We came across Jarams Donuts on Instagram, as their donuts looked really good, and we fancied something sweet. We ordered two different types of kolache, and they were great. I would definitely order those again. The donut holes were fresh and crispy. We picked a few donuts to try and really liked the flakiness of the croissant donuts but were a bit disappointed with the fillings and toppings. Unfortunately, they use that very bright, glossy red, commercial-style "strawberry jam" rather than the type of strawberry jam made with noticeable real fruit. For me, it was far too sugary and had more of an artificial strawberry taste. The pastry itself was actually really good, so I think I would have enjoyed it more without the strawberry filling. I was also really looking forward to trying the Nutella & Strawberry Funnel. By this point, I already knew what to expect from the strawberry filling, but I wasn't expecting to be disappointed with the Nutella as well. Having lived in Europe for about a decade and eaten Nutella for years, what was in the funnel did not taste like original Nutella to me. It tasted more like a generic chocolate spread, and I couldn't really taste the hazelnut flavor that Nutella is known for. If it isn't actually original Nutella, I don't think it should be labeled as Nutella because that is what customers will expect when ordering it. At $5.99, I also thought the funnel was a little expensive, especially compared with the $4.69 cronut. The apple fritter, however, was great. The overall flavor and texture of the pastry made it our favorite donut we tried. Overall, it was a shame because our expectations weren't quite met. I wasn't expecting the most amazing pastries in Dallas, but based on how good everything looked online, I was expecting better-quality fillings and toppings. The actual pastries themselves had some really nice textures, and we really enjoyed the kolaches, donut holes, and apple fritter. I just think better-quality fillings and toppings would make a huge difference. read more

I really wanted a cronut and stopped by this place on a Sunday afternoon. They have quite a few cronut options, but I got a plain glazed one. We also grabbed a cream-filled donut, and the cashier added a few glazed donut holes. The glazed donut holes were the best, freshest, most consistent donuts. The cronut was quite oily and heavy and didn't taste that fresh. The Creme of the Boston Cream was on par with a Dunkin' Boston Cream. If you want variety, this is a great little shop - but if you want an amazing donut - go elsewhere. read more

Jarams donuts is famous because they make special donuts for weddings. (I should custom order at some point too!) Not all the donuts I ate are shown but what I had were Banana cronut Strawberry cronut Cookie butter cronut Creme brulee cronut Autumn fall donut Hot dog pastry The banana cronut and strawberry cronut were absolutely amazing I will get these again. The fruit flavors are enhanced and with the crunch of a cronut makes for a well rounded sweet. The cookie butter cronut was nice but just like biscoff, it leaves a little dryness on the tongue. The autumn donut was also a little dry, it's best served with tea or a drink like a coffee cake. If you get this, make sure you get a drink! The creme brulee donut should be warmed up just like the hot dog pastry - be sure to ask when you order and don't repeat my mistake! I was having a hard time finding a donut shop that could make letters for my daughter's birthday and my friend recommended Jarams. I was so excited when I was able to place the order online and schedule pickup for first thing in the morning. I got there on a Monday morning only to find out that I had placed the order for the following day. It was 8am and my daughter's birthday party was at 11am so I couldn't wait until the next day for the donuts. These people were amazing - they called the bakers back to the store and the donuts were ready for us to pick up in time for the party. I will be forever grateful to them for saving the day. P.S. The cronuts are not what I expected based on what I've had living on the east coast . Jarams are way too bready thick dense and dry. With the state fair being cancelled this year, they came out with funnel cake donuts. It taste nothing like funnel cake. The banana funnel was so bad because fresh bananas are not good to leave in desserts. They turn brown/black. Please stop making those. The cinnamon sugar was also not funnel cake texture, it tasted like a regular cake donut. Also their cream cheese donut with fruits are not good.
