Garlic Naan
AJ R.

Unfortunately had to give a 4 star review and not 5. Got takeout because who doesn't love Indian food at home. Unfortunately, the chicken vindaloo was on the watery side and lacking spice even at a medium and the kebabs were hard. I must say however, the chaat was very delicious and so was the garlic naan! My review may be different if I ate at the restaurant but I was expecting more for a dinner night in.

Chicken kabob delicious
Wendy B.

Love love love the kabobs I just wanted some meat and vegetables. I wanted a healthy lunch. I came in and sat in the bar area and was served right away, and the server was helpful with choosing which one she thought was better since I never tried any of them. I don't remember the name of the one I went with, but I know you could pick up spice level from 1 to 6. I picked four and it wasn't that spicy for me. It was a healthy portion of chickens and vegetables cooked perfectly and a huge side of white. I'm going to assume basmati rice. It was $24 but it was enough for a meal and a half - ish (more if you eat all the rice) I just wish they served some type of bread along with the meal no extra charge

Busy night and service was slower than expected but still solid delicious food cooked to the correct spice level and full of flavor. This beautiful and very large restaurant is always a treat and leftovers are plentiful. Recommend to anyone .. even a beginner to try the culinary treat!

The food is pretty good with a nice selection. And the ambiance is a bit more upscale than most Indian places I've been. The service today was a bit quick/curt/fast- not super friendly. But this wasn't one of the usual male servers we have.

Butter Chicken* Extra Rice*

All the food here was incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. I would definitely order the butter chicken to go the next time I'm craving Indian food. The inside of the restaurant was very pretty and clean. It looks like a great place to watch sports. I will say the menu being on an electronic tablet was weird and I wasn't a fan. Also, the service felt a bit lackluster, which was disappointing since my mom and I don't get to go out to lunch together very often. I'd like to give it another try at dinner sometime to see if the service is better, but if not, I'll probably stick to takeout.

Absolutely delicious. My favorite place for Indian food. I got the chicken lettuce wraps to start and then the chicken tiki masala

Veg Samosa*
Amie S.

Came here Sunday for lunch and it was delicious. The vegetable samosa had big portions. I would recommend the butter chicken, which has amazing flavor. The Baigan Bharta is a tasty vegan eggplant dish. I didn't enjoy the curry chicken as much, due to how the flavoring wasn't as savory as I expected, it was kind of bland especially compared to the butter chicken. The garlic naan wasn't as doughy/flavorful as some other places that I've tried. Overall I was happy with our experience here and would recommend!

Fish Curry*

Went here on a Saturday night. Their reservation system was down, but we got seated at a decent time despite having one. There's booths on both sides of the restaurant. Club music was playing for background noise, but it wasn't loud. Decent amount of parking in front of restaurant. The food was decent. The Jax tandoori came out colder than expected. The fish curry was house fish which was tilapia. It felt like the fish just sat in the sauce in terms of flavor. Had a level 2 spice, and for someone who doesn't deal with spice well it wasn't that bad. Pretty good Indian restaurant for the area.

Great authentic Indian food. We went with some friends to give this restaurant a try. What a good meal we had! We started out with a few appetizers, CHICKEN 65 Spice sauteed chicken pieces in a delicious sauce. Also ordered CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAP Spiced ground chicken in a light seasoned sauce. Lokendra was our server and was attentive to our needs and answered all of our questions. The restaurant was about half full and the setting was great easy to have a conversation during dinner. We ordered HARIYALI CHICKEN Boneless grilled chicken white meat, marinated, sauteed with mint and GRILLED SHRIMP House masala marinated Jumbo shrimp with mix grilled vegetables. The portions were large and delicious. We finished the night with the pastry balls in a coconut sauce....so good!! Also had a spice margarita which was great except too much ice two sips and it was gone.

Sashaki (I think the name). It tasted similar to a blueberry raspberry vodka martini.

When you first walk in you immediately smell the food. And it's not a bad smell it smells good. You feel like the food is definitely being cooked and not super prepped in advance. Being my first time here it definitely made me excited. The veg pakora was something I tried for the first time I've had this and it was surprisingly crispy with a soft center. The sauces served with it were a great compliment. My main dish the Dhansak Chicken was something else I was new to try. It was definitely rewarding with flavor and spices. I ordered it with mild plus and I will say I should have done the medium. But I'm always in easy with spice. And the naan paired perfectly with it. I will say the rice was dryer than my preference but I also don't typically eat basmati rice often. So it could be exactly as it was supposed to be. That being said the portions were a lot bigger than I was expecting. I definitely felt like I got my money worth of food and I'm very satisfied. My server was good, just the right amount of attentive without being overbearing. Especially since it was a bit busy when we arrived. Considering it was my first time here I needed more time to decide on things. But she suggested naan and I realized I had completely forgot to order any and glad she mentioned it. Overall definitely can recommend to try out this spot. I for one can't wait to go back and try some more new things.

