As someone who used to work at the old Java Moon many years ago, there is no comparison. The atmosphere is more reminiscent of a fast food chain and just lacks that rustic, eclectic charm that the old local had. I only stopped in for a coffee to go. There was no expected signboard above the counter wiht drinks and prices. I was handed a menu ( which is only is it hard to read without getting out glasses, but would become a major hindrance if/when the Great Adventure crowd shuffles in and you have over a dozen people waiting for coffees to go!) It then took a full 5 minutes to execute a simple tall, latte, and what I received had been stirred (no sugar added) and the foam muddled and brown, was not a tall, and could not have been considered hot by any means... luke warm, I'd say. Was I charged correctly? I really don't know. The price seemed a bit high for a tall. I did receive about 3 apologies as the person taking my order simply could not remember what i'd ordered even though there was no line, no one else waiting, and only a few tables sitting that seemed already served. Twice I saw a huge fiery flare-up through the kitchen window during my time at the counter. All of this makes me just a bit sad that all of the ne people will never know what they missed out on. It also makes it hard for me to recommend the new cafe. However, since I do miss a few of my old favorite dishes, i will probably try lunch there one day. My hopes are not too high. I so wish I'd a more glowing review. This was one of my all time favorite places! read more
