Long line to order. Also bought some coffee beans. Employees tried to work as fast as they could. Breakfast taco came out before the coffee. Food was delicious and super filling! My cookie butter latte was AMAZING! Just the right sweetness! Also got to try some of the earl grey matcha and it was good. Highly recommend this coffee shop!

Super cute coffee shop but WOW does it get busy here!…read more They do themed drinks for cherry blossom season which certainly contributes to how busy it was, but the drink quality and food is genuinely quite good. The line went out the door and it took a while to find a free table. Service is very friendly despite how busy they were. It took a long time to get our drinks and food (at least 10+ minutes) but that came at no surprise: we were there during rush hour right as the Cherry Blossom 5K ended with a bunch of hungry runners arriving at the same time, us included. The Strawberries & Cream Matcha Latte was a popular pick. I enjoyed mine but it didn't stand out too much from other strawberry matcha lattes I've had in my life. My friend ordered the Earl Grey Matcha Latte and topped it with lavender foam and this was definitely the way to go. Also tried the sundried tomato and feta sandwich which was a perfect light snack. The hash brown and egg burrito was also delicious but really dense. Ambiance is a 10/10- they hung faux cherry blossoms from the ceiling and also have a positive affirmation wall in the back for people to contribute to. I would definitely be a regular here if I was a local. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 4/5 - Service: 4/5

So, I grabbed both of these things. Went to my car and decided to check it out right away. That banana pudding didn't miss at all. I loved it. The peppermint tea was high quality as well. Both of these things really make me want to come to Origin again. It is a nice cozy spot with industrial/retro ambiance. The service is great, the baristas know what they're doing. I highly recommend this place! 4.3/5

You self order on a tablet and it's not obvious because when I came in, the screen was updating. I was asking one of the employees and she gave me an attitude, not realizing the iPad required a PIN to go back to the order screen. The menu doesn't correspond to what they have available so that's also confusing. I ended up ordering the Japanese matcha and a BLT sandwich. Food and drink quality was very good (I was impressed). Food was warm and fresh and would recommend adding sweetener with the Japanese matcha. It was pretty packed today, so maybe it'll be less crowded on a weekday.

With an impressively high Yelp rating, I was disappointed to hear the new owners say the glowing reviews are from the previous owner (though I respect the honesty). Despite that, we really enjoyed our visit. The new owners live up to the legacy. First of all, the service is excellent. An older man makes the food and who I assume is his daughter takes the orders. Both are kind. At the end, she gave my daughter a granola bar for free. The menu is a mix of Korean food and the small market in the back sells Korean products and more. It's very fun to browse and pick up some snacks and treats. My daughter loved the juicy grape fruit snacks. To eat, we ordered the Japanese curry and milk tea. Both were full of flavor and made with love. "This is my new favorite meal of all time," said my daughter. She devoured the bowl herself! There's a small parking lot in front of the cafe. It's within walking distance from the Crystal City Metro.

Who knew that there would be a cafe in Pentagon City with this option? The interior is a bit cramped with many cardboard boxes piling up. We were able to order the food at the counter and waited about 5-10 minutes before the food was ready. BRAISED PORK OVER RICE (卤肉饭) - 15.49 Lots of rice, more rice than I could finish with the amount of braised pork belly they give. The pork was very fatty, which made it tasty and juicy, but it wasn't very saucy. There were two halves of a bokchoy and half of an incredibly boiled egg, which was meh. Still, I finished all the toppings and maybe a little less than half of the rice. I was full, but $15.49 for the food was not worth it. Overall, 3.5/5 but bump it to a 4/5 since there's a scarcity of food like this in the area. They sell other comfort Asian dishes too, like coconut chicken cutlet rice and Japanese eel rice.

I hadn't…read moretraveled in a bit, so walking through the airport and suddenly seeing a Colada Shop felt like spotting a little slice of Miami tucked inside the DC area. For anyone who grew up around Cuban cafeterias, that's a comforting sight. I decided to go straight for the classics. The picadillo pastelito was on point. Flaky pastry, lightly glazed with that signature sugar on top, and filled with seasoned picadillo (ground beef) that tasted very close to what you'd expect from a traditional Miami Cuban cafeteria. Honestly, if someone handed it to me without context, I'd assume it came from a ventanita somewhere on Calle Ocho. The café con leche also delivered. They even ask if you want it Miami style with sugar, or you can dial back the sweetness to your liking--which I appreciated. Not every place understands the sacred balance of café con leche and sugar. Now for the jamón croqueta. The flavor was good, but the texture suggested the oil might have been a bit too hot--or maybe ready for a refresh. It had a slightly over-crisp / burnt exterior. Also, traditionally croquetas have the ham blended smoothly throughout, but mine had a couple small jamón bits that didn't seem fully processed. Not a dealbreaker, just something that stood out. Overall though, I'm genuinely excited to see a spot like this here. It's nice finding a place that brings a bit of Cuban coffee culture and pastry tradition into the airport scene. Next time I'm passing through, I'm hoping to explore more of the actual food menu and not just the snack lineup. But for now--pastelitos + café con leche = a solid airport win.

The first time we got coffee and food and it was legit. Five star rating. That was back in early fall so I'd be remiss to try and remember everything. So I'm just going to review today's visit. We stopped in after a day in Alexandria, and the metro was down in crystal city so we had to walk, bus, metro, shuttle hop and repeat. So a busy day. We just wanted a good solid coffee. And a good solid coffee is what we got. The place was low key, despite it being happy hour time (4-8 every day), and Valentine's Day. Which totally fine by me, I don't love crowds encroaching in my personal space. We got a cute little table by the door and helped ourselves to the coffee station area that had some water while waiting to order at the kiosk (you can order at the counter or the kiosk). He got a cafe con leché (hot) (espresso steamed milk and sweet cuban crema) and I got a cortadito (espresso steamed evaporated milk and sweet Cuban crema). Both were phenomenal and hit the spot after a long day. Would highly recommend. I'm eyeballing getting a couple bags of their fresh roasted coffee beans to go home when I leave.

The shop is super clean and has a modern, welcoming energy that works whether you're grabbing a quick treat or sitting down for a full meal. I love the spacious vibrant design of this place, plenty of seating and standing area. I came for the donuts but stayed for the quality. I tried the Black Forest Vegan Donut, and it was soooooooooo delicious. Sometimes vegan pastries can be hit-or-miss with texture, but this one was spot on... rich, flavorful, and definitely a must-try. I wish they have a few more options for vegan donuts though. I had try Kings Hot Cocoa with Oatmilk, so happy they have non-dairy milk substitutions available. I love that they use housemade cocoa here. It's a more sophisticated version of hot chocolate, definitely more bitter than sweet, next time I will ask for chocolate sauce to be added to off balance the bitterness. It's rich and authentic, not that powdery artificial stuff you find at chains. I was surprised by their huge variety. Beyond the wall of donuts, they have a full breakfast menu, plus happy hour and drink specials. It seems like a great place to transition from a morning coffee to a late afternoon cocktail. They also have a rewards program, which is a no-brainer to sign up for if you live in the area with just your phone number. The staff was very nice and patient while I was deciding (it's hard to choose when everything looks so good!). The whole place is very well-kept and feels like a spot where they actually care about the details. The only slight hurdle is the parking situation. It's paid street parking, and it can be a bit of a challenge to find an open spot nearby. Just give yourself a few extra minutes to circle the block or be prepared to walk a short distance it's def worth it!
