We stopped into Galaxy Cabinets and after looking very closely at the details of the cabinets they offer, we were sold. The big differences were the thickness of the wood of the surrounding cabinet structure, and the shelves that are held in place with a snap in interlocking system, rather than just a pin shoved in a hole, and the solid maple doors and the full coating of the white shaker doors. Plus, their prices were about the same as the others we looked at without these features. We did all the demo ourselves and emailed our design with our measurements to Galaxy. They returned a line drawing and a quote. There were a few corrections needed, which took a few back & forth emails with Pam, but then the owner, Hill Wang, came up to confirm our measurements and make the final corrections to their plan. Hill is extremely polite and professional. He made a few fabulous suggestions to our design that are so appreciated now that I'm using my new kitchen. We made our deposit by Venmo and within 8 days, Hill's installer, Kevin arrived to install the cabinets. To my perfectionist husband's delight, Kevin was also a perfectionist who measured twice and checked level constantly. There were no nicks, scratches or damage done at all during his careful installation. All these beautiful cabinets were installed in 2 full days, which included him building a very unique, angled island, which he'd not done before, and then customizing a cabinet to fit it. It's perfect and has so much functionality. The process with Galaxy was totally painless. With construction, there's always an unexpected surprise or two. But Hill was so good to remedy it immediately. One of the lower cabinets I wanted was not in stock, so Hill upgraded it to a 3 pull out drawer, which I LOVE, and am so appreciative of and couldn't do without now. This little Galaxy Cabinet showroom in Corona delivered BIG in quality, timeliness, and satisfaction. We couldn't be more pleased and are so glad we gave them our business. Thanks, Hill. We wanted a simple design so there wasn't much to discuss. After we okay'ed the drawing/sketch we were told that install would happen 4-6 weeks later. After about 5 weeks Neftali and Robert reached out to schedule the install. The install took them one day and I am happy to say that I am pleased with the results. Their prices are on par with competitors - my honest opinion, if someone were to beat their prices by 1k-2k, I would honestly go with paying more and choosing Barcelo Designs. We…read moredid a ton of research, saw a plethora of social media images of outstanding looking carpentry and decided that we'd "invest" in a built in with this company. We thought the craftsmanship looked worth it. We did a full bathroom renovation, hired craftspeople to prep the location to Neftali's requirements - the built in was supposed to be the crowning jewel. We provided a photo of what we wanted and had a consultation with Neftali about what we were looking for. We Immediately provided the deposit. We were told we'd get a drawing. Never happened. We waited more than 2 months for install. On delivery, the built in looked far from the image we provided. Dimensions were totally off, hardware was completely out of scale. We asked for glass doors, got solid doors. I could go on and won't. Attention to detail was not there and Neftali acted like there was some miscommunication about how what we wanted was expressed. We provided a photo from the start. Was it built by someone else? What the heck happened? Ultimately, we settled for what they provided us after they corrected what they could without starting all over. But, we felt like WE inconvenienced them in this process. We were so looking forward to having them build us a banquette, install wainscoting and fully renovating our kitchen with new cabinetry. It's all about the detail and for us, they missed the mark. Worse yet, they made us feel like we were demanding. Don't get me wrong, the cabinet is solid and built well. It's as if we thought we were buying an Acura and got a Lexus instead. Nothing "wrong" with it, per se. Just not what we ordered and paid for - and really no acknowledgment of that fact by BD. Long story short - insist on drawings.
