Very "memorable" experience…read more I booked my appointment months in advance and confirmed when prompted. Somehow, the appointment was changed to another date after my confirmation -- with no call, no explanation, and no notice. Impressive system. I drove nearly two hours in snowy weather and arrived on time, only to be told my appointment no longer existed that day. When I calmly showed proof and tried to explain, the staff's response was eye-rolling, visible impatience, and zero effort to help resolve an error that was not mine. I was left feeling dismissed, unwelcome, and frankly uncomfortable. I can't say why I was treated that way, but it's hard not to wonder whether appearance or background played a role when basic courtesy and professionalism disappear so quickly. When I asked for their names to document the incident, they refused and told me to leave. If accountability, communication, and respectful treatment matter to you, I'd suggest confirming things multiple times -- and maybe still prepare for surprises.

They were able to get me in within two weeks for a routine cleaning and x-rays. The cleaning was good. I mentioned that I tend to gag with dental stuff, so they took extra care when placing the films for my x-rays and the tech kept checking on me and going super slow to ensure my comfort. I had a filling that had mostly fallen out. I was able to reschedule a follow up for two days later (they had them sooner, but it didn't work for my schedule). I asked if I would have to be numbed because I hate the dental shots. She said she was pretty confident she could pop out the old filling and replace it with no to minimal pain and she was right. My tooth hurt the tiniest bit, but I'm pretty sure it was just sensitivity when the cold water blasted it. I was in and out in about 20 minutes with my new filling and no numb, drooly mouth. They also accept children. My friend's entire family goes and say the dentists are really good with their kids as well. I don't doubt it. Each room is themed. My cleaning was in the Star Wars room and my filling was in the baseball room. There is plenty for kids (or kids at heart) to look at and be distracted by during dental procedures.

**Update on My Nuvia Implant Experience** I initially had…read morehigh hopes for my experience with Nuvia in Indianapolis, especially since I absolutely love my new teeth. However, the lack of follow-through regarding my medical records and insurance paperwork has left me extremely frustrated. Under HIPAA, I should have received my medical records, which include essential billing codes and charges needed for my insurance claims. Unfortunately, the management at Nuvia has refused to provide this information. My insurance company made multiple attempts to retrieve these records directly, but the office manager repeatedly denied their requests. It's disheartening when a dental office is unwilling to comply with legal requirements. Despite my efforts--including calls to different Nuvia locations and numerous emails--I've been unable to resolve this issue. As a result, I've missed out on $3,000 that my insurance would have covered. Balancing my responsibilities as a caregiver for my mother, who has Alzheimer's, and managing this situation has been incredibly challenging. At one point, they insisted I come in to leave my teeth for a few hours while they worked on them, which was never mentioned to me before. This added stress made me worry they might keep my teeth due to some financial arrangement with a third-party lender. I ultimately decided against it, as I felt uncomfortable with the lack of communication and transparency. While I appreciate the quality of my dental work, the unprofessionalism and inability to follow proper procedures have overshadowed my positive experience. I'm now considering filing a grievance with the state licensing board, and I can't recommend Nuvia based on my experience. If you're looking for a dental provider, I suggest exploring other options like ClearChoice, which I've heard better things about.

I am a perfectionist, and needed a partial for my front teeth. I wanted a prosthodontist that was also a perfectionist. One that pays close attention, and has a good eye for detail. DDS Phelps is that person. He patiently endured with me until we got it right to my satisfaction. He uses quality grade materials that are better than that of a dentists, and some other prosthodontists. This current partial looks as perfect as it can get. The last partial that he made me lasted over 10 years. I expect this one to last a long time as well. DDS Phelps receptionist Ann Marie is excellent also. She is organized, polite, personable, and does her best to get patients seen around their busy schedules. The total costs was very reasonable, especially given the time spent working out the details and getting the bite correct and comfortable....which is so important. The entire staff at DDS Phelps office works hard to meet the intricate needs of their patients. I would highly recommend DDS Phelps to meet any of your detailed, cosmetic dental needs.

I was referred to Dr. Phelps by my family dentist after he and my periodontist ran out of options to fix failing crowns (4 upper front teeth). The consultation was clear, follow-up was prompt, and expectations were set. For the next 6 months I spent quite a bit of time with Dr. Phelps and Markita getting implants. They communicated well, kept me at ease, and truly cared about the quality of their work and my long-term satisfaction. Appointment reminders came via email and text. If needed, assistance was just a quick email or phone call away. For the first time in years I want to show off my beautiful smile - a positive life-changing experience! I'm glad the procedure is over, but sad that I don't get to see them often anymore. Good people.

