This is the best breakfast place in Flagler Beach. When in Flagler we probably eat here the times a week. My favorite is the shrimp and grits. My wife's is the crab cake Benedict. This is the best quick breakfast. The portions are reasonable as well as the price. Everything is cooked fresh so it's hot and yummy. I had to come back a second time because the multi grain walnut pancakes were so good. We also wanted to explore other items on the menu. The service is excellent so 5 stars rating. Ok I need to change my review. It is not quick. I guess we were lucky the last time we ate here. We have been waiting 40 minutes for breakfast. While the wait staff have kept us in water and coffee they have not offered any explanation of why we are waiting. At one point no one in the dinning room had food. I hope it is at least good this time. One more update. The food was great just a long wait. The wait staff finally explained the cook quit and someone else did not show up. read more

Shout out to Java Joint Beachside GrillI. I had been wanting to check it out for a while but it's always packed. Hubby and I arrived very early yesterday (love that they open at 7:00) and parked. By the time we walked up the ramp Rhonda had noticed we had our two dogs and she had a table, water bowl for our dogs and two dog treats waiting for them. (Talk about Service!) Menu was pretty expansive. We opted for a Bloody Mary (him) and I had a Java Mocha. We had their special banana bread French toast and a side of corn beef hash and gravy and biscuits. All very tasty and all with an amazing ocean view. While there, several other employees checked on us frequently. I love how friendly and hometown it was. The service was less than good. The food was okay. The servers acted like it was a hassle to wait on us. I had to go out of my way to ask someone for a water refill. My friend, who invited us to join him since he's been there before, was embarrassed for us and was disappointed in how we were treated. Perfect breakfast on the beach spot. Everyone loves the Java Joint. The service is beyond friendly and helpful! We were waiting for a table and it was quite hot out and the staff offered us water while we waited. They have an outdoor deck for dogs as well! Prime spot to watch the waves. Java Joint reopening - went to the Java Joint around 1230pm, the place was about 25% of capacity with our party of 4. Kitchen very slow! Had to hunt for a coffee refill and the food was not up to their prior standards. It is apparent that they need a good manager as the adequate amount of servers were huddled in the kitchen and not on floor. 2 of us got our food and no one noticed that 2 orders never came out. No check backs. We were told the ticket was lost. No apology from manager and no attempt to comp anything. Additionally the interior of restaurant was very warm and uncomfortable. Won't be back for a while as we were former regulars prior and during covid. Ownership needs to wake up! read more

I ordered the Tomato and Spinach Benedict ( I then was able to substitute the Spinach with mushrooms) with hashbrowns. My eggs Benedict was incredible- the hollandaise was deliciously creamy with a hint of lemon! We all cleared our plates! The hashbrowns are nothing special so order the grits when you eat here! We've visited on prior weekends to the area. I talked about the French toast made with banana nut bread for days the first time it had it. I've ordered it 2 other times. Yum! Service is good, staff is cheerful and helpful. The view is great, very beach feel to the place. This time we visited Sept 18th (2020) for breakfast during a pandemic with orders to wear masks. Great location and ambiance right by the beach. Had to take off a star because it took over 40 minutes to get food. They were very nice and definitely busy. The crab cake Benedict was awesome, my mom loved her java wrap, and my grandpa loved his bowl (he was the most upset about the wait). Great spot with wifi and beautiful view. Unfortunately, disposable plastic is given to guests, even to those who are staying to eat. Plastic is destroying the beautiful ocean that this restaurant overlooks. This review has nothing to do with the delicious food. It is about the business practice of using disposable plastic to save time and money. Too many Flagler business owners are comfortable with this. Pls take ownership and use real cups and ramekins.
