This review is quite overdue, but in some ways it gives perspective on the quality of the used Kawai purchased from Garron almost 4 years ago and I have to say it the quality was excellent from the beginning even up till now. I was very impressed with Garron's passion and knowledge of music and the piano and the whole music industry itself and I did not feel like I was working with a used car sales person which I felt like at some other sellers. I highly recommend going to Garron for any of your Piano needs and I hope him and his business is around when I eventually plan to upgrade to a baby grand. He also has an amazing Piano Technician that went out to do the first tuning that I still call on to this day. read more

We are extremely happy with our piano purchase with Garron! He and his wife Cindy are both soooo knowledgeable and patient with our questions. I learned so much from eat time phone call I made to the Piano Warehouse. Not even once they pressured us into buying a piano, instead they taught me many things about piano so I can become a more knowledgeable buyer. Thank you Garron and Cindy! read more

After years of waiting Corona made an ideal time to look at purchasing a piano. Garron made the process of looking at the wide assortment of preowned pianos a breeze. Mildly chatty fellow but full with insight and knowledge about the Piano landscape in LA. There were a number of U3's available at his warehouse spot, and after a short period of play testing I was sold. He facilitated a quick delivery that same week and a free piano tuning to boot. Now our neighbors are both over joyed and depressed depending on who's playing. 10/10 would buy another piano here but hopefully won't need to for many years! read more

Garron Larcombe sells quality used Yamaha pianos (also new Kawai, Pearl River pianos) at competitive reasonable price vs big dealers' showroom. Operating out of a warehouse, it is easy to underestimate this low cost business model to deliver high quality pianos. Shopping for a Yamaha U3, one of best upright performance piano, i shortlisted 2-3 of five U3s in stock, and had a well-respected top master technician Isaac Sadigursky inspect for quality. Finally i purchased the best well-playing bright U3 that i personally liked most. I would recommend Garron's pianos which have met high technical quality standards, and well deserving of the many testimonials on his piano wall of fame. read more

Garron is incredibly knowledgable, kind, and a delight to work with! Helped me navigate the buying process and was very informative.

Learnt piano since 5 and had one in my parent's home. Then I came to US and I got my 2nd piano when I was in my graduate school. Limited budget, limited choice. My son has used the old one for 5 years. And I was thinking about upgrade the current one to a baby grand. But the price on the market is so variable and I hate dealing with those sales who only thinks about their commissions. So my plan always delays... till last Saturday. I spent 8 hrs by the swimming pool for my son's swim meets. So I had enough boring time to do research. I found Piano Warehouse. I read the story about Pooder and was touched. I called Garron in the late afternoon left a voice message. Then Sunday morning we talked and I made an appointment immediately. 1 hr later, Cindy drove 1 hr to the warehouse to meet my son and me. Appreciate for that, Cindy! I used to think I would think about it for days. But I made the decision within 30 seconds. Today I got my new piano delivered. The 3rd piano in my life, and the 1st baby grand for my son, and myself! We all love it. Thank you Garron! For helping us to get a brand new baby grand and affordable price ! read more

We bought our first Yamaha U1 from Garron on the last day of 2022. It was a smooth and comfortable process. Garron is certainly knowledgable in the piano business, and he is kind enough to provide all the necessary information for us. My son and I recently purchased a new Kawai upright from The Piano Warehouse. The experience was smooth, professional and straightforward. Garron and his wife were both kind, knowledgeable and informative (but not salesy!) -- all of which helped provide me confidence in a large purchase. The appointment was private and they allowed ample time and space to try out several pianos, including some excellent used ones. We did not feel pressured. We received the piano within only a few days after the purchase date. It arrived tuned and in beautiful condition. The delivery was smooth and professional as well. When you want to buy a piano, where do you go? Luckily our dear friend and piano teacher recommended Garron--The Piano Warehouse. We made an appointment to go there and were met with the most wonderful person--Garron. He was so knowledgeable about every detail of every piano. Since we already have a Steinway grand piano, and we were looking for an upright studio piano, we were able to try out all of his uprights. He didn't rush us, gave us all the time we needed, and gave us a great price for the one we decided on. I would highly recommend The Piano Warehouse and would only buy any future pianos from him. I recently purchased a Yamaha upright from Garron and he was by far the most knowledgeable and wonderful help. Additionally, during this time of quarantine, he made videos of himself playing/testing the pianos I was interested in and sent then to me to check out. On visits to pretty much every piano store in town I kept marveling at the superior tone and touch of the Yamaha U series. And then kept reminding myself that I couldn't afford that model and then kept torturing myself by sitting down with it anyway. Finally it hit me: buy a USED U. As one guy said, "Pianos age better than people." Piano Warehouse has the best selection of used Yamaha pianos in Greater L.A. Garron explained that a lot of them are shipped over from Japan where apparently there isn't a market for used anything. He knows the importer and gets first dibs on whatever comes in. Out of six or seven used U models, I chose a 1988 Yamaha UX - a cut above the standard U and with an even richer, mellower tone. Looks and sounds brand new and cost about 75 percent less than a new one. You get a free bench, free delivery (though I did have to pay for a flight of stairs) and a free tuning (within 3 months) by a super nice guy. Thanks Garron! NOTE: This store is by APPOINTMENT ONLY. So don't be like me and drive all the way there and wonder why it's closed. read more