Parking was effortlessly convenient with ample space available. The decor is wonderfully stylish, infusing the spotless environment with rich, traditional Indian aesthetic touches that create a serene and refined atmosphere perfect for a relaxing Saturday meal. I was particularly impressed by their thoughtful seating layout, which offers comfortably separated sections tailored for both families and solo diners.Additionally, I chose Mango lassi as my drink The hospitality was top-tier from start to finish gracious, attentive, and warmly welcoming throughout. Despite it being a Saturday, the restaurant maintained a serene, uncrowded ambiance while offering an extraordinary variety of fresh, piping hot options. For my main course, I selected the Chicken Tikka Masala served alongside fragrant white rice. When it arrived, it proved to be an absolute culinary triumph exceptionally fresh, decadent, and executed with exquisite flavor balance. Between the immaculate cleanliness, peaceful aesthetic, impeccable service, and magnificent cuisine, this hidden gem earns absolute full marks from me. A thoroughly marvelous dining experience I shall most certainly be returning

I recently visited Masala Mantra Indian Bistro in Jacksonville and, unfortunately, my overall…read moredining experience was mediocre. I was hoping for more flavor and authenticity from the dishes, but several items fell short. The Masala Dosa was alright, but it lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting. The Garlic Chili Naan was good in texture and had a nice garlic-chili flavor, but it was noticeably missing salt. I ordered the Chicken Chettinad, which was the biggest disappointment of the meal. The chicken was tough and not tender, and more importantly, it lacked flavor. In traditional Indian cooking, especially with dishes like Chettinad, the meat is typically marinated with spices before being cooked in the gravy. This allows the spices and flavors to penetrate the meat rather than leaving the chicken bland while the curry carries all the flavor. Unfortunately, the chicken in my dish tasted almost like plain, unseasoned chicken that had simply been added to an already-prepared curry base. The gravy itself had some flavor, but the chicken did not absorb those spices, which made the dish disappointing from the first bite. For me, that is a major miss when it comes to Indian cooking. One pleasant surprise was the daal served with the Masala Dosa. It was flavorful, well-seasoned, and probably the standout item of my meal. I always appreciate restaurants that introduce people to Indian cuisine, and I hope this was simply an off day. However, based on my experience, I left feeling underwhelmed. Unfortunately, I don't see myself making a return visit anytime soon.

Before sitting down to eat, we walked around and checked out the Southern Lights Candle Shop nearby and picked up a few things. It's a very nice shop and highly recommended if you're in the area. We had the butter chicken, spinach chicken, and lamb with rice and naan (bread), and everything was absolutely delicious. The setting is a super cute outdoor garden with a relaxed, cozy vibe. They have fans for warmer days and heat lamps when it's cooler, making it comfortable year-round. The drink selection is solid as well. I had two Indian Rupee beers the IPA and the lager and both tasted amazing. The lager was my favorite, but I'd definitely recommend trying both. My wife really enjoyed the wine and sangria; the red sangria was her favorite, though all three were excellent. Great food, warm hospitality, an awesome atmosphere, and a prime location in Old St. Augustine definitely a place worth checking out.

Maa Kitchen on 210 -- Authentic Indian Food That Tastes Like Home!…read more We recently discovered Maa Kitchen in St. Johns, and it has quickly become our go-to Indian restaurant. Everything we tried was incredibly flavorful, aromatic, and tasted genuinely homemade. We had the mango lassi, samosas, chili black pepper lamb, fish fry, Hyderabadi dum biryani, bhindi masala, daal tadka, and green chili garlic naan. Every dish was delicious, with fresh ingredients, beautifully balanced spices, and not overly oily. The dum biryani was fragrant and flavorful, and the lamb had just the right amount of heat. The daal, bhindi, and naan were pure comfort food. The restaurant itself has an upscale, elegant ambiance that makes you feel like you're a guest in a beautiful home. It's warm and inviting without feeling stuffy. We also had the masala chai, gulab jamun, and carrot halwa for dessert--everything was wonderful. A special highlight was meeting Chef Rambabu, who came out to speak with us. He told us he wants his food to feel like it's coming straight from his kitchen to your table. You can taste that philosophy in every bite. Authentic, fresh, aromatic, flavorful, and made with care. Maa Kitchen is definitely one we'll be returning to!
