Authentic Mexican basics. My husband loved the mole. Smoky and a tiny bit hotter than average. Not made with breast meat. Tacos made the street way. Yummy beans. Setting is casual. Market next door. He usually orders a burrito, but for me their arroz con pollo is the best--especially with their made fresh flour tortillas! It's nice that the owner steps out front to visit with the customers, too. My friend said he has been to a hundred Mex Rest's and this is his ALL TIME favorite. So I had to try the Camrones La Crema with Diablo sauce on the side plus home made corn tortillas. I could swim in the cream sauce, it is amazing. Staring with deep fried chips, they were thick and crunchy, almost kettle potato-chip-style, then dip them in a medium chunky salsa, top it off with the best beans I have ever eaten. This is my second time to this place. They have some large portions for the price. The food is good, not the greatest but it's good. They have buffet during lunch, which has a lot of different food items on it. The staff is quick and friendly. This trip I had the Taco Salad with ground beef. It was good. We did take-out while staying in a hotel while on the road. This place had good reviews, but the food was mediocre at best. This was my all time favorite Mexican restaurant, until my daughter and I went the other day. We got there about 2:10 got seated fairly fast, waited 10mins for someone to come and take our drink order and food order. In came in 6 other people.1/2 hour after us. We sat there and no food, the other 6 people ordered and got their food and were eating. I stopped the waitress and say we now need ours to go( sat there 40mins no food) We sat there another 10 mins before we laid 5.00 on the table for the drinks and chips and walked out. Best fresh shrimp fajitas! Loved the bean dip w/chorizo. Loved our food, ate like pigs. Kind elderly lady had to nudge young waitress to remember to check on us. Just passing through Jerome on my way back to college and after 10 hours behind the wheel I was desperate for something more than fast food. Luckily, we found here. Truly a remarkable restaurant in a largely unremarkable place. The salsa was lovely and hot, the tacos were exceptional and well priced and the shredded beef enchiladas were just what I needed to give me the will to live on! You can trust it's going to be good when they answer the phone in spanish. Really solid mole! Rich, thick- a little spicier than I'm used to, but very good. Rice was standard tex-mex fare, and would've been nice to have a breast of chicken in the mole vs 2 legs, but it's a minor complaint. I'd happily go here, again. read more

Mexican food is my favorite but l ordered carne asada medium rare. The meat was over cooked and very salty. The green onions still had roots attached and they were not fresh. We stopped by this restaurant on our way across the country. The atmosphere isn't super romantic but the food more than makes up for it. If I lived in Jerome I would literally be here several times per week. The food is SO good. The chips and salsa are amazing, you can tell the salsa is homemade. I got the enchiladas and they are a HUGE portion. I wished I wasn't full so I didn't have to stop eating them, that's how delicious they are. Amazing place, a must stop. read more
