JaxSpice - Indian Near Me - Saint Johns, Florida

The food was good but the service was awful. We were there an hour before receiving our appetizer. A lot of people in the restaurant were ignored as they waited to be seated or for their take out orders. The staff would walk right by customers waiting without acknowledging them. The table next to us was seated and they never received water or any kind of service. They had to flag someone down just to get water and to order. As we left the table behind us still never received their dinner. We sat down at about the same time. read more

Excellent visit to the St John's location. We sat at the bar and had outstanding service. The cauliflower appetizer (GOBHI MANCHURIAN) exceeded expectations for flavor and portions. We had two types of naan and a fabulous chicken curry (CHETTINAD). I can't wait to go back and try the Chicken 65 appetizer as well as more of the entrees. The restaurant was hopping and every server was on top of their game. Will absolutely be back soon. read more

Great food and great staff! They lost my pick up order but made up for it with comping my meal - definitely know how to make things right. I really appreciate them and also the host for making sure I was ok while waiting. Will be back! read more

My husband and I tried the new Jax Spice/210 St. John's County this afternoon.....we both agreed this is the best Indian Restaurant since moving up from South Florida! Our Waitress, Eden, was knowledgeable and professional. The space was clean and inviting......portions generous.....all around an enjoyable experience. read more

Amazing food, and service! Kind people and very kind enviroment. The food was delicious, we had tikki madala and some dumplings as well as so much more! 10/10 will be coming back here. read more

My wife and I came here on a Saturday for dinner. We were seated fairly quickly, but after 45 minutes, we still had not seen our server to order drinks, let alone given water. There was a couple that came in 20 minutes after us, sitting right behind us and they were able to order drinks and then order appetizers as well without us even being approached by a server. We asked our hostess a few times during our 45 minute visit for a server and we never got one. At one point, we were even given a snack (fried shankarpali type of basket) as an apology, but we were still not given water or asked for drink orders. We stood up to leave, and even after explaining to the hostess why we were leaving, no resolution was offered. read more

I had very high hopes for JaxSpice since their opening. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. We were there on Saturday, for dinner. PJ was amazing at explaining the dishes! Food was fresh and delicious. If you haven't had the chance to try this new place it is a must in St John's! read more

OH MY GOSH!!! This place is amazing! My first time eating authentic Indian Cuisine and I am SO GLAD I did it here! The food was incredible and abundant. I had Kadhai with Chicken and Shrimp and absolutely loved it! And the service was AMAZING! Connor is a master server - he was there at every moment we needed him. And such a pleasant, knowledgeable guy! Way to go, JaxSpice!!! read more

The food was simply average. I went at lunchtime. Maybe dinner would be a better time, however it just didn't have the punch of flavor that I expect from good Indian food. Not sure if I'll ever repeat. read more

This is a new location, and I know there are hiccups at the beginning. The service was dreadful and we left early with our food in boxes. Ghosted by our server several times, had to chase down other wait staff and the manager to get service. read more

YUM! Our server Johanna was great and the food was delish. Portions are big and good for sharing. Get the chicken 65. Such a good experience will definitely be back! read more

We had the best experience as soon as we walked in the door. Jordan was an exceptional waiter that took the time to give us his favorites and suggestions. With his recommendation, we got the chicken 65 and cheese naan for appetizers. They were amazing. For our entrees we had Chicken Tikka Marsala and Butter Chicken Curry with Baby potatoes. They were melt in your mouth and the curry was so creamy! I have never had Indian food before and Jordan was very helpful. He also recommended the Flying Horse Lager to my husband, and it is now his favorite! Everyone is super nice and we didn't get the name of the wonderful lady that came around to the tables to check in and have a nice conversation. Jax Spice by far exceeded expectations and has become a new favorite restaurant of ours. We can't wait to come back and bring family. read more

Food was fine but the price is much more expensive than comparable restaurants! $30 lunch + tip for one person and water for drink!!!!! A hibachi at Sweet Sushi and Grill that is comparable to what I had here is less than half the price! read more

Very good Indian food! Cocktails were ok but a very pleasant atmosphere . All portions seemed family style size which we were very happy with. Celebrated our daughter's sweet sixteen birthday as she loves Indian food! read more

Born and raised in the UK and now living in Florida, I have patroned many Indian cuisine restaurants thus far, and can truly say that this is one of the most flavorsome and fresh tasting Indian cuisine I have ever eaten. The Tikka Masala has plenty of sauce and they offer different levels of spice to suit your palette. This restaurant has excellent ambiance and tip top service, going to be a regular patron from here on. Thank you to all who cooked annd contributed to our fabulous meal! read more

love the Gluten free options. pekora was very good. chicken curry tasted like spicy tomato soup. eeek. not the usual flavor. also i suspect the oils they use aren't super high quality, as most places in florida. Come on, Florida. quality matters. fresh, whole ingredients matter! read more

We visited the new JaxSpice restaurant at St Johns and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, the service efficient and friendly, and the ambiance comfortable and chic. We ordered Lamb meatballs, Goat Curry, Goat & Lamb Biriyani, and Butter Chicken; and all were superb. We even met the owner, Puja, who was so gracious. This Indian restaurant exceeded expectations for us and I know it will for you too. When you go, ask for Jordan W's table. He will take great care of you! read more

The best indian food hands down! we came in for lunch and Joseph did an excellent job. I highly recommend this place. Harry was the best Indian chef that I know and he won't disappoint. read more

The food is exceptional, but you better have time to kill. Took two hours to get our food and very little communication about what was going on. Waitress blamed it on the expo chef being out, but communication was poor throughout the experience. Kept waiting for Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue to come out and yell "shut this down". Employees kind of hid, probably because they just did not have enough words to apologize. Literally watched staff walk past the table next to us 10 times, for about 30 minutes without even giving them water! BTW, still waiting for my naan...real shame, had high hopes but the service was awful. Food was very good...would be willing to go back, but... read more

Great Authetic Indian food. Awesome ambience and great service!! Totally worth it.

We are absolutely delighted to recommend JaxSpice at St. Johns. We have been hoping for an Indian restaurant more convenient to World Golf Village, and this place more than fills the bill! We have been several times, have brought guests with us, and will doubtlessly continue to make it a regular stop for incredibly good food, fresh, crisp surroundings, and very friendly, helpful service. I am a stickler for fresh ingredients and can always tell when they are not....from the mango lassi (a fruit and yogurt smoothie drink) to the meats, vegetables, sauces and breads, everything tastes wonderful. The mix of flavors are far more appealing than the tired fare we Americans have come to know as Indian food. While the menu offers favorite standards, and does them so well, there are also Nepali inspired dishes that add to the many delicious choices. Spice heat ranges from one to six, so being afraid of hot spice is not an issue. We love that this and its sister in Jax Beach are family owned and run, and not another chain, and we really enjoy the beautiful feel of the place. Even if you have never had Indian before, you must give this place a try! And if Indian cuisine is among your regular favorites, all the more reason to do so! And oh yes..there is a full bar. Enjoy. read more

First time trying this location of JaxSpice and it did not diss appoint! Tried one of my favorites the Chicken Tikka Massala with fresh Garlic Naan. Excellent, excellent flavor! One of the best Indian meals I've had. Service was 5 stars! Great margaritas too! We will be back! read more
