We had an overall frustrating experience working with Jaxon Construction and Remodeling and would not recommend them.
Before hiring Tyler, I came across several negative reviews and brought those concerns to him directly. He had explanations that seemed reasonable at the time and often placed responsibility on the customers involved. I accepted those explanations, but in hindsight, that was a mistake--our experience aligned closely with many of the same concerns that had already been raised.
At the beginning of the project, Tyler told us the work could be completed in approximately three weeks. Our own expectation and timeline was closer to eight weeks, and our goal was simply to have the project completed by the end of December 2025 so we could reopen our school after winter break with the new space fully functioning. However, the project ultimately stretched to approximately sixteen weeks, with final completion, outstanding issues addressed, and inspections not finished until February 24, 2026. This significant gap between the original representation and the actual timeline added considerable stress and disruption.
A major issue throughout the project was a lack of oversight and coordination. Tyler would communicate plans and expectations to us, but those directions were often not communicated to his crew. This led to repeated situations where workers arrived without clear guidance or had conflicting information, creating confusion, delays, and unnecessary tension on-site.
Workmanship was inconsistent and required multiple follow-ups. Instead of progressing smoothly, several aspects of the project had to be revisited or corrected, extending the timeline and adding stress.
Communication was one of the most frustrating aspects of the entire experience. At the start of the project, Tyler stated he would be in constant communication--so much so that we might feel like we were hearing from him too often. In reality, the opposite was true. Communication was minimal, responses were often delayed, timelines were unclear, and there were multiple instances where he was unavailable due to "emergencies," making it difficult to keep the project on track.
Toward the end of the project, we experienced issues with the flooring, including noticeable flex even after an attempted repair. While a more comprehensive fix was eventually completed, it required significant additional time and raised concerns about quality control earlier in the process.
Overall, the experience was disorganized and lacked the level of management, communication, and execution we would expect from a general contractor. Based on our experience, we would strongly caution others before choosing to work with this company. read more
