My daughter's wedding was at this beautiful venue. We couldn't have asked more of a perfect place for my daughter and her wife's special day. The gentleman in the morning was so helpful with bringing in a table for us and making sure it was clean for us to use. The lady that answers the phone is always helpful and kind. Their bouquets came out so beautifully and smelt wonderful. Nothing like fresh flowers for an occasion. We highly recommend their flowers and event area. I really wanted to give this place more stars, but the arrangement I received and purchase was not worth $50 for a graduation bouquet with very little flowers. The florist was really nice though. The place didn't have much to choose from I settled because that was the nearest floral shop for last min flowers. For my moms birthday, I wanted to get her a lovely bouquet of flowers... Turns out it's not as easy as you might think to choose a local businesses, to try to keep local institutions in business in the midst of a pandemic and economic crisis for our small community businesses. Prior to going over to the shop, I called to confirm they were open, as I've run into many businesses incorrectly posting their hours, or not editing what's posted on Yelp to reflect their new COVID-19 hours. Well, I spoke with a man, he was nice, helpful, began taking my info for a delivery. I asked what the prices were and he said pre-made bouquets stared at $65 and went up to $120+. That kind of shocked me that the low-end bouquet was already $65, but I wasn't put off by the price alone. I decided, though, that I wanted to view the flowers myself before dropping upwards of $65 for a pre-made bouquet. I told the gentleman that I'll come in to select the bouquet. 40 minutes later, I was standing outside of the shop (12:50pm on a Sunday, shop closes at 3:00pm) and there was no one to be seen in the shop. The OPEN sign in the window was illuminated to indicate "customers welcome" but all evidence to the contrary. No hand written sign in the window stating "closing early today" or "back in 15 min." Peering into the window from outside on the curb, the arrangements in the case looked nice. ‍ Couldn't really tell since I couldn't see them up close. I called the shop 3 more times standing outside the shop. I waited about 15 min thinking maybe the lone employee had run across the street to A&W to grab a quick lunch? We'll never know. I went to another local florist on 10th Street that said they were open on Yelp (businesses can edit their open hours on Yelp site, right?) but they too were closed. I finally went to Smart n Final and grabbed several small bouquets of assorted flowers, roses, and mumms, and took them home to assemble my own bouquet, actually 2! For the $35 in grocery store flowers I bought I was able to put together 2 bouquets. So... ??? read more

If I could give a lesser rating I would, they deserve a MINUS 10!!!! I have never received this type of customer service. I am so disappointed in this business. I am a return customer of many years, but I can assure you I will never give them another cent. I ordered the same arrangement that I've ordered in the past for my mom's birthday and what they delivered this time was a total and complete joke. I paid $200 dollars for a birthday spring arrangement and got a total of 6 flowers and a ton of greenery. The grocery store sell better arrangements than these people. When I spoke to the owner about it, I expected some kind of concern for an unhappy return customer....instead I received a very pompous owner who proceeded to tell me that he would not do anything about the arrangement that it was exactly what I ordered.....I specifically requested a tall vase, not a .99 cent store vase, which is what I got. A spring bouquet should have color and various different flowers but I only got white and pink. It wasn't a gender reveal arrangement it was for my moms birthday. Had my wedding here today and I have to say, this place is a hidden gem. The people running this place were all AMAZING and I literally helped every step of the way. They are still doing weddings and actually provided a lot (tables,chairs, etc). The pricing was awesome considering all that it included and what the venue let us use. They don't allow outside flowers BUT the pricing on their flowers is great when bundled with wedding packages. If you want a small intimate wedding I recommend Janets flowers a hundred percent. Hands down Janet's Flowers is THE best flower shop in Modesto, if not the Central Valley. The wristlets are the *only* ones in town to wear if you're in high school (which thank GAWD I no longer am). One high school winter formal long ago... I decided to let my date get the corsage and boutiner.... unfort he didn't go with Janet's Flowers. I always got my formal flowers from here, and therefore was THE hottest thing at the dance. Except for when my date messed up and got us these drab lackluster flowers. It really was a sad sad sight. So this flower shop is a DEF must for any high school dance needs. Not only do they do a FAB job with corsages.... but any other special occasion or "just because." My mother's flowers at her wedding were peonies, and my dad wanted to get her some for their anniversary. Janet's was the only place who worked with us to get the right flowers, even though it wasn't really "peony season," as other florists told us. The service