Jardin has such a stunning outdoor space, and the interior is so cozy. With the laws in Richmond, all the bars have food menu, and theirs looked so legit. We did only stop here for two glasses of wine before we went to dinner next door at Celladoras. At first entry - you walk through the basement, the signage isn't super clear on where to go. This is a great natural wine bar, and there's a few of them in the fan district in Richmond. I loved the cellar vibes of Jardin, and was impressed with their selection. The staff was pretty friendly, they let me try a wine before I committed, but overall got a little sense it was a tiny bit pretentious, and some hipster places sadly can be. I'm not hipster so I can feel really intimated sometimes. It was super busy on their patio but we still got seats and we enjoyed the wine (I love a patio where you can have a real glass) most had bottles, and honestly, I'm sure the weather impacts the patio experience. Ours was perfect.

We tried to go here Saturday afternoon but the porch was packed to the absolute brim, so we left and came back Sunday and had a great experience. The staff is really helpful and though they don't offer flights, they are kind enough to let you taste wines if you're not exactly sure what you want. The patio is so nice to sit on and chit chat and people watch. We had a dinner reservation after, so we only got a little snack plate. I can't remember the proper name of either item, but they were delicious -- some type of whipped cheese and strawberries, and olives in oil. Never knew olive oil could taste so good!

Jardin is a nice place for a casual wine outing. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a ideal place to unwind with friends or enjoy a quiet evening. They offer an impressive selection of wines, and I loved the variety available. I do wish there were a few more sweet wine options on the menu, but I really appreciated that they were able to make a custom spritzer for me--it was a nice touch! The small bites were a great complement to the wine and added to the overall experience. If you're looking for a place to relax or catch up with friends, Jardin is definitely worth checking

Cute spot! Lots of wine the beaten path wine options. Not 5 stars simply because tables were wobbly and unclean.

Such a cute wine bar!! Personally, I thought the price a tad steep for a single glass of wine. However, I did thoroughly enjoy myself. The orange wine I got was delicious and their patio is adorable. It's a lovely spot for a little date or a group of friends to gather. They do offer food as well and there is indoor seating!

Jardin is the ultimate Sunday afternoon hot spot. The vibes are great outside, the wine is good, and the meat and cheese board is perfect to share while sipping on your drinks. The staff is very knowledgeable about all the food and drink options, and they will help you through ordering if you're unfamiliar with any of it. I love to come to this place solo or with a group - my book club meets here often and the space always works super well for us. Truly a great experience every time.

I came here with two friends during a weekend trip to Richmond and loved this place! We came here for a drink before dinner and sat outside at the bar under the tree and it was such a vibe. Jardin has a great outdoor space and I would definitely come here again to take advantage of that. Inside is a small wine bar with bottles you can buy to go or for here, as well as wines by the glass and some small plates. I didn't get a chance to eat here and would love to return to do so. The server at the bar was helpful with giving suggestions and I had a really nice white wine and sparking rose.

I have wanted to try this place for a long time, but held off because I thought it would be expensive. It was actually really affordable, especially if you split a bottle. The staff was so friendly and instantly had recommendations when they noticed we were a bit lost on what to try. The outdoor area is so cute and also covered, so we sat and shared a bottle in the rain. I would highly recommend the crispy potato's as a snack-- the garlic sauce that came with them was absolutely out of this world.

I love this cute spot on Main!! Such a great location. Large wine selection and a changing menu for apps. You order at a counter inside and get a number. They bring out the food and you get the wine at the counter if I remember correctly. The ricotta was super creamy and the strawberries with honey balanced out the salty. They served fresh bread that came out warm. They brought out mustard and more bread to go with the meats. This was a perfect amount to snack on with my two friends. We got a bottle of white and shared it on the patio. You may have a wait on the weekends in the afternoon/early evening if it's nice out!

Jardin is absolutely the spot for good wine and good vibes if the weather is nice! Their patio is intimate and adorable yet roomy enough to avoid feeling crowded. Everyone that works there is super friendly & gives approachable wine recommendations. & 2/2 times I've been recently, the charcuterie plate was wonderful.

Jardin is Richmond's dreamy European backyard. If you're looking to escape to something picturesque, this is the place for you. Their underground wine cellar is absolutely stunning. You first need to enter through their gorgeous patio. You'll go down a few stairs and come upon this charming bar with wine bottles all along the walls. Jardin has one of the best wine bar organization systems in Richmond. You'll get to explore a variety types of wine. The people who work here are extremely kind and knowledgeable. They can help you find whatever fits your palate. This is my ultimate spot for a girls night. There is nothing better than grabbing a bottle of wine ($10 corkage fee here) and sharing it with the girls. Cute outfits are optional (but highly encouraged by me). It's an amazing spot for a cool summer evening or spring/fall day. It can get busier on weekends/really nice weather days, but you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a seat. You order everything you want inside (including food). You'll get your drink at the register, but take a plant (their versions of numbers) for them to bring out when your food is ready. They offer small plates here. I've tried the new potato bravas (potatoes cooked to perfection, just a bit too oniony for me personally) and the Marcona almonds (a bit too oily for me). They have gender neutral restrooms here. I cannot recommend Jardin enough. It's a fantastic spot to bring friends to or go on a date. They have quality wine, a wonderful atmosphere, and fantastic people.

The feeling of drinking wine at friend's home, I loved it! Overall the ambiance is inviting and warm with the patio area being prime location! The bar area and small seating area is also comfortable. I wish that they offered some tasting of the wines by the glass. Maybe it was an option but it was not offered to us. The food was excellent we got the chefs charcuterie board and it was a good amount of high end meats and cheeses as well as the whipped ricotta dish that was also very good! I will for sure be back to try more food as well!

