The waitress wiped down tables, mopped the floor, did some dishes and then when we finally waved and got her attention she took our order. 45 minutes later breakfast arrived: COLD eggs and cold toast. Please do not eat here. It was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. They charged me $8 for a grilled cheese sandwich! And it's an extra $2 if you want one slice of ham . And if you want fries instead chips it's another $1. Don't be fooled. It looks charming from the outside but when you walk in and see a gift shop, slot machines, and a dirty dining area. We saw all the good reviews, so we decided to give this place a shot. One of my daughters ordered the bacon burger. It was okay. Just okay. My other daughter ordered the chef salad. It looked like they used a bag of mixed salad from Walmart and tossed some cheese and ham on top, and then slapped a $11 price tag on it. The dressing was warm, like it had been sitting out all day. As far as service goes, our waitress seemed like she was doing all the work in the cafe, which made us feel rushed, and she wasn't very friendly. Don't stop unless you're starving. We just left there - very full - with irresistable, take-out homemade pie in hand. The food is just as it proclaims - Homemade Grub. Apparently they are known for their burgers. DH had the Lima burger and said it was good - along with a huge pile of fries. I had the Chicken fried steak which was a little tough, but tasty. The mashed potatoes were home smashed and yummy. They are open from 7am - 10pm and serve a nice selection so there's probably something for most people. They were making some milk shakes while we were there and use handscooped ice cream and real milk. I think I would make a stop just for that! It can be a rare treat these days. I don't understand how this place has three and a half stars. I give it a 1 and here's why. I left from Salt Lake City to go to Butte ,MT. I stop for gas and saw the cafe I go in and waited for the hostess and she said "hang on there are no seats available at this time" but there were. There were 3-5 tables cleaned and ready and seats at the bar were ready. The hostess was just vacuuming and wiping the tables that were already clean over and over again. After 15 minutes of seeing her do this I left cause it was obvious I wasn't welcome there. I went to the cafe the next town over which was 1000 times better with their service and the food was great! Here is some advice don't eat here unless you are dying from hunger and thirst don't eat there. If you're dying from hunger and thirst go to the gas station. read more

During winter season it's a small amount of people that come to this place cause of the cold weather but whatever the season the food is still country style goodness and the amount served is well worth the price. This was one of the weirdest eating experience we've ever had. From the minute we walked in we were stared at like outsiders. When we asked if we could order breakfast we were told no they stopped serving 5 minutes ago yet they were still serving to others for 20 more minutes. After sitting for 30 minutes after ordering I walked up to ask if it would be much longer, although our waitress made eye contact with me No One would come over to me. I could see the kitchen and they weren't even cooking our meal.We threw $4 on table and left. This was a scene out of Deliverance! Very impressive little diner or dive in this small town of Lima, Montana. The food isn't the best you or I've ever had or will ever have, but the food tasted good, was well prepared, and served hot and in a timely manner. This place was amazing! We stopped in for lunch as we were traveling to Canada. We were pretty skeptical from the looks of the place, but don't let that fool you. The food was great!! The soup of the day was cranberry beef. I tried it just to see, and was floored! Honestly one of the best soups I've ever had! The dinner roll was homemade & delicious. To finish it off I had the caramel apple pie, and that was extraordinary as well! The only thing I wish is that I could have gotten Jan's recipe for the soup! On the road all day and I was hungry. I read the reviews and was expecting some home cooking. Well, unfortunately it was freezer to microwave. Turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy. How can you go wrong even if it is heated up frozen food? Well, it was not good. Having said that my traveling companion had fried steak bigger than a plate and it was tastier. Stopped here for lunch, never got the lunch but was treated to watching the waitress who told us to wait while she got a table ready for us vacuum the floor, wipe off clean tables, and vacuum the floor again. The place had four empty tables when we walked in and two empty seats at the counter, any of these would have worked. Instead we were treated to standing around while other customers turned and stared at us as though we came from outer space. . I was dressed in jeans, a t-shirt and a jacket, my grandson in jeans and a t-shirt. We looked like everyone else in the place, except we are not locals. We put up with this nonsense about 20 minutes which was a good 15 minutes more than we should have done. The nearby gas station has drinks and snacks available for purchase and less than 20 minutes away there are accommodating restaurants in Dillon. Don't waste your time here. read more

Fantastic hamburger! Local beef grilled to perfection. Fries were fresh, crispy, and fried in clean oil. Apple pie with ice cream finished off the meal wonderfully! Great homemade flavor. Worth the stop! Service was excellent! They get an AAA+ from me! read more
