to a phone number where you are ultimately told you can't pay over the phone (then why give me the phone number?) and it point you to ANOTHER web page where there's finally a pay link. It takes you to a basic "fill in the credit card info" page where you can finally pay the bill. Way harder than it should have been. I still don't have an invoice for my records, only a confirmation that I paid an amount via my credit card. Will it be applied to my account? I don't know. I should add this was a bill for an office visit in May 2024 and they did not notify me I owed anything until June, 2025, over a year later! So, Dr. Argueta is great but the United Medical Doctors' web pages and payment system are horrible. Sadly it makes me not want to return to this office should another problem come up. 5 stars for Dr. Argueta and ZERO stars for United Medical Doctors.

It started off well. I had a consultation appointment. I then had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy,…read moreon October 1, 2025. I went to the follow up appointment 2 weeks later. I was told I had Pylori. A stomach infection. He prescribed three medications. I deliberately reminded the doctor I take Methotrexate. Many medications do not interact well with Methotrexate. He said it was fine. I picked up the three medications the next morning. The pharmacist said I should not take these medications. I told her the doctor said it was fine. I should have listened to her. I had lunch and took one of each pill. By 4.00pm, I thought I was going to die. My heart was racing, sweating, shaking, severe nausea. Dry heaves. I'm a widow, and there's usually no one here at that time of day. By a miracle I had a friend here that day. He wanted to call the paramedics. He got me water, and sat me down in my hay barn, as I couldn't stand up. I was terrified. I drank a bottle of water. He managed to drag me to my house and by 4.30pm, I was in bed. I'm diabetic. I had no dinner, and took no meds. I've never felt so bad in my life and I'm 77 years old. I kept drinking water to flush the meds, most of the night. I called Dr Shen at 9.00am the next morning. The person I spoke to, said she would send a message to the doctor. That was 2 weeks ago. I never took another pill. I spoke to my GP, who said not to take them. Dr Shen, or anyone from his office, never called me until yesterday. October 28, 2025. I had already made an appointment with my previous gastroenterologist whom I should have gone to in the first place. I went to Dr Shen as he was local, and I could avoid the drive to Orange County. Big mistake. It wasn't even him calling, but someone in his office. I told her I wasn't interested in anything they had to say, as they abandoned me two weeks ago. I'm disgusted with the lack of compassion or any communication. I was just a number on their conveyor belt. I'll never go back there. I have all the reports which I will give to my original gastroenterologist and move on.

We did a ton of paperwork online, but it seems like they never looked at what we submitted. They called my wife asking for the same information we had already filled out. The very rude woman named Mary Grey (not sure if that's her real name) had extremely strange behavior on the phone. She yelled at us and even threatened to cancel the appointment. I understand she might have problems at home or some mental health issues, but I can't believe they would hire someone like that for customer service.
