    DELISH! And fabulous coffee!
    Lizz H.

Coffee Works definitely works for me! I am so impressed with this local, family owned business. It has been operating since 1982 and I am just getting acquainted with all the incredible coffees, pastries and hot food items they offer. I found it on yelp when I was in Sacramento for an appointment. Peeps were saying a lotta great things. I wanted a coffee and something to go with it... so let's go! Parking is always a concern in Sacramento midtown. The Yelp business profile mentioned a few private parking spaces down the alley behind the shop. I found them easily. Nice! I was trying to take it all in as I entered. It was obvious this was not your trendy, hipster coffee hangout. But rather the definite neighborhood, community place to drink good coffee (mine sure was) and have a breakfast nosh, an afternoon scone or anything else from the vast array of delicious looking food items. Impressive! Sooo many choices of everything! I have photos:) It was an off hour morning visit but there were many people enjoying their food and drinks. I settled up on an extra hot, oat milk coffee drink and raisin scone. Of course I had to buy some of those big, good-looking pastries to take home too. Candice, the woman behind the counter, was just the perfect, chill person for this sweet coffee shop. She was patient, friendly and a kind person. A few minutes of interaction with her and you felt so at ease. She seemed to know everyone who stopped in too. And very knowledgeable about all the coffee drinks and pastries. You are definitely appreciated, Candice! Older people, young, even a mother and two kids were comfortably settled at old fashioned tables having a moment. There is even an area where items for kids are available to play with. Entertainment. Wow! A nice patio in the front for warm days. And to bring your favorite pooch. How could you not want to support this local, neighborhood business. Check it out. I am so glad I did. Thanks, Coffee Works!

What a beautiful well kept secret! I never knew this coffee shop was here in all the years I lived downtown before. I wanted to try a new coffee shop today and am on the way to my son's grave. The pastries look like they are made with love! I seen several options such as spiced vanilla latte and wanted a vanilla latte no spice which was no problem when I placed my order. Do you love strong coffee?? This coffee is fresh and will put together so delicious and strong, but not overpowering strong to where you can't stand it. My husband tasted it first I said how is it? He said I like it and I said oh gosh, it's strong, but I went to take a drink of it and I was surprisingly happy that it wasn't overly strong, but I definitely know this is gonna give me the kick I need today. Prices for two came out till about $17 Please note that you have to let them know to add the tip in if you're using your Apple Pay or card which I did not know and I felt so bad because I like to tip, but they were so sweet about it and gave me no hassle. They were appreciative that I was there and the service was really great

    So many options

I have been wanting to check out Coffee Works for a while now and I was finally able to walk over today while my daughter attended her Jiu Jitsu class. The inside is homey and inviting and the staff were very welcoming. The inside was decent sized with seating on either side of the coffee shop and it was filled with regulars. I was overwhelmed in a good way with the amount of pastries and breakfast items, but finally decided on the Coffee Cake, Plain Croissant, Herb Egg and Prosciutto Croissant and the Ham and Cheese Croissant. We also ordered the Vanilla Coke Cold Brew (yes, soda) and the Strawberry Peach Iced Tea. The Herb Egg and Prosciutto Croissant was very good! I would definitely order this again next time and the Coffee Cake was nice and moist, but not too sweet. The Vanilla Coke Cold Brew was very interesting and the soda just somehow worked well with the cold brew - I would order this again too! Overall, I think Coffee Works is a great little coffee shop and I love that it's convenient for me to visit on Saturday's now! There are so many other pastries and breakfast items that I want to check out as well as their drinks! I'll be back next weekend!

Service, food and drinks are always top tear! The staff are lovely and you can tell they enjoy their jobs which is everything. Support local small businesses y'all!

I've been coming here for over 30 years. It's a great neighborhood cafe that plays the best music ever! Come and enjoy the art and the ambiance and the friendly staff.

Was out refilling our coffee beans from another coffee spots and grabbed drinks there. But was also in the mood for some breakfast eaeats, so we decided to check out Coffee Works for the first time after. There's always a bit of hesitation going to a new spot, as you don't knknow what to order or what's good, and don'twant to hold up the line. So we told the lady behind the counter who was extremely helpful. She told us about their various pastry and breakfast food options, and that thethey're made fresh each mornikeyand then brought to their shop. Food: Berry Parfaits (x2) Bacon & egg burrito Turkey & Provlone Croissaint Overall: Friendly and helpful staff, and good good. Would definitely check this place out again if in the need of a breakfast bite. And for sure want to come back and check out their coffee.

