Very "memorable" experience. I booked my appointment months in advance and confirmed when prompted. Somehow, the appointment was changed to another date after my confirmation -- with no call, no explanation, and no notice. Impressive system. I drove nearly two hours in snowy weather and arrived on time, only to be told my appointment no longer existed that day. When I calmly showed proof and tried to explain, the staff's response was eye-rolling, visible impatience, and zero effort to help resolve an error that was not mine. I was left feeling dismissed, unwelcome, and frankly uncomfortable. I can't say why I was treated that way, but it's hard not to wonder whether appearance or background played a role when basic courtesy and professionalism disappear so quickly. When I asked for their names to document the incident, they refused and told me to leave. If accountability, communication, and respectful treatment matter to you, I'd suggest confirming things multiple times -- and maybe still prepare for surprises. read more

I have been here twice now and had excellent experiences both times. The new patient process is pretty quick and painless. They were able to get me in within two weeks for a routine cleaning and x-rays. The cleaning was good. I mentioned that I tend to gag with dental stuff, so they took extra care when placing the films for my x-rays and the tech kept checking on me and going super slow to ensure my comfort. I had a filling that had mostly fallen out. I was able to reschedule a follow up for two days later (they had them sooner, but it didn't work for my schedule). I asked if I would have to be numbed because I hate the dental shots. She said she was pretty confident she could pop out the old filling and replace it with no to minimal pain and she was right. My tooth hurt the tiniest bit, but I'm pretty sure it was just sensitivity when the cold water blasted it. I was in and out in about 20 minutes with my new filling and no numb, drooly mouth. They also accept children. My friend's entire family goes and say the dentists are really good with their kids as well. I don't doubt it. Each room is themed. My cleaning was in the Star Wars room and my filling was in the baseball room. There is plenty for kids (or kids at heart) to look at and be distracted by during dental procedures. read more

I had my first visit today and it was a surprisingly pleasant one. The office is very clean with modern decor and the staff were all extremely kind and helpful. I was seen by Dr. Stephanie Martin. She took her time and explained things thoroughly. She addressed my concerns and made sure that all of my questions were answered. The panoramic x-ray room had some pretty sweet toys/prizes displayed, but I guess there's an age limit on them because I wasn't offered one! Lol I will say that when my appointment was scheduled I was told what I could expect to pay for my initial exam and x-rays and that estimate/quote was much lower than what I was actually billed. If you aren't sure what the cost will be, it's better to provide a range or no pricing at all. read more

On 22Jul25 My top right molar broke in half from top to bottom. My filing from 60+ years before was the culprit. I researched yelp for dentists nearby and settled on Martin Dentistry. So glad I did. I am a stroke victim and paralyzed on my dominant left side. I called and explained my situation to Shannon who was very understanding and helpful. Medical history forms needed to be completed before my appointment the following day. I drove to their office and Shannon assisted me in completing all of the paperwork. It would have been difficult with my handicap but Shannon made it easy by assisting. The following day, I arrived at 9:50 for my 10:00 A.M. appointment. Sara, the Doctors assistant, took me back to the dentistry room at 9:55. Sara was most courteous and helpful. She took one x-ray of the troublesome tooth. Promptly Dr Lindsey Garrison, my new dentist arrived. It was readly apparent that she had reviewed my medical history. She reviewed my situation and carefully explained the pros and cons of my various options. I choose to do a crown but my schedule does not allow the fitting until September. Sara instantly prepared a written estimate of my charges for the eventual completed procedure for my approval. No ambiguity...no surprises. I like that! Dr Garrison removed the old filling, cleaned up the opening and put in a temporary filling which she shaped like a tooth and polished for my temporary use in the interim. I was in and out in less that 50 minutes. Polite, compassionate, professional, clean facilities that are well appointed. Great handicap accessability. I've been coming here for ~7 months, by far the best dental care I've had. My insurance in the past was garbage so I hadn't seen a dentist in probably ten-ish years. Dr. Lindsey was fantastic--she helped make a great plan to fill all my cavities and get my teeth healthy again. I had horrible gumline cavities on my two front teeth that embarrassed me to no end, Dr. Lindsey fixed them right up and I can't believe how much more confident I am in my smile. She is super kind, great bedside manner, and very gentle. All the hygienists are also great and make you as comfortable as possible. Overall amazing care and very very clean. read more