is super great and super sweet. I live out of town (about 1.5 hours away) and called Janet's on Monday to order flowers for a memorial service being held Saturday (today). From the stock photographs on Janet's website, I picked out an arrangement that I felt matched the personality of my dearly departed friend. When I arrived at the chapel this morning for the service, I was beyond pleased with the amazing, thoughtful, beautiful arrangement that Janet's created and delivered. I had my Wedding there on 02/18/2019. We paid for the $500 package. Forgive me for not having all of the exact details as i did not find out everything until a few days later. So $500 package came with my Bouquet, my Husband's boutonnière. In the contract it stated they would pick out the flowers after we told them out colors. They asked if i had a preference on flowers. I asked for burgundy carnations. We came back a week after we signed the contract and discussed flowers more, purchasing two bridesmaids bouquets and 7 more Boutonnières. We again discussed flowers and we agreed on Ivory roses and Burgundy Carnations. So fast forward to my wedding day. We get there and start getting ready. My mom had to ask two times for the flowers before they finally brought them to us, about 15 minutes before we started and it was totally not the flowers we asked for. The Officiant apparently showed up late. The lady who was helping coordinate and was in charge of the music showed up in jeans, T-Shirt, and sneakers. I'm not asking for a ball gown but at some one's wedding business formal is appropriate. Oh oh oh! And my personal favorite one, they were apparently showing someone the chapel right before we started the ceremony. I will make sure I post my story on every social media outlet I can. I had an issue that has not been resolved for WEEKS now. I will not get into detail about what happened because I am giving Johhny the owner a chance to call me back. I voiced my concerns over three weeks ago, he said he would call me the next day, and he has not yet done that. I have called 5 times after that, have left messages (with his employees) asking him to please call me back, and I have yet to hear back from him. There is a way to work this out, but running away is not the way to handle it. The first time I spoke to him on the phone, he was very rude, unprofessional and did not even give me a chance to talk, and was talking over me. All I ask is a phone call back or I will make sure I put the whole story on every social media outlet, and report your business to the BBB. Due to my work schedule, I am not able to come in, in person, but at this point I am going to have to take time off work to come and speak to him in person, if Johnny can not have the common courtesy to give a paying customer a call back. I was very disappointed with my experience at Janet's Flowers! I came here to order prom flowers for my son and wanted something modern and nice. I specifically mentioned this to the two people that helped me and drove about 20 miles from my home to this shop I thought had a good reputation. They told me flowers would be ready on Wed. for pick up and the prom wasn't until Fri. I became a little skeptical and mentioned I wanted to make sure they were fresh (after all I paid $53.81 for a boutonniere & corsage) and asked if I could pick them up Thursday instead, the girl at the desk said, "yes I could." I arrived after work Thursday and there were no flowers ready for me and the person who was working began passing blame and said I could probably get them delivered if I called in the morning. Friday, the day of the prom, I called and the flowers still were not ready and they said they could not deliver them. I had to get off work early and drive the 40 mi. round trip again to the shop, when I arrived the flowers were not made the way my son had specifically asked for them to be made. Again the workers began passing blame to other unseen employees. Needless to say, I found this shop to be incompetent, expensive, unaccommodating and was not very impressed at all with the flowers themselves. They were mediocre in my opinion and not a modern arrangement. With the loss of work and gas I spent (not to mention my time) these flowers cost me at least $100. I did not receive an apology and the girl helping me started to disassemble the boutonniere right in front of me, after I told her I was in a hurry to return to work, and that my son did not want the bling in it. It was really quite stressful and I will continue to search for a capable and modern flower shop in my area, but will not be returning here! read more

