Dr. Xu is always helpful and friendly. She has another office in Carmel alongside this downtown location, so I believe each location is only open a few days out of the week. I never have an issue getting my appointment and they seem to keep their schedule open enough to accommodate for any last minute changes. I find that they are good about taking insurance and anything not covered is cheaper than what I've heard of other dentists. For example, I had to get a night guard for my teeth which cost me $150, while these can often cost $400. I think the only thing that might make this office not ideal is that there's more open space so you can hear what goes on around you in other rooms. This doesn't bother me at all but I know some folks prefer a more quiet space.

Somehow, the appointment was changed to another date after my confirmation -- with no call, no explanation, and no notice. Impressive system. I drove nearly two hours in snowy weather and arrived on time, only to be told my appointment no longer existed that day. When I calmly showed proof and tried to explain, the staff's response was eye-rolling, visible impatience, and zero effort to help resolve an error that was not mine. I was left feeling dismissed, unwelcome, and frankly uncomfortable. I can't say why I was treated that way, but it's hard not to wonder whether appearance or background played a role when basic courtesy and professionalism disappear so quickly. When I asked for their names to document the incident, they refused and told me to leave. If accountability, communication, and respectful treatment matter to you, I'd suggest confirming things multiple times -- and maybe still prepare for surprises.

Cons is that they only have two seats for guests. Hygienist: Super friendly & conversational! They check your gum health, scrape off buildup, & polish! However, he saved a tooth 18 years prior when my previous dentist kept putting a temporary filling in my tooth. The tooth lasted for 18 years he was switching out the filling and discovered that he needed to do an emergency root canal there on the spot and he just numbed me with needles which did not hurt! He was able to perform the root canal with no pain! The only downside is that he is more expensive than most dentist; however, he has always allowed me to set up a payment plan. Within the last 10 years, he has not returned any of my calls to determine his costs for a dental cleaning with no insurance and to determine if a payment plan could be established! I have never had to call multiple times, they have always reached back out to me first! Dr. Bailey performed a root canal on me last year, and it went perfectly! He prescribed an antibiotic prior to the procedure, and was extremely kind and empathetic during the entire process. I had NO problems following the procedure and have not had an issue with the tooth since. I used to hate going to the dentist due to past bad experiences, but Dr. Bailey and his office of amazing staff have made up for those experiences tenfold!