While the customer service was pleasant enough, I was not satisfied with the dental service. My procedure was explained to me and the risks involved, so that was a plus. However, after getting a root canal and crown, I expressed that I felt pressure with my bite. They adjusted it on two separate occasions, however, it still felt off when they were telling me it was fixed. I decided I must just be losing my mind and that it was in my head; even though pictures showed my smile had become uneven. During one appointment, I advised the filling on the crown didn't feel smooth and the reply was something along the lines of she hadn't done it at the last appointment and would do it at the next since the room we were in didn't have the needed tools. Again, I didn't think much of it and agreed to have it done next appointment. Then there was miscommunication regarding my insurance coverage. The estimates they provided were off, and while I understand they are estimates, they didn't factor in the root canal that they referred me for. So, I finally decided there was too much going on for me to continue going there and started looking for a new dentist. That's when I decided this review was necessary. My new dentist informed me that the crown was not done correctly and doesn't line up like it should. As such, I have a slight gap between my tooth and the crown that is sure to cause issues down the road. This is my first crown so I assumed it was normal. Additionally, I told my new dentist about the pain I was having and explained that it was probably an in-between tooth cavity that I was aware of, however, I was advised that wasn't the case and the pain was because my crown was not sitting right and it was effecting my bite. She immediately was able to tell my teeth were hitting incorrectly and fix it. I wouldn't recommend going to Martin Dentistry because I wouldn't trust their work. Obviously a lot of others feel differently about them so maybe it's just case by case and for some reason I continuously ended up with them having an off day. But I had to share my experience when the results will cost me additional money and others should be aware. read more

I feel comfortable enough during covid to continue to get my regular cleanings as the place is super clean (and was before!) Scheduling and rescheduling if needed has always been very easy. I was a patient for several years in the noughties and was always very happy with the the service. Upon recently moving back into close proximity, I decided to go in for a cleaning and to have my teeth whitened. Not only did they not do a thorough cleaning (obvious plaque remained along the inner gumline), the bleach they provided for the whitening did absoutely nothing, and I followed the instructions to a tee. When I told them that I was unhappy with the results, they did not offer to make it right - they merely offered to send my lab results to my next dentist. They also weren't very good about sheduling. What could've/should've been taken care of in one visit (I was there for 20 of the allotted 45 min session), was stretched into two visits. All in all, I just felt that they were more concerned about getting paid than they were providing good service and ensuring patient satisfaction. read more

I've been on the hunt for a good quality dentist. This place had great reviews so I took a chance. I've never thought that I would be excited for my dentist appointment! The staff is genuinely friendly and I feel welcomed every time I walk though those doors. They made my first appointment smooth and I felt confident in my visit. Dr. Stephanie Martin is a real accomplished dentist who is not only highly educated and skilled, but also very practical as it relates to treatment options. For my 88 yo mother, a new patient, she repaired what we came in for the same day, and scheduled an upcoming visit to repair two teeth newly diagnosed needing restorations. She then put another tooth on "watch" to avoid additional expenses for an 88yo. I felt that so very appropriate considering that tooth may never cause a problem during her lifetime. Very classy...very ethical!! The other two restorations went smoothly as expected, and my mother was quite happy. Next, my son needed a few extractions of his primary teeth to allow for the permanent teeth to erupt as they should. Jack, albeit a bit nervous of the unknown, did just great under the care and expertise of Dr. Stephanie Martin. He is 13yo, and under her care and finesse, was able to have his teeth removed with only local anesthetic. One of the teeth had quite a long root (one generally taken care of by an oral surgeon), however; Dr. Stephanie patiently and effectively removed that tooth without any complications. So nice to avoid a trip to the oral surgeon and so nice to have an amazing dentist taking care of our families dental care. We would highly recommended Dr. Martin and other providers in that practice! read more

Had to fill out all the Insurance information before I made a visit to the office. Martin billed my insurance before I visited the office. The billing stated I had received all services billed and they were paid in full. Martin denistry had me in the office 5 times and took impressions each time. Each time they said the mold didn't take and they had to do it again. Over a five week period I recd nothing but a run around and another appointment for more impressions. Martin dentistry billed my Insurance $2,000.00. I recd nothing but insults and a run around, I would not send my dog to this place let alone another human. I would not recommend anything but to stay clear of this dishonest business. read more

I just got back from my routine dental cleaning and I'm as pleased as punch! My husband and I are both new-ish to Indy and I chose this dentist for us both because of the wonderful reviews here on Yelp! Not to mention, it's right in our Broad Ripple neighborhood. You feel at ease and comfortable right from the start. They have a nice lobby with modern decor, everything is clean yet inviting. The women who work at the desk greet you immediately, the wait is not long and all the hygienists, technicians and the dentists are just superb. The hygienist even laughed at my lame jokes! The final stage of the visit when you speak to the dentist was also just great. In the past, with other dentists, it always seemed to me the dentist was rushing through. I didn't feel this way at all at Martin Dentistry. She was completely calm, friendly and answered all my questions graciously. I know all insurance works differently, but for me, they take care of all the paperwork and such. No pay now and get reimbursed from the insurance company later. That's a huge relief for as I tend to be a paperwork procrastinator. Wonderful team! When our son is ready, this is where we'll take him, too! read more