If our guest list were smaller, we would've happily been married in their venue, as well, but we have too much family for us to have fit. What a HORRIBLE experience with this so called business! My fiancé and I had originally booked a date for our wedding reception in January that would take place in June. We made our initial $300 deposit the day we booked our date. My mother did us a huge favor by blessing us with paying the remaining $1,000 balance on her credit card and agreeing to take responsibility for it as our wedding gift. Some events took place late March that forced us to postpone,and perhaps no longer have the need for a reception. For 2 weeks we tried to get a hold of the owner,Johnny,by going into the shop and calling him so we could inform him we were canceling our booking and to have the money refunded back to my moms credit card. We were unsuccessful to get a hold of him until Easter Sunday. When I told him that we were in need of canceling,he kept saying he didn't understand why we would need to cancel. I told him it was due to personal reasons and that it was an event that may no longer even take place. He went on to tell me he would have no problem switching our date but that he would not allow us to cancel and get the money back. He then had the nerve to say I was rude for disturbing his place of business on Easter and insisted he would no longer discuss this issue with me because it was Easter and that I would have to wait another day to talk to him! He repeated multiple times that he was not willing to talk to me because he claimed it was rude for me to call his business on Easter to resolve this matter and said he would change the date but not cancel and to call him another day,then he hung up on me! First of all,if you're a business owner and are so big on the idea of celebrating any particular holiday with your family and not wanting to be disturbed,wouldn't you be closed for the day and be with your family? Second of all,regardless of the fact of what day it was,you have chosen to be open for business that day,therefore any customer has the right to contact you for any question or concern they may have without being treated like shit. I know what Easter is all about,which makes no sense that a business owner who insists so much that Easter is so important to him would treat a customer in that manner. If you're open for business,you're open for business and anything that comes with that. My fiancé called shortly after and he told her the same thing before saying he would not refund us and hung up on her as well. The very next day,I cut my day short at work just to be able to go in in person to speak to whoever was there. I walked in as if I was a brand new customer and asked to see their wedding packages. It clearly states that no refunds would be issued IF a cancellation is requested WITHIN 30 days of the date of the scheduled event. The day we called to cancel,we were 48 days away from the date of June 3rd. After verifying what the terms were,I asked the lady who was there at time more about the policy about canceling. By some great,mysterious,unknown,yet convenient and coincidental reason,she tells me that just as of yesterday (the day I was treated like shit by the owner) that their policy has now changed,that no refunds would be issued at all. That's fine and all for new customers from the day forward,but at the time we booked,it was under the old policy which was clearly stated on their contract that we had. The lady had told me the change was because yesterday they had an issue with a customer who wanted a refund a week before the scheduled event. I laughed to myself because I knew that customer was me,but the date was still 48 days out. After I finally told her who I really was,she crossed the street to get the manager,Johnny. The first thing he told me was that I was rude for calling yesterday on Easter. He was not budging on refunding my moms credit card even though I had the contract in hand that stated we could get a refund if we were outside of 30 days. I told him regardless of what they say their new policy is,it's not in writing or stated anywhere and that he would have to commit to the terms we agreed on in January and to what was STILL in writing even though they claimed to have updated their policy just the day before. Another female worker who was there at the time and witnessed every thing,went on to say "you are a shitty person for coming in here pretending you were a new customer" I laughed because I was pretty shocked that I was being looked at as if I was the one in the wrong. I went to get my mothers money refunded because she had paid for an event that was no longer going to take place. After much debate with the owner,we agreed in a hand written contract that he would refund my mother $250/week starting that Wednesday for the next 4 consecutive Wednesdays. Even though the issue was somewhat resolved,and I say somewhat,because I know by law,the refund would have to take place within 3-5 business days,I just still can't believe how we were treated! We ordered flowers on Thursday at 2:30 for Saturday and called and canceled that same day on Thursday at 5:30 and they refused to cancel my order and would not refund me my 150.00. I went to this flower shop in hopes of getting the perfect corsage and boutonierre for formal. The staff was great and everything, and the corsage looked really pretty. But it started falling apart way sooner than I expected. I'm in a floral class in high school, and I know what good corsages are supposed to look like and how they should be made for these kinds of events. For 15 dollars at my school, I could've gotten a great corsage that was nice and taped the way a corsage should be for a dance. But I insisted to my mom that Janet's was the way to go. However, when I inspected it more closely, the corsage flowers were simply hot glued to the tulle and the wristlet!! I was so disappointed, as I paid 35 dollars for it and got such poor results. DO NOT get your corsages from this flower shop. Although they may look nice, they fall apart quickly and are definitely not worth the price you pay for them. read more
