Java Joint reopening - went to the Java Joint around 1230pm, the place was about 25% of capacity with our party of 4. Kitchen very slow! Had to hunt for a coffee refill and the food was not up to their prior standards. It is apparent that they need a good manager as the adequate amount of servers were huddled in the kitchen and not on floor. 2 of us got our food and no one noticed that 2 orders never came out. No check backs. We were told the ticket was lost. No apology from manager and no attempt to comp anything. Additionally the interior of restaurant was very warm and uncomfortable. Shout out to Java Joint Beachside GrillI. I had been wanting to check it out for a while but it's always packed. Hubby and I arrived very early yesterday (love that they open at 7:00) and parked. By the time we walked up the ramp Rhonda had noticed we had our two dogs and she had a table, water bowl for our dogs and two dog treats waiting for them. (Talk about Service!) Menu was pretty expansive. We opted for a Bloody Mary (him) and I had a Java Mocha. We had their special banana bread French toast and a side of corn beef hash and gravy and biscuits. All very tasty and all with an amazing ocean view. While there, several other employees checked on us frequently. I love how friendly and hometown it was. This is the best quick breakfast. The portions are reasonable as well as the price. Everything is cooked fresh so it's hot and yummy. I had to come back a second time because the multi grain walnut pancakes were so good. We also wanted to explore other items on the menu. The service is excellent so 5 stars rating. Ok I need to change my review. It is not quick. I guess we were lucky the last time we ate here. We have been waiting 40 minutes for breakfast. While the wait staff have kept us in water and coffee they have not offered any explanation of why we are waiting. At one point no one in the dinning room had food. The service was less than good. The food was okay. The servers acted like it was a hassle to wait on us. I had to go out of my way to ask someone for a water refill. My friend, who invited us to join him since he's been there before, was embarrassed for us and was disappointed in how we were treated. Perfect breakfast on the beach spot. Everyone loves the Java Joint. The service is beyond friendly and helpful! We were waiting for a table and it was quite hot out and the staff offered us water while we waited. They have an outdoor deck for dogs as well! Prime spot to watch the waves. I ordered the Tomato and Spinach Benedict ( I then was able to substitute the Spinach with mushrooms) with hashbrowns. My eggs Benedict was incredible- the hollandaise was deliciously creamy with a hint of lemon! We all cleared our plates! The hashbrowns are nothing special so order the grits when you eat here! We've visited on prior weekends to the area. I talked about the French toast made with banana nut bread for days the first time it had it. I've ordered it 2 other times. Yum! I'm super happy to have found this amazing coffee shop near my house. I've been to coffee shops around the world, and I have to say this is one of my favorites. Where else can you drink great coffee or cappucino and have an unobstructed view of the ocean? Not many places my friends. At least not enough in America. The Java Joint rocks. Free wifi. Great food - yummy breakfasts and lunch...mimosas...need I say more? The staff are super friendly and become family after a few visits. Let me start off by saying,, I wish I could give this place 10 stars! This had to be the most organized, well-staffed, and friendly place we visited the whole 5 days of our trip to Flagler Beach. Unfortunately, we didn't find it until our last day here. Other restaurants and bars could take a lesson from this place. More than ample staff that worked as a team, so you would have 5-6 different servers to get you anything. This place treats your dog like royalty. Fresh ice water and treats. By far the best coffee and breakfast! So fresh, reasonably priced, huge portions and sooooo delicious! We felt like family here. The staff were so warm and friendly.