The dentist made a joke to me about how he started his practice by accepting Medicaid patients in Muncie. Why would I think that a joke about people that rely on government assistance is funny? Why would a dentist repeat this to a patient? Your guess is as good as mine. I called to try to schedule an appointment for a tooth that was bothering me. Mentioned that one of the dentists and I had discussed treatment for it in the new year - the receptionist Stephanie was very rude and just kept telling me that she didn't see anything about this in the notes. First of all - even if it's not in the notes, I am telling you I have a painful tooth I need to have checked out, so what is the problem? I am in the process of moving out of state and wanted to have the tooth treated as quickly as possible in the coming year but really don't feel like dealing with a receptionist giving me an attitude, or giving any more business to someone who looks down on people whose business he needed early in his career. The dental services are good however the front desk staff is very rude. They kept changing my appointment times and I had to reschedule. They have their merchants code as doctor instead of dentists and therefore I was unable to use my Limited flex account. They were VERY rude about it. I will be happier at a better dental office. Update 9/13/18. I was told by this dentist that I had a cavity under a crown. I went to another dentist because Martin was horrible and after X-rays I was told that there is no cavity. While I don't have a fear of going to the dentist, I really don't like when dentists and hygenists only use water piks for cleanings because I have sensitivity to cold water...and being sprayed in the face. Martin Dentistry listens to me and performs my cleanings the 'old fashioned' way, which is more comfortable for me. Everyone is friendly and my experience here has always been positive. First, an important disclosure: my mother was my personal dental hygienist for 35 years. No one else had EVER cleaned my teeth. Then she went and retired. So I had to find a new dentist...and had to PAY for dentistry for the first time in my life! Super scary. Anyway, a coworker recommended Martin Dentistry to me after having a good experience. I was searching for someone and feeling pretty nervous about letting a non family member poke around at my teeth and gums, but I had a wonderful experience! The hygienic was friendly and informative. Very thorough too. Because I was a new patient, she took more X-ray pics that I was used to, and she also took digital pictures. Oh, and she checked to see how much recession there was with my gums and documented it for the future. Like I said, thorough. The dentist came in and was super friendly as well, cracking jokes. Both of them did, actually, and both asked about my mom, which was sweet. They were attentive, good at explaining things, and seemed to really work for my business. I mentioned to the dentist and hygentist on every visit for two years my teeth felt overtly sensitive and something did not feel right in a root canal. After no action and the need for answers, an alternative dentist confirmed I had an infected root canal that was eating away at my bone, in addition to multiple cavities needing filled. I had traumatic experiences personally and want to share so that you can avoid the pains I went through. Here are some data points. - The clinic recommended me to go through crown procedures two teeth though I didn't have pains. I trusted and agreed. Both teeth got infected after the crowning procedures and ended up in root canals. - Global average rate of crowns tuned into root canals is about 5-7%. One can argue I was unfortunate. 100% of conversion into traumatizing pains post crowning procedures and root canals with the clinic. Note that I took good care of all required post procedure measures. - One of my family dentists based in New York reviewed X ray and considered 1) one of the two recommended crown procedures was not needed 2) too much teeth structure was cut away during the procedures which could be the cause of the cause of infections 3) an adjacent tooth was damaged during the crown procedure and 4) there were noticeable open margins and misfit of the crown placements. Doctors might differ on views. A second opinion shall not be held as final conclusion and yet provides transparency I was not able to get through Martin. - As I raised concerns in a visit and requested an X-ray so that this clinic could help me to review the damaged tooth, I was rejected. A few lessons I learnt through this experience with Martin dentistry here in hope that you can avoid my pains: - Seek a second opinion when the clinic recommends you a lot "heavy duty" procedures, many more than your previous dentist (I recently moved to Indy). - Root canal referred to surgeons solves pains and infection. However it doesn't mean Martin clinic shall not be careful with crowning procedures to minimize the need and send you to root canal surgeons as a remedy. Recommend to search for a few other places if you need to do crowns. Good luck. read more

I am lucky that Martin Dentistry has been my dentist for 10+ years. They saved my teeth and, thus, my overall health. I arrived at my first appointment with significant repair needed. Scary! We (yep, I was involved) created a lengthy treatment plan. My physical and financial comfort directed the project. They explained EVERY procedure and cost and presented alternative options. I asked questions, and they were answered. Not one person in the office ever made me feel ashamed or embarrassed about the state of my dental health or the rate I could afford to address the issues. The Martin Dentistry team's goal was to get me well. Their office offers all of the bells and whistles. The doctors stay very well versed in new technology but are still not afraid to use old-school common sense problem-solving. When I had emergency dental needs, Martin Dentistry has always been there for me. They always have checked-in after significant procedures (and when I say checked in, I mean the Drs. themselves called). I have spent many hours in their dental chair, and everyone has been very kind and patient. Having moved across the country I had to face the dreaded task of finding a new physician, dentist, hair stylist, etc... it's not fun and there are usually a lot of frogs before the Prince. But I've definitely found my new dentist and couldn't be happier! I had a thorough cleaning and two fillings done at the Broad Ripple location; both experiences were very good.
