Suddenly the job went to $2200, over $500 over our highest quote. We were told this was for "extra materials" for the mosaic tiles. We decided to go back to using just regular tile and somehow their price didn't change. Kelly said the $1200 price increase was due to they needed materials - Hardie Backer & Thin Set. Please see photos below. 15 square feet of Hardie Backer is $9.97 at Floor & Decor. Deluxe All-Set is $36.99 for a 50 lb bag. When we asked for a re-quote they "respectfully" bowed out of the job. I blurred out, "I am taking you home with me." A week later, Dawn and Mark showed up, and Mark looked at our Hybrid Poplar uprooting the driveway, and he explained: "I do not want to remove this tree until October. You have bird nests in the tree." We set a date for October, and his crew showed up early, and in about two hours dropped the monster of a tree. It took another couple of hours for them to clean up the mess. A month later, he came back and dropped another tree in the back yard. And yes, Dawn climbs trees, and that is why I think they should post a sign in the street "Women in Trees."
