My violin instructor Michelle I have to say is awesome! I like her attention to detail, from the way you hold your bow, finger positions, proper way to rosin and anything in between - she just keeps her lesson light, not over bearing and gives compliments and corrections when it is needed or due. I highly recommend Fun Music School, learning to play from a group in school is also fun, but having a one on one time with an instructor just reinforces good playing habit and music fundamentals. Highly recommended.

I was hesitant at first being older and thought most music instructors cater to children but was so happy to find it wasn't the case with Foothills! Meli was my instructor and she made me feel so comfortable and confident during my classes! She is such an awesome instructor and so knowledgeable! I learned how to play Imagine by John Lennon which is my favorite song as well as learn scales, reading notes and all the essentials. I learned all this in a year and along with practice, have gotten pretty good! All thanks to Meli and Foothills Music! I wouldn't have gotten very far without them, they gave me the confidence to start and keep learning. Unfortunately due to financial obligations I was no longer able to continue the classes but have gained the tools to keep going and continue to practice every day. I love piano and feel that by taking these classes, I got over frustration of being a beginner to someone who can confidently sit down and play a song for friends! I highly recommend signing up if you are interested in learning an instrument!

The lessons are taught at her home but she has two beautifully appointed studios separated from the residence providing a distraction free one on one instruction. She has also partnered with a guitar instructor offering lessons. The area just outside of the studio is a beautiful deck with pretty good views of highland park with comfy chairs (and within earshot of the lessons) which makes it fun to hear the progress of my kiddos. At the end of each "semester" she holds a recital with the students which I find pretty darn cute but also very entertaining. You will not find a more enthusiastic and positive instructor that truly cares for her students and their progress in music.

I am a non-professional but avid singer. At the time of this writing, I have been attending Piano…read moreBar 101 for more than a year. I'm going to keep doing it because the class not only helps my singing become better, it is simply a very nice group of people with whom to share 90 minutes or so once a week. There are some classmates who are professional-level who are there to polish their craft, and there are others like me who love music and singing, but who aren't going to be giving performances anywhere - except maybe at home in the shower (great acoustics!) and/or at a Karaoke place. The teacher, Ann, is a highly accomplished singer, piano player, and accompanist (being a great piano player does not necessarily mean you can be a great accompanist - she is). She continues to amaze me because I want to sing a very wide variety of songs, several of which we do not have the music for, and/or she has not played before. No matter, she pulls up as little as a chord chart and off we go. Her husband, Geno, is also there to accompany with some background percussion. He is also a very good singer. All of the above is enough reason to attend and polish your own performances, but there are three serious bonuses : Both Ann and Geno just happen to also be very nice people to be around, and the fellow classmates are totally polite and supporting of whatever level of performance you do. The third bonus is that discussions of politics and religion are not part of the experience. The facility is a simple storefront place, 15 or so of us sit around a medium sized room with a piano on folding chairs and stools, it has a restroom, and has a nice sound setup with a microphone. We visit a bit as people show up, then to business. Ann directs us through some basic warmup exercises, do some ear training work, sing some group participation songs from the lyrics book they provide, and then each of us does a solo song at the microphone. The solo is optional, but you should take advantage of it in this safe and successful improvement atmosphere. Just try one of the many in their songbook, or if you already have one you want to start working on, bring sheet music to one you want to try. Or just ask Ann if she can already play what you hope for - she knows many ! I would recommend that you come join us sometime to see if we're the kind of people you want to share some time and your love of singing music with.

Greg made everything incredibly easy--prompt scheduling, and has a depth of expertise that put me at ease. He does not rush you while in his store and even tells you shop around to make sure you select the right piano! Also Greg and Steve didn't just tune my piano multiple times before I took delivery; they treated it with the care and hired top notch piano movers who were really respectful towards not damaging anything on my property and most of all my brand new "Kawai 60th Anniversay GX-2". Their installation of the Genio non-invasive silent system was flawless--done with minimal screws and absolute respect for the instrument's integrity. You can tell they deeply understand the mechanics and soul of a piano! What really sets Piano Masters apart, though, is their red carpet customer service. They're very professional, and genuinely focused on delivering the best outcome for me as a customer. Their pricing is very competitive, especially considering the level of service you receive--something you would experience at a Lexus or premium car dealership. I definitely recommend Piano Masters! I wouldn't trust my piano with anyone else!
