There were multiple explanations such as small nerve branches which did not respond to a number of numbing medicines including Lidocane, We are new to Auburn and began seeing Dr. Wallace about a year ago. The first thing I discovered was that this great dentist could not only get my teeth numb, but also uses a procedure to inject the medicine which is amazingly PAIN FREE. I am in the process of having 10 crowns performed (7 are implants). The work so far has been brilliant. No pain. Further, the treatment plan has been coordinated carefully with Dr. Hakimi of Auburn for the extractions, dental implant surgery and the timing of the placement of the crowns. The entire process has been coordinated between the dental offices seamlessly. Further, our daughter who had received an opinion and outrageous quote for a procedure plan for 12 teeth, drove up from the bay area to see Dr. Wallace. He found that only a few teeth actually required treatment and performed the procedures for a very reasonable fee. I am 67 years old and have been treated by numerous dentists in the San Francisco Bay Area. These dentist all came very highly recommended and charged mind blowing fees. Not one of these dentists performed the procedures any better than 'Dr. Wallace and in some cases the quality of the work was materially less than received from Dr. Wallace and with terrible pain. When I moved to the Granite Bay area, I visited Dr. Bannai for the first time as I was interested in finding a dentist that was closer to where I reside. The office was clean, the staff was friendly, and my first impression was good. During my exam, Dr. Bannai stressed to me that I needed multiple crowns -- one of them "urgent." He provided me a "treatment plan" that was extremely stressful and expensive. I've always been meticulous about my dental health throughout my life, as well as visiting my previous dentist every six months, and I've never been told I needed crowns prior. This visit with Dr. Bannai really concerned me as I thought something was seriously wrong with my teeth all of a sudden. I decided to go back to my previous dentist for a second opinion. After reviewing Dr. Bannai's treatment plan as well as a full exam, my previous dentist laughed and mentioned it appears Dr. Bannai needs a new boat and did not agree whatsoever with his "treatment plan". I was blown away to hear this, but also relieved that I did not need all this work done. I later returned to Dr. Bannai's office for a separate appointment that I had booked previously for picking up my night guards. He of course asked me if I had booked an appointment to get the "urgent" crown taken care of. I politely mentioned that I visited my previous dentist and showed him the treatment plan, and he mentioned that he did not agree with the need for the urgent crown or multiple crowns in the near future currently. Dr. Bannai immediately became defensive and rude, and shortly after, I was handed a letter dismissing me from the practice and noting to visit one of his "buddies" if I wanted to see another dentist in the area. Honestly, I would never continue to see him for dentistry in the future due to this experience anyhow, just wanted to pick up my night-guards that I paid for. I left this office feeling shocked and disappointed. I believe patients should feel comfortable seeking second opinions without fear of being treated unprofessionally or dismissed. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Also, just to note, it's been 7 years since this experience and no crowns and no issues with my teeth to date. Beware of Dr. Bannais aggressive and inappropriate plans for drilling away at teeth that may not be necessary.

We feel like we're going to visit friends who clean, polish, and, when necessary, fix our teeth! I have a tooth with a shape anomaly that we affectionately refer to as my "corn tooth" since the resin filling in it starts to turn a bit yellow after ten years or so. Dr. Gilbert did such a great job on in it 12 years ago that I only recently felt it needed a revision. He offered me the laser option this time, and being a pain-weenie, I was a little hesitant. Well, I'm not anymore! It was completely painless! No shots, no bleeding, no nothing except for a really nice repair! The worst part of it is the thing they put in your mouth to hold it open (bring some chapstick or lip moisturizer for that one) and the typical icky smells of having an old filling removed and a new one put in - which would've been present if he'd fixed it the conventional way. No big deal at all! For decades, I've been so fastidious about making sure my teeth are clean so that I can avoid the pain of shots and fillings. I have a hatred for shots based upon a fear of pain! But it's like Dr. Gilbert is trying to so assuage that fear that I'm thinking about coasting a bit. How cool is it that I can blame my dentist for slacking on my dental hygiene! Bottom-line, it all starts with being under the care of a great dentist. And I found one with Dr. Elias C. Almaz, in Granite Bay. I have been going to have my teeth taken care of for the past 64 years since age 18, when I joined the USAF. Many of dentist have looked and worked in my mouth. But the best has been Dr. Almaz and his team at Boardwalk Dentistry. My recent single lower molar dental implant went so smoothly I had no idea it was ever installed. From the initial consultation with Dr. Almaz I knew exactly what to expect. He clearly explained the whole procedure. And when he installed the "implant post" it went so smoothly I did not even know when he was finished. Did not feel a thing. It has been a month now since I had the final crown installed and that process was outstanding. He made the new crown fit so perfectly I do not know it is even there in my mouth. Excellent bite. Here I am at 82 years old and able to now enjoy eating a steak and other meats. Should have had this done years ago. I am very fortunate to have found Dr. Almaz and his team.

I have complex…read moredental issues and I have undergone multiple procedures and dental surgeries both inpatient and outpatient involving multiple dentists and oral surgeons. I have paid out-of-pocket for many of them. Dr. Wada is honest, compassionate and his price is beyond reasonable given what I have been charged by other so called specialists. Dr. Wada gave me my smile back and the ability to eat normally, and at a reasonable price. Dt. Wada is simply the very best and I highly recommend him.

I feel that they have done especially well in terms of keeping my smile tuned up. Their office rooms are pleasant and their location is very accessible for me. Staff is friendly, parking is no problem, and there's even a talking camera right above where I usually park my bike.
