Super enjoyed our visit here! This place is located in a plaza, so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is a bit small. Upon ordering, the girl at the counter offered us a free taste. My husband wanted to try all the dry chicken curry dishes and she had no problem with it :) He finally decided on cashew and pallipayam chicken. I ordered goat, chicken curry and lemon rice, they were all delicious and flavorful! Although I would've preferred a more tender goat. Overall, we will definitely be back! So many more to try!

The service here is absolutely amazing. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a received a warm welcome. The establishment itself is very clean and bright and smells absolutely amazing. We were given samples to try based on our spice preferences and the lovely woman even kind bleh ouch to verify if we had an allergies prior to giving us any samples. The food was delicious! So flavorful and fresh. The portions were large and well worth the price. As a flaky bread lover the bread was one of the best I'd ever tasted. It was a bit of a drive for me but I'd gladly make that drive again.

Pros: you can taste anything before you try, great menu selection, there's a water machine with cold and room temperature water, everything we had was flavorful without overdoing it, fresh and the right temperature, staff was informative and friendly Cons: smaller space, dessert portions were on smaller side What we got (see food pic): Chicken curry with lemon rice (left front), pumpkin halwa (left back ramekin), coconut payasam, beet root halwa (open ramekin on right back), butter chicken (right back), parotta (right front)

Kolapasi Indian Canteen just opened up in St. Augustine at World Golf Village. 170 Registry Blvd Ste 103. If you're a fan of authentic South Indian food, this place is a must-try! Fun fact: Kolapasi means hungry in South India -- and trust me, you'll want to come hungry because the menu is loaded with bold, crave-worthy dishes. Everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The setup is pretty cool too -- you actually get to see the food before you decide, and you can build your own bowl with endless combinations. From classic curries like Butter Chicken, Chettinad Chicken Curry, and Dal Tadka, to specialties like Goat Roast, Kerala Beef Fry, Nilgiri Chicken, and Spicy Coconut Chicken -- the flavors are spot on. They also have plenty of rice options (Lemon Rice, Coconut Rice, Biriyani Rice, and more) plus flaky layered parottas that are perfect for soaking up all that curry goodness. The service is quick and friendly. And don't skip dessert -- the Beetroot Halwa, Tender Coconut Payasam, and Mango Lassi are the perfect way to end the meal. Whether you're in the mood for biryani, curries, or just want to build a hearty custom bowl, Kolapasi is bringing South Indian comfort food straight to St. Augustine. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

From the minute I walked in I know I was going to enjoy the food base off the amazing food aroma in the restaurant. The service was amazing she allowed me to simple a few dishes which was amazing and helped me make a decision on what I wanted in my plate. I would say enjoy the selection that they had, including the goat, which was very juicy and Tinder. Also, they have three desserts. One was a beets, pumpkin, and mango bread. Which I'm not gonna lie the mango bread definitely stole the show for the desserts. It surprise me with the delicious creaminess texture.

Went with family. We can order one curry bowl or two curry bowl with rice or paratha. My parents were craving for some Indian food after long day and it was just right. Loads of mild veg and non veg options. Service was great we could taste the items since we were there for the first time. The ambiance was great.

The level of spice from mild to spicy was on point for all of us as well. Although we might've irritated our server a little bit as we kept switching up on the drinks? I don't remember the name of the one I went with, but I know you could pick up spice level from 1 to 6. I picked four and it wasn't that spicy for me. It was a healthy portion of chickens and vegetables cooked perfectly and a huge side of white. I'm going to assume basmati rice. It was $24 but it was enough for a meal and a half - ish (more if you eat all the rice) I just wish they served some type of bread along with the meal no extra charge

The food is made to order, and they even bring out a small sample first to make sure the spice level is just right, which felt thoughtful and very personal. The location is fantastic right across from the castle in the heart of Old St. Augustine. Before sitting down to eat, we walked around and checked out the Southern Lights Candle Shop nearby and picked up a few things. It's a very nice shop and highly recommended if you're in the area. We had the butter chicken, spinach chicken, and lamb with rice and naan (bread), and everything was absolutely delicious. The setting is a super cute outdoor garden with a relaxed, cozy vibe. They have fans for warmer days and heat lamps when it's cooler, making it comfortable year-round. The drink selection is solid as well. I had two Indian Rupee beers the IPA and the lager and both tasted amazing. The lager was my favorite, but I'd definitely recommend trying both. My wife really enjoyed the wine and sangria; the red sangria was her favorite, though all three were excellent. Great food, warm hospitality, an awesome atmosphere, and a prime location in Old St. Augustine definitely a place worth checking out.

Pros: -consistently get food I expect -naan and other breads are done well -gobi Manchurian is fantastic -meat typically not overcooked, which I find is a common issue with any stewed dish Cons: -expensive (though to be fair, who isn't overpriced these days?) -some bland dishes (korma and maybe one other I have tried but can't remember what dish) -charge for chutneys -no cold onion chutney For the last two things, it is commonplace in the northeast for Indian restaurants to include at least 3 chutneys - tamarind, mint and onion. It's a bit dark inside with more traditional Indian vibes. I'm sure dining in is fine, they are typically cordial and accommodating when I pickup my food.

I strongly encourage anyone thinking about visiting this restaurant to scroll through the reviews and read the owner's replies carefully. What stands out is not just one emotional response or a single bad interaction. There appears to be a pattern of hostile and personal responses toward customers. Instead of addressing feedback professionally, the owner frequently insults reviewers, criticizes their families, and in several replies tells customers to "go back where you came from" or suggests they should leave the country. When this type of language appears repeatedly across multiple reviews, it stops looking like a moment of frustration and begins raising serious concerns about the way customers are viewed and treated. Restaurants are part of the hospitality industry. Even when a customer leaves a negative review, the expectation is that business owners respond professionally and respectfully. Most establishments understand that the way they communicate with the public reflects directly on their business. What is visible here is the opposite. Many of the responses appear confrontational, dismissive, and personal rather than constructive. It is also difficult to ignore the contradiction that this establishment presents itself as an Indian restaurant, yet several replies include statements telling customers to "go back where you came from" or remarks about how this is "America, not India." Language like that understandably raises concerns for many readers. Businesses that serve the public have a responsibility to treat customers equally and respectfully. In the United States, restaurants are considered places of public accommodation and are expected to comply with federal and state civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination based on factors such as race, national origin, or religion. If any customer ever experiences discriminatory treatment or is refused service based on their background, they should know that they have the right to document the incident and report it to the appropriate civil rights authorities or consumer protection agencies. Before deciding to eat here, I strongly recommend taking a few minutes to read the owner's responses to reviews. Those replies often reveal more about a business than the menu or marketing ever will. Respect and professionalism are fundamental to hospitality. Based on what is publicly visible in the review section, those qualities appear to be missing here.
