Coming from Southern California, I was actually really surprised to find a good Mexican restaurant up here, but it was just like back home! 10/10 would recommend! :)

So as a local I absolutely love their food the flavor is alway on point. But…read more.... We came in and ordered the fajitas and I gotta tell you, don't, just don't. Theirs so many better options out there. Let me expound, they give 4 tortillas less than a spoon full of guacamole maybe a spoon full of sour cream and ZERO cheese. Our waitress was rude and completely messed up our drinks cause she wasn't even listening. I'm like ok no problem will just take them at 15.00 a drink. If you want WAY better service and food all the way around go to Janitizios. They have fajitas where the extra mile to drive is well worth it . We've been there so many times but because of the time they were closed. This is now a second time fail on el Caporal. Last time it was the lack of communication on their seafood. I've gotta say as a local I'm probably not gonna return to this establishment. Obviously the owners do not pay attention to where the mistakes need to be addressed. With so many options available in twin I'd say avoid this place and seek way better options. Sad to see a restaurant capable of doing better and actually offering the amount proportionate to the plate completely fail on every level. But also seeing other restaurants have the ability to fullfill that at a way better price refreshing. Janitizios for the win!!!

We were seated and the first thing we noticed were the booths. They were definitely dated (which we don't really care about but just to clarify) and they had tears from being sat in so much that it was unusually noticeable. The waitress was of average service. She brought us chips, salsa and refried beans that were slightly burnt so the taste was off just a tad. She let us have some time to peruse the menu and another thing we noticed almost immediately was the pricing. For being in Twin Falls, Idaho these prices were more akin to Seattle. Pretty pricey for a Mexican-American restaurant. This is your standard "authentic" Mexican food restaurant that you can find in almost all towns across the United States. Now to be fair when the food did arrive (which was in a timely manner) it was very large portions so that may have had something to do with the prices. My personal opinion was it was pretty standard tasting for what I ordered but it definitely "hit the spot". My fiancée was very impressed with her burrito (The Famoso). She said it tasted really good! She did order a side of sour cream that was $3 and she barely used it (my own complaint haha). All in all, this is your average Mexican-American restaurant. There is not really anything that separates this establishment from any others in the area. If you're looking for a nice, sit down spot for lunch and want what you're used to finding, when it comes to Mexican food, this is your place!