This was my first experience purchasing my own piano, and Garron was such a pleasure to work with. He let me sit down and play all kinds of pianos for hours, occasionally coming over to offer in depth insight and knowledge on the instruments that he's worked with for decades now. It felt like an organic experience and never did I feel any pressure either way towards any particular instruments, he simply let them speak for themselves. The piano was delivered to my house 5 days after purchase by a wonderful moving company and that rounded off a seamless and very wholesome purchasing experience. I waited my entire life to buy a piano and during covid I realized that I should finally just take the plunge and get one. After speaking to a few stores I thought I was going to buy a Yamaha u1 from a particular store. After speaking with Garron he gave me a whole new perspective on pianos. Not only was he knowledgable, you could tell he cares about the story that each piano carries with it. I was impressed and touched by Garron and his wife's commitment to high quality piano's. Garron is amazing and one of the most gentle and kind people I've ever met. I always worry about big purchases because I don't want to feel like I'm being sold a car. There were never any gimmicks and he was straightforward about pricing. (And I think you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who offers a lower price). Whether you're a veteran or looking for your first piano, Garron is the perfect person to consult with any questions you may have. He's extremely knowledgeable about different styles of pianos and their makers; I promise you'll be in the best of hands. Also, if you visit the home page of his website, you'll see a heartwarming note left for his cat, Pooder. It may or may not have made me cry. read more

Garron was a real pleasure to work with. The man is a fountain of knowledge, and quite a low key/humble guy. I was looking for a Yamaha U-3, and he had several really nice ones to choose from. This is the second piano I've purchased from Garron. Once again, I shopped around before calling him. The quality of his pianos, coupled with his technical knowledge and prices (excellent!), make this the BEST place to purchase a used piano in Los Angeles! There is a reason many celebrity musicians purchase pianos from The Piano Warehouse! That being said, I am definitely not a professional musician. Garron is patient, not pushy at all and answers all questions. It's easy to feel comfortable with him - he will even play the pianos for you (if like me, you freeze up when playing in front of others). Highly recommend! read more

An excellent and highly positive experience! This being my first review on yelp, I'm pleased to leave a great review for "The Piano Warehouse" and its owner Garron where I had purchased a Yamaha piano in Oct. 2012. At a good size warehouse filled with grands and uprights of various brands, Garron was very patient and took the time to educate me on the difference between each piano and then allowed me time to demo as long as I needed with no pressure at all. He really listened to what my needs were and helped me to narrow down a few pianos for me to decide on based on my budget and piano skills. I studied piano for over 20 years so I was very familiar with the feel of a piano and ultimately decided on a piano that was fit for my level of playing with a fast piano action that allowed me to grow while maintaining a warm tone. I felt Garron was certainly an adept piano technician answering my many technical questions and he took the time to examine every inch of the piano with me from front to back and opened every board possible to take an even closer look inside. After researching what Craigslist and other piano store fronts had to offer in LA, I felt most comfortable dealing directly with an owner with a reputable background as a piano technician as oppose to a salesman from a large piano factory or a private party who's selling their piano that's been sitting in the sun or hadn't been played or tuned in years. The price of the piano felt very reasonable and after doing my own research on the current market value I felt Garron's prices were very competitive and with more savings than I had anticipated. The piano arrived in perfect condition from the piano movers Garron always uses and they really accommodated my schedule on when to delivery the piano. The movers were very courteous and were respectful of my home when they came in. They were in and out in less than 15min. They made sure I was happy with the position of the piano before they left. Overall my experience was very positive with the Piano Warehouse and I hold high regards for Garron. I'm very happy with my piano and highly recommend the Piano Warehouse. read more
