By far my favorite restaurant in all of Jax. Great food, great service, not one complaint. Everyone needs to try this place.

So the food is delicious, however, this is the second time around that I've gotten short curly dark hairs in my Butter Chicken... I wrote it off the first time and just ate something else, because it happens, but this time it wasn't just one hair, it was several short black hairs. It wasn't super coarse hair so not beard hair, tbh it kinda looked like arm hair, if not just really short head hair? Anyways if y'all are reading this, please have your cooks wear hair nets, and if they have excessive body hair, then long sleeves. Good hand washing practices can help with long arm hair as well - making sure to scrub up to the elbows. If this is fixed, I would order from here again, as again the food is delicious! read more

Awesome time!!! Great drinks, amazing food, and one of the best entertainment that I have ever witnessed!! I enjoyed the experience for their soft opening! read more

We attended a special event here and were impressed with the drinks and appetizers that were offered, part of a Yelp event leading up to a Grand Opening date. We immediately decided to come back for the Grand Opening weekend. The restaurant is large and airy, but not decorated with traditional Indian decor. There is a large bar, front and center in the dining room as you enter, with a few booths and many tables. They take pride in saying that the food is made to order from scratch - so it may take a little longer than other places. We definitely noticed more than a typical wait time on our visit. But the food was excellent. Chicken Hariyali had large chunks of white meat chicken, nicely seasoned. Smaller pieces of chicken might have made the dish more tender, but it was ok. Lamb and Chicken Biryani was a standout, ordered medium spicy. The heat level was perfect and the meats were very tender. We had lemon rice, onion naan, and channa saag for sides. All very well executed. Portions of both main dishes were very generous, and we took enough leftovers home to make a couple more dinners. Dessert was a very good Tiramisu - an unusual find in an Indian restaurant. There were a couple of hiccups that relate to the restaurant being new - our wait person didn't understand Indian food at all and had some difficulty getting the order correct. Instead of wait staff delivering food, kitchen staff brought orders out and then had difficulty figuring out which table to deliver to. Minor things, but overall a good culinary experience. The food is worth the trip and we expect they will get the service process worked out as time goes on. read more

My wife and I tried the new Jax Spice restaurant in St. johns, FL on June 3, 2023. We both agreed this was the best Indian food we've ever eaten in the Jacksonville area. We started with Chicken 65 for appetizer then enjoyed entrees Butter Chicken and Chicken and Shrimp Curry with an order of nan with green chili. Only open 4 days but everything was fresh high quality and absolutely the best. The owner and staff were amazing and very accommodating. Definitely will go back!! Welcome to St. Johns Jax Spice!! read more

The food was good, lots of options. But the atmosphere was subpar for the price you pay. I feel like they are going for an upscale vibe with the prices, but then allow children to run around the tables, with no shoes on, while people are trying to enjoy a nice evening. For the price we paid I would go somewhere else. read more

Food was great. Julia was great. We had the butter chicken and it was absolutely amazing!!!!

My wife and I ate there for the first time tonight. The food was absolutely terrific. She got the butter chicken and I got another chicken curry. The cheese naan was excellent and the service was terrific. The restaurant was very clean and the bar was nice. The ambience was terrific. We will definitely go back and we're looking forward to it. read more

Great feel and ambiance. The food was outstanding. Their level of hot were great and the food was delicious and flavorful. The service was responsive and attentive most of the time. My only complaint is that their lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu, which makes for a very expensive lunch. Therefore, it relegates them to a dinner only restaurant, in my opinion. Overall, it was great. I recommend the chicken tikka masala with level 3 spice. Outstanding. read more

I highly recommend the St. Johns location. The service was great! The food was amazing! So much food and so fresh. The restaurant is so warm and inviting! Thank you to our waiter Connor for answering all our questions and taking such good care of us. We'll be back! read more

A great new place for this area! Returning soon! The food was great, and the service was better!

OMG y'all the people the owner everyone that was there was just having so much fun not to mention the FOOD YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FREAKING AWESOME I EAT EVERYTHING ON MY PLATE this was me and my husband first Yelp event can't wait for more and met so many great people read more

I do not recommend the St. Johns location off 210 exit ( I-95) yet as they are poorly staffed and the food is overpriced and far from being authentic Indian. We went there last night for a special occasion and it looks like the staff is not able to cater to the orders and we waited patiently for two hours and eventually the wait staff apologized as they completely botched the order. After about an hour or wait, the waitress brought appetizer that was cold and I think left over from a different order !! This seems to be a pattern we observed that other patrons are facing the same situation We had to politely leave and find another place to eat not to mention it completely ruined a special occasion in our family. I am not quite sure they even have an Indian Chef cooking the dishes. :-) I think it will take them sometime to iron our all the food, logistics as they are a relatively new location. The one in the Jax beach seems to be running well. read more

Service was good. Ambiance was good too and place was very clean. We ordered medium spicy food but what we got was very blend food. Taste was average. Too expensive for the food quality. read more

We were the very 1st customers at this location on 1st day of soft opening, and gave a raving review, however it went to the original location. 6 months later and all we can say is WOW! Totally impressed with how this restaurant has developed into a more beautiful establishment with great staff, ambiance and food. Johanna was the best, with attentive, friendly service, and so helpful with our food and drink choices. The owners have put their heart and soul into this restaurant, and we are so grateful to have this amazing restaurant in our back yard of Nocatee. Thank you! read more