From the moment we walked in, I noticed all the little details that made the space feel so inviting, like lots of plants, good music, and a cozy atmosphere that made me want to stay awhile (which, we did). It's the kind of place where you can meet up with a friend, get some work done, or simply enjoy a slow morning. The coffee was excellent, and I have to mention the chocolate croissant because it was easily one of the most chocolate-filled croissants I've had in a long time. So good! Another thing I appreciated was how spacious it was. There were plenty of tables and room to spread out, which was perfect since I came with my kiddo. She loved the open space and even turned it into her own little dance floor while I enjoyed my coffee for a bit. Overall, this is a wonderful local spot with a welcoming atmosphere, delicious coffee, and plenty of space to relax or work. I will definitely be back!

Honestly my first thoughts were, "why is there a car in here?" but Im sure car enthusiasts would fancy seeing a luxurious prestige vehicle in a cafe and everyone else would find it interesting as it is unusual for a cafe to just have a car right in the middle of its establishment. Their menu isnt overwhelming and only has a few selections, theres good pastries to try out as well. Coffee was alright and the pastries were ok, overall I guess I was just more distracted by the business's set pieces. In any case, check the place out, parking can be a pain if it gets busy, typical downtown sac. Issues.

The employee was talking on their phone a bit throughout the time I was there, but I didn't mind since I was still deciding on a drink and not ready to order. I got the mocha drink and the Finjan coffee. I enjoyed both but I think I liked the mocha drink more. They had a wide variety of dessert that looked amazing. I want to come back and try them one day! They were absolutely mouth-watering, but too early in the day for me to have sweets. Their coffee house is quite large, with a lot of seating. It seems like a nice place to study! Wushiland Boba is my new favorite spot for boba in Sac!…read more I found out about it from a recent Feed Mei Mei YouTube video, and of course I had to check it out asap. I looked up the origin and it turns out Wushiland is a spin off from the Taiwanese boba chain 50嵐 (if you speak mandarin, it says Wushi Lan). Located on Sutterville in a tiny strip mall with minimal parking right next to the Freeport area where there are plenty of good eats, some of which are my favorite places in Sac to eat at, Wushiland is in an optimal location. Bright, clean, and with a decent amount of seating, you have the option to order from kiosks or up front at the counter. The AC was blowing cold and a nice respite from the El Niño heat. The workers are friendly and drinks are made quickly. Be advised that the drinks are voluminous, especially if you're like me and ask for less ice. Coming from someone who considers Chicha San Chen their favorite Taiwanese tea chain (but alas we don't have it in Sac), the difference in quantity is huge. Obviously if you're looking for a refined style of tea chain, Wushiland doesn't compare, but still the taste of their teas shine through and there is a good variety for everyone's palate. The first time I tried their earl grey tea because I have been craving an earl grey for a while, and that was deliciously smooth. The mini boba were so fun to chew on, and I usually prefer them over the regular size. They provide a ton of boba here as well. The next time I had their yakult green tea and that was very refreshing indeed. Both times my husband went with fruit teas, and had nice remarks to say about both of his drinks. He also tried their new QQubes and their texture was very QQ (I had a sample). We will most certainly return to Wushiland, especially since it's so accessible. Prices are standard, and honestly for the amount of tea you get, it's very worth.

You can get brewed teas, yakult teas,…read morebrown sugar drinks, macchiatos and even ice cream drinks, which not a lot of other boba shops have. And you can get an extra shot of tea if you want your drank strong. Prices range from $5.25-$7. I've tried the roasted oolong milk tea and the grapefruit green tea and they've been on point. I usually get them both at 50% sweetness. Another thing they offer here that some other shops don't have are the mini boba balls. My friend ordered the uji matcha latte macchiato with the mini balls, and he wanted another one to-go! The shop is a tad small and cozy(ish) since the seats and tables are close together. The theme is very colors of a bee; black and yellow. There's a long bench with cushions so it's a good place to sip and chill, and people come here to study it seems. Ive been here a few times mainly on a Saturday and all 3x it's been busy. They have 2 kiosks you can order from, or you can order from a human. Wushiland choose a good area of Sac to post up shop because it's the currently the only boba drink shop (for now) near Hollywood Park/Land Park and very close to Sac City College. They're located in the corner of a strip mall type plaza. And parking isn't too bad. Overall, good drinks for a reasonable price and service is decent. They have a fun logo, too. I would definitely come back here to try more of their drinks!
