I could not be happier with the restoration work Franco did on our 1904 Steinway Model O. He took our pretty beat up but beloved family heirloom piano that had a beautiful art case but otherwise was filthy and in need of a new soundboard and action. He restored it to a gorgeous sounding instrument, and thanks to his partners who were expert in doing the work, a beautiful piece of furniture. I've been playing it regularly for a year and it has held up very well. It has never sounded or looked better. The service did take some months, but this was not unexpected. He was great at keeping us informed about the progress. Plus, it was a pleasure to visit his shop, talk about the work, and see the innards of piano restoration work. I was nervous about trusting someone to renovate our 1909 Steinway, especially since it had never really had the care that it had needed. Our 1925 Steinway was suffering the wear and tear of age, and it also received damage during storage after a house flood. Franco had done work for a friend, who recommended him highly. I can only echo my friend's comments along with those of the previous reviewers. From first assessment to final delivery, I could not have been more pleased. Franco is honest, pleasant, and a master at what he does; he returned our piano in glorious condition. And while this process is neither quick nor cheap, he did offer us options that could have reduced the price significantly. I have been terribly derelict in not posting this review until now, but better late than never! I just want to thank Franco for the wonderful work he did. My wife and I had our 1917 Steinway Grand Piano restored by Precision Piano Services. I sent it to them right after buying it, and Franco went through everything on the piano, showing us what was both good and what it needed to be fixed in order to bring the instrument up to its full potential. He gave us a very informative and honest appraisal. After we agreed on what should be done, he encouraged us to visit at anytime to see the work that was being accomplished. When we got the piano back, the difference was amazing. When we think of "Old world craftsmanship" this company comes to mind. The care and skill that Franco and his father as well as the other members of their team put into their work definitely shows in every detail that they do. Their work was meticulous, and we now understand why they call themselves "Precision Piano Services" These people know their craft. My wife and I also wanted to have a Piano Disc installed after the restoration, so that we could thoroughly enjoy it, even when we were not playing it. Best decision we ever made. It is so great to have something so high tech married to an instrument that is almost 100 years old. We use it almost every day. It is like having our own virtuoso playing at our dinner parties.
