What a great little restaurant. My wife got the nachos and she could not stop talking about them. The meat (carne asada) was so juicy, the refried beans to die for and everything was fresh. Drawn by high Yelp ratings but left very disappointed. Nothing wrong with the service although the girl was very quiet. Ambiance was fair - nothing outstanding and I've seen worse. Only one couple and myself were there for a dinner. A red flag ? But the food .... Not so good. Chips are store bought. The salsa wasn't bad and was actually the better part of the meal. Ordered a shredded beef Chimichanga "wet" which meant add sauce on top. Most places will serve this with a dollop of sour cream and perhaps a little guacamole. But not here. I asked to top mine with a green sauce on half and a red sauce on the other. What I got looked more like a burrito as it didn't look like it had been deep fried at all. Soggy and the red sauce appeared to be burnt. The green sauce wasn't bad but I did not finish eating it leaving about half left. Just did not taste that great to make me think I'd come back. I was very pleased with this place. I am passing through Idaho with my family and found this spot on yelp. We were served chips with salsa and delicious bean dip. The food was amaaazing! I got full but still wanted more. I ordered the chicken flautas which came with rice and beans. I dipped the flautas in the salsa and I thought it made them even better! Our server was nice if a little soft-spoken, but she was also very attentive to our needs. When we ran out of salsa and beans dip we found more at our table before we could even ask. Stoped here after my grandsons mtn bike race at Magic Mountain. The food was ok. The chips, salsa, bean dip and the other sauces were the best part of the meal. We picked up fast this was a mom & pop restaurant. After a while the owners family all came in and set up right next to us at a table for four. There were 8-9 of them. Their kids running all around and screaming! There was a baby rocker on the floor by the food prep area so I think the family comes in and sits there for hours every day. There was a baby gate set up closing up the men's restroom. So I used the womens! Just craziness while eating. I ordered the salad which stated grilled chicken and bell peppers, salsa, black beans, iceberg lettuce. What came was huge leafy greens. Shredded chicken, tomatoes chunks, and a thimble of ranch. Husband and I had lunch here during our visit to Idaho. While the food is decent, it's not California good but the prices are just like in California. Kind of pricey but nonetheless it was still adequate. You get chips, salsa, and beans while you decide what to order. Beans were good. For our entrees, I ordered a carne asada plate and the marinade was flavorful and helped the meat be very tender and juicy. Husband ordered some flautas. Husband and I both thought it really was nothing special. Very plain and not much flavor. He also ordered a the beef milanesa plate, I didn't try that but he enjoyed that dish more. We were famished after a HOT day at Shoshone Falls! This place has great ambiance with a festive and family friendly feel to it. Location: Easy to locate and plenty of parking Staff: Courteous & friendly. It was a holiday Monday and they were a bit short staffed for as crowded as it was, but not bad. Wait was likely longer than normal. Food: It was absolutely worth the wait! And it was a wait, but just shows how fresh it truly was, a no complaints. We were not in any rush to go. Carnitas wet burrito was the BEST! I'm not typically a fan of the wet burrito, but somehow the carnitas inside was still tasty and crispy!!! Mmmm, almost burnt my tongue! Lol.... Sopes looked small, initially - but as usual, my eyes bigger then my tummy....and I was super stuffed! Asada was good and the sopes were nice and crispy outside and soft and delish on the inside. Enchilada was cooked to utter perfection Taquitos were a little on the dry side, but good Tacos we're tasty! All in all - would definitely recommend and go back! We have our Uner driver to thank as it was between this place and another closer to our RV park and he said this was hands down the best place in town! Never thought I'd find a restaurant in this town I would miss. It is very unlikely I would return due to the fact I was just passing thru. I sure would love to return again. The standard chips and salsa are served here, but they provide bean dip as well. We ordered the camarones a la diabla and the camarones a la crema. Those were serious dishes. Apparently, it's been difficult to find authentic delicious food near by and Jarritos Mexican Restaurant really did it for everyone. We ordered tacos ranging from carnitas, chicken, asada and al pastor. All were delicious. I ate the al pastor panbazo and it reminded me of the ones my mom made back home. But the last time i went in there, the waitress was very rude from the beginning. Having a lowkey attitude about everything. Our beans came out cold and had no taste. The salsa tasted very tomato and had no taste or flavor. When it was time to order we had a different girl help us. I ordered quesabirria and my wife ordered a California burrito. The place wasnt busy so you can hear what everyone says. My wife and I over heard the girls talking about their intimate lives and just overall very tmi topics. Finally the food came out. It tasted good untill I bit on a piece of bone. It grossed me out so I did not eat any more of the dish. in my wife's burrito, the cheese wasn't even melted, and the meat was rubbery. We decided to bring this to the attention of our waitress and she said she was sorry and if we would like something else but we just wanted our check. It took 15 minutes just for us to get out check. I looked at the check