Java Café is such a cozy little spot in a quaint town. I had the veggie avocado toast and it was fresh and flavorful. The veggies are served raw per the kitchen and it worked well, though I do wish there had been a little more avocado. Still, it was delicious and satisfying. I paired it with the rooibos hibiscus tea which was light and refreshing. They also have self serve water and a clean up yourself setup which keeps the vibe laid back. Food is served during breakfast hours only, but they do keep a grab and go refrigerated case stocked with premade items if you stop by later. Staff were friendly and kind, and the atmosphere is extremely inviting with plenty of nooks to settle into. One of the highlights is a painted chess table that adds to the artsy charm and is perfect for a photo. They also have a shaded outdoor patio if you want to sit outside. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in the area and looking for good food, tea, and a comfortable place to relax.

My husband and I love to explore little towns in Illinois. El Paso was adorable. This coffee shop outshines any I have ever been to. The ambience was A+++, the avocado toast was so yummy and my vanilla ice coffee was perfection. The service is warm, friendly, and fast. I will come back.

very inviting inside. i like how the cafe is on the old building. there are small business things you can buy inside. their desserts looked amazing. i got a small vanilla iced latte decaf. it was really good. i'd recommend this spot, the outside was really cute as well.

Coffee was delicious-they have tons of flavors to customize your drink!

We were staying above the cafe in an adorable Airbnb and loved the convenience of the cafe for morning/afternoon coffee and food! The staff were so friendly and accommodating, even when they were very busy. Coffee was delicious and I would def make a stop off the highway for it when traveling through the area again! They also had a nice outdoor patio for when the weather is nice, along with handmade gifts/art for sale. Very cute place!

Vintage vibes all over, enticing blend of large outdoor patio, games and plenty of social space inside, big menus, and fun seasonal lattes made for a fun quick drop in heading west for the weekend, I could see most anyone enjoying this neat small town nook. I had the pumpkin caramel latte, think it was, extremely sweet and plastic bottle syrup forward flavors but did the trick to spice up my roadtrip. There's no crafted smug practice here both refreshing and casually accessible. Noticed lots of games, easy going staff, and anyone would find something to nibble on. It was a perfect late afternoon which tempted lounging outside but I let some others noisily treating themselves take the task for me!

Great coffee and enjoyable atmosphere. It's always a busy place though it's sometimes hard to find a place to park.

The employee was courteous, efficient and friendly. There were several open tables but I got it "to go". The latte was seriously one of the best I've ever had and the pecan pie was delicious! Between some pretty good coffee and a delicious-looking menu written in and on a unique backing, this place is a gem. I got my usual Iced Caramel Latte and is was good. The staff was friendly. I wanted to sample more of their menu, but I was headed to Matthiessen State Park, so I had already eaten a decent meal before heading out. I would love to go back some day and try their ice cream and baked goods! :3

This family-friendly alehouse prioritizes local partnerships and menu creativity, earning its place as a surprise standout in central Illinois' dining scene. Culinary Highlights The menu shines with elevated bar classics, including Ropp Jersey Cheese curds sourced from Normal, Illinois. ~a crispy, creamy nod to regional agriculture.  Wings tossed in bourbon-Sriracha glaze and lemon-pepper buffalo rub draw regulars, while the Italian beef sandwich, paired with sweet potato fries and maple mayo, offers a sweet-savory twist. The showstopper is the custom steak-blend burger: certified Angus beef smashed on a brioche bun, smothered in American cheese, and served with loaded fries-a "step above" typical pub fare. Surprise Standout Culinary Chronicles' sleeper hit is the maple mayo dip, a sweet-smoky companion to crispy sweet potato fries.
