Was not super happy I had to get this fixed. The last time I had a filling done it was a very stressful full experience. Dr J is very easy going and talked about everything he was going to do. There was not a big needle and syringe involved in the numbing process. He uses some kind of machine that does the Novacane. It was pretty smooth and easy. In no time the right side of my jaw, lip and cheek were numb. He got to work with the drilling. Not totally pleasant but nothing like I remember. He cleaned out the cavity. Prepped the area and added a UV curing adhesive and the stuff used for the filling was also UV curing. The whole process only took about 30 min. Dr J called the next day to make sure everything was ok. So far next day zero pain or anything. It took quite a few hours for the numbing to go away day of. And I don't know if it was the Novacane or my anxiety meds but I was super tired when I got home and slept 3 hours. I hope no more cavities for 30 plus more years.

Dr. Xu is always helpful and friendly. She has another office in Carmel alongside this downtown location, so I believe each location is only open a few days out of the week. I never have an issue getting my appointment and they seem to keep their schedule open enough to accommodate for any last minute changes. I find that they are good about taking insurance and anything not covered is cheaper than what I've heard of other dentists. For example, I had to get a night guard for my teeth which cost me $150, while these can often cost $400. I think the only thing that might make this office not ideal is that there's more open space so you can hear what goes on around you in other rooms. This doesn't bother me at all but I know some folks prefer a more quiet space.

I referred my husband to them because I heard good things about the dentist and he had a great experience especially since he suffered from periodontal disease. My oldest daughter then went next as she aged out of her pediatric dentist and this would be her first "adult" dentist. So I decided it was time for me to go. My dental hygienist was very nice and gentle even during the uncomfortable x-ray portion and as she explained my gums and tarter and how to keep it under control. I needed a crown and this part is what I hate but the dentist was very aware of my pain and made sure to provide me enough Novocain that I was numb and felt very little pain. And my hygienist was knowledgable, talked me through everything and even made a note in my chart about preferences much appreciated. Additionally, they do provide fluoride for their adult patients. This is crucial and I've been getting this ever since I've gone to the dentist. Meeting the dentist was great, she was personable and shared her advice with me about my concerns. She did not force me into any decisions and said it was my choice but she would air on the side of conservative treatment. My new dentist filled that cavity, got me a night guard which got rid of a lot of my jaw pain and I am now doing Invisalign through my new dentist to help with my issues as well.

The service care was below average and they did a terrible job at the X-Rays, having to get them re-done at another dental provider, even after sending them the ones this establishment took and sending it to them.