and the prices were off from what the menu says. Menu prices were different from what was actually rung up, and when i went to check my bank account there was an extra 10$ that was apperently spent at the restaurant that I did not spend. So I asked how do I tell which burrito is which & she just shrugged her shoulders. Despite remaking one of the burritos twice it was still wrong. Often when I travel, it's very difficult for me to choose Mexican food as it's often not authentic or good to my standards. I attribute that to living close to a dense Mexican population where makeshift food stands are commonplace. Tacos and other goodies being served with nothing more than a flat iron griddle, a couple of picnic tables and a truck; followed by a long line of hungry patrons. So when the wife was looking around for food and happen to choose this place, I was very hesitant in wanting to place an order. I'm a big foodie & I can be very harsh when it comes to critiquing food. In hopes that the restaurant will make improvements to their food. So I won't spare Jarritos in my review, I shall praise it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture. Those tacos and flautas didn't have a chance. But rest assured, it was a fine example of what Mexican is food is like if you're looking for authentic taste and quality. The rice was flavored nicely, not overpowering and definitely not boxed rice. You'd be surprised how often I find "Mexican" joints serve rice a roni or rice pilaf. The frijoles weren't too thick and wasn't too runny, the perfect consistency and flavor. The tacos I had were asada, 3 of them, a standard amount if you're getting street tacos. They were also legit in the sense that they weren't massive tacos with huge chunks of asada and shredded cheese. Nope, it was just asada, onions and cilantro with a couple of limes. That with green salsa is all that you needed. The flautas were crispy and came with a bed of iceberg lettuce on top with some guacamole and cotija cheese, i honestly can't give a full honest review of that as I was finishing off my wife's meal. Overall, this was really good and I'm surprised that they weren't that busy at the time when we went to go pick up our order. It was a Monday night so maybe things are different here in Twin Falls. I chose to dine at Jarritos because they had a lot of 4stars and 5stars here on Yelp. But ... I don't know how they could have gotten so many of those. I called to place an order to-go without knowing menu or prices. I ordered chicken flautas (and presumed they would come with rice and beans) and headed there from my hotel to pick up the order. There were 2 tables occupied with guests, and another occupied with the owner's family. I wouldn't say it was dirty, but I would say it was messy. There were tables that had not been cleared off, and chairs not tucked back in. This made sense when I realized it was just the teenage family member working service and the grandmother in the back cooking. The girl was really sweet, and then the gentleman owner came over and chatted with me while I was there. He was really nice. I mentioned that I was excited to try their food because Yelp said they have good food - and he said "we do!" I'm sorry, I have to disagree .... The beans were .... less than fresh (had some crusty on them) and had a hot spice to them like chili pepper was added. And it made them spicy - (not too spicy) - just unpleasant. Like it wasn't necessary. And the rice. The rice was almost colorless (had a faint tinge of peach color to it), flavorless, and sticky. It had a few pieces of orange bell pepper (I think?) and was not good at all. The owner had mentioned that his mother was in the back cooking. The food IS authentic, but that doesn't necessarily make it good. The flautas had a good cook on them and a good amount of chicken in them. But the chicken was borderline dry and didn't have much flavor either. It really needed a lot of sour cream or something to dip it in because of the dryness and the lack of flavor. It was topped with a lot of old, browning lettuce shreds and a non-descript cream (not enough of it and no flavor) but there was some powdered cheese on top. I don't think it was queso fresco, but I did get some saltiness from it. Sitting there waiting - a bit too long - thinking the food was going to be good, I decided to ask for some guacamole and chips to-go too. The guacamole had a lot of big pieces of cilantro in it, and pieces of tomato. Too much extra stuff and not enough avocado. It was more like a salad instead of a dip. The salsa had a funny smell to it - it may have been the same chili powder or whatever added to it that was in the refried beans. It was unpleasant as well. The girl asked me if I wanted salsa, and I said sure (I thought it was free, but I don't think it was). I paid $18 for this meal ... without seeing a bill. So, I don't know what I paid for what, just that I paid $18 for a meal that I was not at all happy with. I'm on the fence on if I'll come back here and give it another shot. read more

Sitting here now and can't wait till after to leave a review. Some of the best Mexican food I have had. Amazing homemade chips with delicious salsa and beans. I ordered the wet burrito with carne asada and it is spectacular! You can tell the ingredients and freshness of the food is there. Food was sooo good! I got the shredded beef chimichanga and they made it absolutely delicious. The tortilla was perfectly crispy and the first real chimichanga I've been able to find in Idaho. Husband got fajitas which were really yummy. The rice isn't Mexican rice but it's REALLY TASTY. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the service was really really slow and that's not cool when you have a toddler and a baby if you know what I mean.
