It is 100% owned and governed by coffee farmers from Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, and Ethiopia, so you are basically supporting the farmers directly when you buy their coffee. I also like the Honeybear Cold Brew: smooth, slightly sweet and refreshing. The Mexican Mocha is another good choice if you like chocolate with your coffee. The coffee shop is spacious with high ceilings, good natural light, brick walls, and an industrial style with metal tables and stools. There are communal tables, board games, and an area that can be rented for groups. You can still taste the espresso bitterness that's perfectly balanced with the oat milk and a hint of sweetness that leaves me thinking about when can i come back and get another cup of it. The owner is extremely nice and has made every experience coming here an absolute joy. Can't wait to see what they do with their new Natomas location opening soon! From where I was standing (in front of the register) I didn't notice they had a pastry menu sitting on top of the pastry box, the black drink menu blocked my view. The inside is very small with 4 high chairs to sit at and there's a table outside to sit at as well. You go in for "just a quick coffee" and suddenly you're emotionally attached to the place and judging every other café like, "Yeah... but Ayahz does it better." First of all, the coffee is elite. Not "yeah that's pretty good" coffee. This is "why does this taste better than my life choices" coffee. The espresso is smooth, not bitter, not burnt, not trying to fight you. The drinks are balanced, not overloaded with sugar, and actually taste like someone behind the bar knows what they're doing (which they clearly do). Every time I come here, my drink is perfect. No roulette wheel of "let's see what it tastes like today." It's consistent. That alone deserves an award. The menu is great too. You've got your classics, you've got fun specialty drinks, and everything sounds good enough that you stand there for three minutes like, "Okay but what if I get two drinks?" (No regrets. Only mild financial consequences.) Now let's talk about the vibe. The place is clean, cozy, and has that perfect "I can sit here for 10 minutes or 3 hours and no one will judge me" energy.
