I don't know where to start. From the moment you walk into this sanctuary, you know Luminous is simply something very special. Its bright, passionate and caring owner Erika, lash-expert-extraordinaire Dominique, and the calm & inviting space... all this contributes to an experience that just can't be matched. If you're in need of some pampering by women who are beautiful inside and out - who want you to feel the same - I couldn't recommend a better place. I was really in need of a little TLC today and Luminous came through for me. You have a customer for life.

Her studio space is clean, beautiful, and she is truly a professional. Her methods are quick, efficient, and she is attentive. I got a Brazilian Wax, and a Wax for my Underarms. I am extremely sensitive, even though the wax is not that hot, so she worked quickly and efficiently. I would say this was one of the least painful Brazilians I have received, and the pricing was really good. EJ is also overall just a really wonderful and pleasant person to know. She has great energy and matches you, and easy to talk to! Being a former beauty consultant, I am particular about beauty salons, and the level of service and care, as wells how clean and sanitary their methods are. EJ and the Wax Bar certainly meets my high standards! I highly recommend this spot!

Jackie convinced me to do it with her and thank god she did! It was so much better this time around. I ended up doing my legs as well! I'm not sure if it's because her wax is different, if she's Brazilian or what but she's amazing! My skin also has never been better since going to her. I notice a huge difference when I skip a few months compared to when I go every month. I stared doing microdermabrasion which I loved!!!! I have adult acne/discoloration btw. Now, do the chemical peels because she recommend that's the best thing for my skin and to remove the acne scars. I leave there glowing every time. I don't love the feeling when my skin does peel afterwards but the results are 100% worth it. I was so depressed over my skin but she has helped me so much! She now has a new light that I started doing in between my peels that I am so excited about!!!! Such a sweet heart and she really cares about her customers and wants to truly help them. You are not just a number to her which is hard to find these days. She has a magic touch! As far as parking I usually park on the side street there or you can park across the street in the parking lot!

First time coming for sugaring as my normal wax spot did not have any openings this week. WOW!…read moreOfficially my new go to spot for all needs and I will be referring everyone here! I was able to get a last minute appointment this evening for full leg sugaring. Amber was outstanding. She checked me into my appointment and performed my service. She walked me through all the details of the process and went above and beyond helping to get some of the ingrown hairs on my shins from years of waxing. They have a small waiting area out front with water and small snacks and candies. Everything here is super pink and extremely clean and honestly just such a great energy. I really enjoyed how Amber asked if I had any allergies prior to starting the service and walked me through the clean ingredients that would be used on all products. Sugaring does not hurt at all compared to waxing and this officially is my new favorite service spot. Easily located on E Ridgewood Ave. Parking can sometimes be difficult depending on your appointment time.

What could I lose, I was cutting it all off any way. Best decision ever! She saved my hair and made it better than ever. Kate worked tirelessly to correct the color, Bernadette nursed my cut back to life and I am so happy. I have been there multiple times since and have always had the same, exceptional, experience. Bernadette, Kate and everyone there are truly worth knowing. Make sure to tell Dennis you saw him mentioned on Yelp. It will make his day. :) Going to Hair Designers will make yours.

First the good stuff, friendly staff, welcoming with a smile, clean and attractive salon…read more However, I received the worst haircut of my life the other day from Angela. I wanted 2 inches cut off but then she suggested 4 which I agreed to. The problem was not the length she cut off but the hack job she did with cutting crazy layers in my hair. I went in with hair to the middle of my back and came out with hair to my shoulders which is fine. Unfortunately, she hacked away at my hair and created awkward and very short layers all over my head. Now it is impossible for me to wear my hair in a ponytail or a twist because of these layers--some are as short as two inches. And I showed her pictures of what I wanted which just had a face frame layer. Now that my hair is shorter it is frizzy and curly which only makes it even shorter. I actually want to cry when I look in the mirror now. And the kicker to all of this, when I go to pay, this awful haircut (no color) cost me $80!!! For a No frills salon next to a deli in Ho-Ho-Kus. Very disappointing and it will take months to grow out the damage.

At Victorian Nails and Spa, you truly feel like you're not just at any nail salon, but a salon…read morethat has pushed the limits to really create a relaxing "spa" experience. First of all, it is incredibly clean here and all the workers are not just respectable, but also very friendly. They have a large variety of regular and gel nail polishes available of both classic and trendy colors. I feel incredibly relaxed everytime I come here. If you have the time, I really recommend the "Spa Pedicures". They involve various steps that include deep cleaning, exfoliating, hydrating, and massaging of your feet and lower legs. I find that they're really worth the extra dollars and they add to the overall "spa" experience of coming to this salon. I also wonder if some of the workers here have taken massage classes. The foot massages I have had with the "Spa Pedicures" have really been excellent, incredibly rejuvinating and healing on the pressure points of my feet. Likewise, I've had some really great mini upper back massages here while waiting for my nails to dry! I think my experiences here are ultimately due to how "above and beyond" the owner and workers go in order to make this salon feel like a haven in which one can hide away and pamper during a stressful day.

The salon is kept very clean, the staff is friendly, and the quality of manicures, pedicures, and waxing is top-notch. I often get a gel manicure that involves two colors- with a half moon design from the cuticle up in one of the colors, and the rest of the nail in the second one, and always come out very pleased with the results. The design comes out very evenly on each nail, and the attention to detail and perfection is quite impressive. I highly recommend this place for a mani, pedi, or wax appointment as the level of service is second to none.

I asked for a basic manicure with no color, but I left feeling disappointed. My nails actually looked worse than when I came in. They were scratched up with file marks, my cuticles were still showing, and my hands were never soaked in warm water like I've had done at other salons. One finger even ended up bleeding. When it came time to pay, I was also asked to tip in cash, which felt uncomfortable. I paid $20 and left feeling like I needed to go fix my nails somewhere else. Definitely not what I was expecting and I won't be going back.
