Regarding: Indy Endodontics (Avon) Appointment Office Personnel…read moreI learned from my regular dentist I had an abscessed tooth and would need to get my first root canal. My dentist said they will provide the referral and 3D scan to the root canal specialists I chose. I contacted Indy Endodontics (IE) because they accepted my dental insurance and received very good reviews. Upon contacting IE it didn't take to long to find out they wanted to charge me up to $315 to do another 3D scan. This was evident when they would not look at the 3D scan my dentist sent them on a CD and then attach in an email using Dropbox. I do not recommend this practice as long as they give a potential patient the run around. It is hard enough to go through a root canal when you have to have a crown drilled through to remove the calcified nerve. After contacting many other independent endodontists, I was able to get the work done more professionally from initial contact to completion. Senior Citizen

I arrived right on schedule for my appointment and they were ready for me. Ben and the lady assisting him (I feel terrible for not catching her name, but she was awesome) repeatedly checked in to make sure I was ok, thoroughly explaining what they were doing every step of the way...which was super cool because I love to know all the things. As someone with a high tolerance for all things, I was anxious about not being numb enough but I felt zero pain during or after. There's also a word puzzle on the ceiling to keep you distracted, if you're into those.

No swelling, no infection and healed up quite nicely. I was out to dinner the same night and people were shocked I had a root canal the same day. I guess there really is a stigma about the procedure and everyone including myself was impressed at the speedy recovery. I returned for my follow up appointment this past week just to ensure everything still looks great. It was really just a formality and for peace of mind. I was reminded of how kind and friendly Dr Nasser and his staff are. If I ever need a root canal in the future, I will definitely return and be way less anxious knowing I can trust him to do a great job! He was also very good about checking in with me the next day and making sure I wasn't in pain. Thanks again!

I am here to write an honest to God review, Dr. rapp was extremely annoyed of my girlfriend…read morewhenever she was crying and nervous from her root canal today, as she was crying he would consistently make a big sigh like we are one big bother. On top of the sighs he kept telling her to quit crying knowing she is emotional, of course I took reasonable action and told him that all she needs is comfort and which I did, but when you are a Dr. your job is not to huff and puff but to care to that patient and make them feel welcomed as well as making them as comfortable as possible and if you can't do that as a Dr. then don't be a Dr. anytime I had a question he seemed very irritated about answering any of my questions meanwhile my girlfriend is loopy and not totally the most comprehensive with her current state at that moment. Overall the procedure went well no doubt about that but out of all that, the end of my review just lies with being a better person Dr. Rapp, treat people how you would like yo be treated not like they are any less than you just because you went to school to do something you don't seem like you enjoy. Especially when it comes to other people. You do your job to help others not to just get your pay check and leave.

I'd had horrible tooth pain a few weeks ago that had left me unable to sleep for two nights, and I…read moresuspected the worst. It wasn't my first rodeo: I'd had a root canal three years prior, and while the pain didn't approach that, it was pretty darn close. A visit to my regular dentist, Mark Stevenson, proved unfruitful: He wanted to give me something to stop grinding and refill a cavity--the cavity that turned out to be the tooth that needed a root canal. I know this setup and payoff sounds kind of like a Wayne Wright commercial (probably lost on people not familiar with the tv commercials for the lawyer in Texas), but thank God I stumbled on Dr. Anderson and his team at Keystone Endo. My dentist had said he was going to refer me, but didn't end up, so I Googled an endodontist, praying I could get treatment before my head exploded. Keystone Endo's offices look brand new; they're done in calming shades of blue and brown, and even have a Keurig in the waiting room so you can make yourself all kinds of coffee and tea. When I was brought back to the examining rooms, my very proficient nurse figured out the problem in a matter of minutes via their quick, digital xrays and some sort of -30 degree dry ice type deal they put on your tooth to determine which ones are dead. They started treatment right away, while I was watching television. The pain was gone that night; I didn't even fill my antibiotics or take more than a few advil, and office members have called to check in with me several times since. Specialty dentistry is so expensive and SCARY that it's important to know that you're spending your money with someone who knows what they're doing and cares about their patients. Dr. Anderson's team fulfills all that and more. Makes the holes in my teeth and wallet feel that much fuller.

They use really updated techniques, including a GentleWave system, which honestly I had never heard of before but seemed to be really efficient. Overall, it took about 40 minutes and it was completely painless. They took follow up x-rays and showed me the results after and it looked great. I really can't recommend this office enough. If I ever need another procedure like this, I will definitely come back.

I sent several emails and finally someone calls me back and it became clear they did not understand the classification process (even though I sent the form that outlines what that means). This is unbelievably unprofessional. I am deploying in 2 months and can't get this resolved without their cooperation. At this point, I had to request a refund for the exam so I can go to another endodontist. Please do not go here if you utilize Tricare, even if you're self-pay.

Then some lady (Not the Doctor) looked at the issue and sent me home with no explanation. My second visit I was seen by the Doctor for about five minutes then he left the room never to return. I sat in the chair for 15 minutes before they sent me home again. The third visit had I several "recommended" and expensive 3-D X-rays $150 a pop. Then I finally had my root canal. I thought that this was finally over until they overcharged me. Then they wrote me a check for the difference... IT BOUNCED!!! I called the billing department and spoke with Amanda who seemed annoyed I was asking for my money and the fee I received for the bounced check. I called the office 10 times in 6 weeks to let them know I had still not received my money. Amanda thought the best route was to lie to me over and over again telling me that she was "going to send it off" that same day. It's been two months and I still have not been reimbursed for their overcharge. If you value your time and money go to a different practice that isn't constantly over booked and doesn't gouge you with special expensive x-rays and doesn't overcharge you only to mail you a check that will bounce. The care I received here was mid at best. I've had a root canal before and this place makes a bad situation worst.

My first appointment, they were very thorough and made sure to explain everything that would be happening. I was able to ask questions and get the answers right then. The treatment I had took much less time than I expected. The endodontist was quick but does quality work. My dentist praised their work when I came back for follow ups, saying they did a great job--and usually do. My second appointment, they seemed less inclined to explain everything and more interested in getting things done. I had a mishap where I wasn't given enough numbing and felt a jolt of pain through my tooth while they were working. I'd told them I needed more than most people--genetic thing, unfortunately. He said he would give me more than he usually did, but not as much as the first time since they weren't doing as much invasive work. They said they didn't want me numb all day. But I'd rather take longer for it to wear off than feel that in the middle of a procedure. I was a bit miffed since I told them my needs multiple times. I mentioned I could feel something uncomfortable as they were propping me before the endodontist got started and the assistants made it sound like it was normal to feel it because of the type of tool they were using. It obviously wasn't because I then had the jolt of pain during the actual procedure. If I have to come back at some point, I'd advocate more forcefully for myself in that regard. But again, that was my only problem. They were very professional, kind, and didn't mind me bringing my weighted blanket or wearing my headphones the whole time. The end result was good according to my dentist. So I'd still recommend them.
