This review is based on my visti to Java Joint on Saturday, August 8th at approx 10:10 AM The Java Joint has been a favorite of locals and summer tourists for many years. Located right on the beach, it's upstairs open air balcony offers up breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. It has a small indoor area as well. The servers are all young, leggy, tanned hippie chicks. Nothing wrong with that, The food, especially at breakfast time, is quite good; French Toast, and the Omelettes are good while not breaking your wallet. On my last visit I ordered coffee and it was delivered in a Poppa John's Pizza mug and was decidedly ordinary; reminiscent of 7-11 coffee. You would think that given the name "Java Joint," they would serve up a good blend. The coffee though was not a deal breaker The marbled rye toast and my two eggs scrambled was very tasty. So why 2 Stars? I would have given them less than zero but the service was typically good. What disturbed me was that we're in the middle of a pandemic and not one employee; the greeter, the servers, or any one of the staff that moved throughout the balcony wore masks or gloves in a section that every table was full of customers. As the place began to fill up my wife and I mentioned that not one of the customers, not a single one, seemed bothered. After my meal I went to the restroom inside and was shocked to see that every table, every seat in the room was full of patrons that were sitting side by side as I walked by them in my mask, The bathroom, by the way, was very clean. I have to say that between every table upstairs in which all the tables had customers, there was a large bottle of hand sanitizer on the ledge. Geez, that's going to help you when somebody sneezes or coughs, When we were leaving people were lining up to get seated which is typical for a sunny Saturday morning. Like I said it is a popular place. Not one of them was wearing a mask. I hope the manager or the owner reads this review, They know exactly how it is there, The thing is: people come for the food, come for the view, come for the beautiful hippie chicks. What they don't come for is the Covid-19. Get your act together. read more

The first time we went to Java Joint I knew it would be a favorite spot. This cute little restaurant has seating inside or outside with amazing ocean views. The inside is small but still has plenty of tables if you feel like sitting inside. The outside deck has a lot of tables with views of the ocean but can get kinda hot depending on were you sit an where the sun is in the morning. The food is great an they have great an they have plenty to choose from. The pancakes are huge an very good that even one pancake is enough sometimes. The Kahlúa French toast is also very good an the flavor is amazing. The Omelettes are also very tasty and you can choose what you want in them. The service is great and your coffee cup never stays empty. They also have a variety of muffins that they toast that are very good as well. The lunch menu is also great with a Variety of things to choose from. I highly recommend making a stop to try the Java joint. Great food and great service. read more

Love, love, love it. Normally, we go for breakfast and no matter what you order its delicious. My only complaint is I wish they had more seating, especially outside. I don't think I've ever gone and been seated right away. All their food is delicious. Try anything. read more

While visiting from California we decided to stop in for lunch. The staff greeted promptly and with great enthusiasm. The vibe is beach and friendly. We were treated like locals. The food was outstanding! The grilled mahi mahi tacos were delicious and fresh. The bacon cheeseburger was huge and tasty. Hard to consume such a large serving but we managed. LOL. The view of the ocean was priceless. The parking is easy. Service was very fast. Definitely need to come back to sample additional menu items. They also have a decent beer and spirits offering. My family and I came to Java Joint for breakfast. I was planning to order something lightly, then a waitress mentioned about Banana Nut French toasts. I generally LOVE banana nut, so of course, I can't say no. Once I got my plate, it smelled AMAZING! This smell made me feel like I am home. And I was thinking to put some maple syrup, but I wanted to try to eat without first. I ate it for the first time, MIND-BLOWN! So light and not too sweet. No maple syrup needed! 10/10 My family were really enjoying with their meals! They even approved it too! So we all gave this rate, 5/5. read more

Excellent late morning breakfast on the balcony after a long walk on the beach. I got the special of the day: quesadilla with chorizo, egg, cheese, spinach, and mushrooms. It was HUGE and so flavorful. I passed on a mimosa but they looked wonderful. Maybe next time. They allowed my doodle on the balcony and showered her with treats, pets, and lots of love....so how could I not give them 5 stars. read more

The BEST grits south of the south. Floridian breakfast joints usually make the mistake of making grits with water... Yuck! Not this place. They got the memo.. grits should be creamy and delicious, and oh my goodness they sure are. You can get a half order for $6, or a full order for $11 with blackened grilled shrimp. Yum! My husband got the Caesar salad wrap, also quite good. Highly recommend. Also, be prepared to see a crowd .. other people also know it's delicious! read more

Went here today for breakfast and WOW what a great little spot for a different twist of breakfast . I had the blackened mahi omelette and it was like no other omelette I ever tried . My wife a daughter had breakfast bowls and both loved them as well . Great coffee and excellent attentive service . Me and my fiancé came to Flagler Beach for 4th of July week. He came across this dive on yelp, so we decided to check them out. They are open from 7am-2pm, so you gotta catch them early. He had the Mexi burrito w a side of home fries and I had to Java burrito w a side of grits, plus a half order of French toast. It's crazy how the simplest foods can be so great. Both burritos were delicious! (If you don't like beans, I wouldn't suggest the Mexi burrito) The French toast was probably the best French toast I've ...EVER had. It was crispy with the perfect French toast flavor. Not soggy at all. If you're ever in Flagler, or just driving through during the early day ... please stop by here. You won't regret it! read more

Who doesn't enjoy a delicious breakfast sitting next to the Atlantic Ocean? The Java Joint has always been our go to spot for breakfast and/or coffee! I enjoyed the Philly Cheesesteak Breakfast Burrito today. (It's a new item.) I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was rather good! I love a good Cheesesteak, so if can incorporate that into breakfast, sign me up. Their breakfast is always good and they give you plenty to eat all while keeping the prices low. Where else can you go for breakfast on the ocean for about $30? The days that we don't eat breakfast there, we usually walk up and grab a coffee. The food and view really make this place great! I got the crab Benedict and shrimp and grits and they were both superb. They're somewhat covid safe. There is a ton of outdoor seating and there are dividers between tables, but none of the servers wear masks, which is pretty disappointing. Def don't go if they're busy. Came here with my family while visiting Flagler beach and WOW!!!! This place definitely lives up to the reviews. Not the greatest pictures--they definitely don't do the food justice. We got a little of everything, and EVERYTHING was amazing! I love that they have a half order of French toast because a full order would have been too much food. My favorite breakfast place in Flagler Beach so far! All of the staff was friendly, which I always appreciate. The mimosa was great (of course) and the coffee drinks were out of this world. Totally quintessential small ocean vibe w/ great food and wait staff. Just breakfast and lunch but always fun on the deck and with a great view just across from the Atlantic Ocean. Always eat accompanied by the sound of the surf! They don't have a liquor license ( just beer and wine) but they do make great Bloody Mary's by exchanging the vodka for Sake. This is the best breakfast place in Flagler Beach. When in Flagler we probably eat here the times a week. My favorite is the shrimp and grits. My wife's is the crab cake Benedict. But everything is fabulous. The staff work as a team do each one is making if your coffee and water are full.