Cheese Plate

A great spot to catch up with some friends, especially if the patio is open. I'm not a wine drinker so wine places are always a bit overwhelming for me. The employee was super helpful and provided suggestions based on my preferences (light, fruity). We got a cheese plate. We weren't familiar with the cheeses listed so we asked the employee to select mild cheeses and they did a great job. We ran out of crackers and were able to get more with no questions asked. I really appreciated the welcoming and accommodating service!

It was mid day so we were seated upstairs with no wait. Staff is super responsive and friendly. Outdoor seating was great with its view of the street below. Complimentary nuts and olives were given. Sangria was my drink of choice and it was delicious. I the drink was largely fresh made with their house wine and was so easy to drink. After a couple of glasses, I wanted to try their popular meat and cheese tray. I asked about a combo of both Spanish cheeses and meats. The sausages were excellent and the soft and hard cheese just added a nice touch to the snack.

We ordered sangria and the table red wine and both were delicious. The sangria rioja is a touch on the sweeter side, which I personally don't mind, but just be aware if that is not your thing! It did taste better once it was a little bit diluted. The rice dish (arroz meloso) was one of their brunch specials and it was FANTASTIC! It has shrimp, chorizo, and chicken, and the rice was cooked and flavored to perfection. It was like a mini paella and the portion was huge. Definitely big enough to share for two people! I even told the waitress they need to add this to their menu permanently and not just as a special. We also ordered the patatas bravas (the crispy potatoes with spicy sauce), and it quite literally transported me back to my time when I lived in Spain. It came with a side of garlic aioli which was divine...creamy, garlicky (but not TOO garlicky), and seasoned well. the red sauce on the potatoes was delicious and spicy, so beware if you are not fan of spicy food. We had a little mishap with another tapa (the pan iberico, which they have listed as a flatbread) which I unfortunately did not take a picture of and did not care for at all. They gave us the vegetarian version by mistake, but our waitress was awesome and she recognized the mistake right as it came to our table. We got the right one and it wasn't bad, but definitely wouldn't order again. That would be the only thing I would avoid from the menu, as it's not traditionally Spanish. It was like a mini pizza with chorizo and had manchego melted on top. I'm sure a lot of people would like it, but it just didn't make much sense to me! Atmosphere is warm and inviting, and I can't wait to go back for a wine tasting and more tapas. Try them out :)

The duck, with the chard mixture, was amazing work. The burger is probably the largest dish on the menu, it's pretty substantial and was very tasty. I'll also shout out the pickles on the meat and cheese board, they had a significant spicy kick but were delicious and I wanted more in the end. The service was great, our man was very involved and had a lot of knowledge about the menu. It honestly was pretty quiet for a Friday night; the Tobacco Company is right down the block but you would never know it in here. The decor in here is also very interesting, there are tables with couch seating on one side. Everything's very sleek. Delightfully clean bathrooms. We enjoyed it, though I'm not sure when we'll be back for a meal as the menu is ultimately pretty small.

He had a huge vault of songs... everything I asked for, he had. Some of which are not as popular as others. AND the best part, he could change the pitch to accommodate my vocal range. Some of my favorite songs are a bit too high, and I had to ask for two of them to be brought down 1/2 step. Songs ranged from 50s to current. Enjoyable singers all around and everyone was fun to watch. I got a glass of their tempranillo, which was perfection. Full bodied, super dry and delicious. I also got a pizza, which is kind of a personal size. Very thin. Good, but not great. Decor is nice. Newly renovated with mostly tables all on the same level, but also a couch area next to the TV, and about three bar seats. Plenty of room to spread out. The only thing keeping Gramophone from 5 stars is the lack of food options. Hope they're able to add some simple staples like burgers and fries or salads. Convenient location right on the corner of Forest Hill and Westover Hills Blvd. I'll definitely come back for karaoke and wine!

Like too many restaurants in the Scott's Addition area, this is seafood cooked without finesse and then absolutely brutalized with absurd amounts of palate fatiguing, brash, loud flavors. Every item on the menu endeavors to conceal mediocrity in the quality and handling of the ingredients with explosive, overwhelming additives meant to shock you into submission. Things like black garlic and chili oil, raw garlic, sesame seed oil, and punishing heat are inescapable on the menu, which really says to me loud and clear "we do not understand the appeal of seafood, and might have a fundamental misunderstanding about good food in general." I don't exaggerate when I say these dishes would be improved (setting aside things like inability to properly cook octopus) by scaling back the flavors to 5-10% the loudness level they are currently at, to let the ingredients speak, and to make the dining experience less of a punishing marathon with no relief. I have had much subtler and more skillfully balanced dishes at Indian and Thai restaurants, cuisines known for strong flavor profiles. I'm through listening to these Richmond restaurants trying to excuse simply bad food by claiming "that's the nature of the cuisine." In this case, Lillian claims that dishes characterized by these cacophonous competing flavors is "South American." No it isn't - the person conceptualizing the dishes is just a bad chef who doesn't know what he's doing, and at the prices Lillian charges, that's inexcusable. Drowning every dish in flavors that overwhelm the palate is not a way to respect your ingredients or your diner, and only communicates youth and insecurity. Anyone who's eaten widely and knows their ingredients will rightly feel assaulted and insulted by this overpriced, unskilled fare. To anyone who decides to go anyway: Good luck with the digestive distress, and with the taste that will still be left over in your mouth the next morning, no matter how much you brush your teeth.