The issue here is that we went to Jax Spice for Christmas and, frankly, they were not prepared to be open for such a key holiday. The food was fine but the staff seemed harried and were constantly thanking each other for being there and "helping out." There was no bartender on duty so the bar was closed except for ordering wine and beer - the wine we wanted wasn't available. It just totally lacked a holiday vibe and was not what you'd expect on a major holiday. We will order their food in the future but pass on being a walk in customer. read more

The food was excellent! I had the Kadhai curry with shrimp spice level 2 (could have gone to a 3) and it was perfect with their garlic naan. I will be back! read more

Food is very good. Good cocktails and ambience too. Fancy iPad menus with big clear pictures.

One of those Go-To stops when we're in the area. The restaurant is a modern, uncluttered Indian "find" with attentive Staff (& a healthy to-go business for locals). Tonight I ordered the Aloo Gobi (Cauliflower & Potato...this batch, mostly cauliflower) & hubby got the Buttered Chicken. Now north overnight for business tomorrow a.m (had a nice visit w the Grands reading books...especially one on Elections, timely for the nation, this story in Mrs. Carter's kindergarten the same day a new student arrived) read more

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!! Five WOWS. Food - FANTASTIC! Service - FANTASTIC! Ambiance - FANTASTIC! Location - FANTASTIC! Different/Interesting/Unique - FANTASTIC! Julia was our server and she is so friendly and warm. We tried some different dishes, family style: garlic naan, cucumber salad, butter chicken (with basmati rice), chicken mo (Nepalese steamed dumplings - think pot stickers but Nepalese) and we got a free dessert called Gulab Jamun which we got a slight churro vibe but like 3 little fluffy cinnamon donut holes in a light honey syrup. Everything was MOUTH WATERING DELICIOUS! They have a full bar with some interesting Indian beers too. We have been hankering for some really authentic Indian food and this place has it! The butter chicken is OMG delicious! So glad St Johns finally has a fantastic Indian (and Nepalese) restaurant! Try it! Don't miss out on this incredible experience! Sorry, no pic of the dessert because it was eaten too fast. read more

We are so excited to have a really good Indian restaurant closer to home. We have ordered food from the Jax Spice, Jacksonville Beach location to take to our home in the Palencia area several times. We ate at this new location a couple days ago. They've only been open a couple of months. They have a beautiful restaurant and they are preparing to open an outdoors seating area, but it was not ready yet. Just as well because it is too freaking hot right now. I normally order saag paneer, but decided I wanted something different this time. That was an excellent decision, because I ordered Butter Chicken. Hubby and his friend both ordered goat curry. I will start with the Butter Chicken because it was fantabulous! The chicken was cooked perfectly, still tender, not over cooked or tough. The sauce was so very flavorful, it was beautiful! Hubby and his friend ordered their goat curry medium and asked for spices on the side, but they didn't quite get the kind of spice they wanted. They have learned a lesson and will go back to ordering their curry. Indian hot. The only downside was the service could have been better. I will chalk it up to they still have some growing pains. We are looking forward to many more visits to this restaurant and highly recommend it. read more

I had a spicy margarita which was excellent then Saag with lamb spice level 3 and it was fantastic. I like spicy and would get level 4 next time. read more

My husband and I tried JaxSpice and we were not disappointed. I got the butter chicken and he had the goat vindaloo. The butter chicken was delicious. It's served with jasmine rice. My husband enjoyed the goat as well. They ask your spice preference which I really liked. We also had the cheese naan which was really good as well. The service was great, our server was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back! read more

Unfortunately did not hold up to the beach location. Did not receive our meal even 90 min after ordering. Appetizers came out cold. Had to leave without eating. Will be giving this location another try as I think we caught them on a bad night. read more

Our third time to dine here was just as good and satisfying as our first visit. Portions are large so we always take some home. This time Julie, our server asked if we would like some extra rice to take home with our leftover chicken tikka masala. I told her that would be great, so she immediately brought it out at no extra charge. We like the digital menu that shows photos of the dishes. Being fairly inexperienced with Indian cuisine and because of the photos, we tried some new dishes and we have ordered a "new to us" appetizer, veg pakora over and over. Service is efficient and quick. Atmosphere is very nice and clean! It is now our "go to" restaurant for Indian cuisine. read more

Our service was amazing. Johanna made sure we were educated on the menu and had wonderful suggestions. She was attentive and had a good personality. Highly recommend the Lamb Saag and Butter Paneer. read more

There were 6 people in our group and there was enough food to feed at least 4 more people. The quality of the food and service was superb! For appetizers, we had veggie pakora, chicken twist rolls and cheese naan. We were shocked by how big the appetizers were. Again, everything was so delicious. For dinner, our group had chicken lettuce wraps, chicken 65, Kachumber salad with feta, chicken biryani, butter chicken, and saag curry with lamb. The warm, beautiful Indian spices made each dish so delicious and top notch. All the proteins were plentiful and tender in each of our meals. All the staff that we came across were extremely kind, warm, and helpful. We will definitely be back to try other dishes as well as for the inviting hospitality. read more