Absolutely the Best Dental Practice in America!…read more After moving from Indiana to Florida, I tried several dentists in the Tampa Bay area--none of them even came close to the experience at Holistic Dental Wellness on Greyhound Court. I've been a patient here for over twenty years, and I can honestly say I will never go anywhere else. The staff is not only highly skilled, but they are also some of the most genuinely friendly and caring people you'll ever meet. They make every patient feel comfortable and truly cared for. This practice goes far beyond dentistry--they care about your overall wellness. The difference is night and day compared to anywhere else I've been. I would fly across the country--or even across the world--just to be treated here. That's how much I value and trust this team. If you're looking for dental care that combines expertise, compassion, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place.

We became close friends and have remained in touch throughout the years, visiting each other regularly after we moved to different states. As fate would have it, a year after I stared medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Wajdi began dental school at the Dental College of Georgia in the adjacent building on campus and we got to to live in the same building, cooking for each other and giving me a daily opportunity to practice my terrible, fledgling Arabic. As teenagers in high school together, I knew I wanted to be a doctor and Wajdi knew he wanted to be a dentist. I told him that one day when he had his own practice, I'd come get my teeth cleaned. Well, today, fifteen years after we met (to the month, in fact), it finally came full circle. I flew 2,015 miles just to come visit his practice and have my teeth cleaned. It was without a doubt, the most incredibly thorough dental cleaning I have ever had in my life. My teeth feel so clean that it is as if I can physically feel them sparkling in my mouth. It was such a delight to finally get to have my dental work done by my dear friend of all these years and very satisfying to look back at our teenage dreams of careers in dentistry and medicine and see that our both our plans have come to such satisfying fruition. Thanks, Wajdi!

I was referred to this office for wisdom tooth removal and had a deeply disappointing experience…read more During my consultation, I provided my insurance information and specifically asked the staff to obtain a pre-authorization from my insurer outlining all costs before I agreed to schedule. I was told my out-of-pocket cost would be $250, so I proceeded based on that assurance. After the surgery was completed, I unexpectedly received an additional bill for about $300. When I called to ask why, the employee I spoke with was abrupt and unprofessional. Instead of helping clarify the charge, she pointed to fine print in a signed form and immediately threatened to send me to collections within 10 days if I didn did not pay. I ultimately paid the collections bill to protect my credit, but the situation could have been avoided with honest communication. When I called again, the office manager admitted they never actually pursued the pre-authorization I had requested. I was then told their standard practice is to estimate or "guesstimate" costs based on prior experience with insurers rather than confirm coverage in advance. That approach is not transparent and directly contradicts what I was told before scheduling. Although the manager apologized and accepted responsibility, the office refused to refund my payment after checking with corporate. I also developed a post-surgical complication. Because of this office's limited hours, I had to return to my original dentist for care. My dentist found broken tooth fragments pushing through my gums that had been missed during surgery, requiring additional treatment. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to seek resolution. Even after the office manager had taken blame, the practice actively battled the BBB report. Only after the case was closed did they finally acknowledge their error. That resistance to accountability was extremely frustrating. I chose this office solely because I was given clear cost information that turned out to be only an estimate rather than the verified authorization I requested. Accurate communication about billing is essential in healthcare, and that responsibility rests with the provider. Based on misleading pricing, inadequate follow-up care, and poor accountability, I cannot recommend this practice.

No pleasantries, no evidence of kindness or caring. After filling out all of the duplicate paperwork, I was told I needed an xray. I had just had X-rays taken at my regular dentist within the last 2 months. I have extreme difficulty with X-rays, on a normal basis. But with the way the machine was setup, it was too high. I could not tolerate it! I felt I was choking. I told the tech (?) she told me that I wasn't choking. I HAD to do this xray. I told her I could not physically do it, couldn't they get my xray from the referring dentist. She looked to the front office where someone was shaking their head and saying "no." The"tech" said we would have to reschedule. I had been here 2 hours already filling out paperwork without seeing the surgeon at all. Not coming back ever! I don't have to. I will definitely find another oral surgeon, that hopefully cares or at least can pretend with the patients. The whole situation was uncomfortable, cruel, unappealing and uncomfortable. And I didn't even get to meet the surgeon...
