Ruthless business practice. I had overslept and missed my initial appointment and was told because…read moreof this they are unwilling to perform surgery on me. Furthermore, the lady on the phone was kind enough to inform me I would have a tough time finding another place accepting my insurance down the road. I am completely stunned. I don't even drink alcohol or do drugs; I overslept because of a recent medication change. With me doing the best I can to be responsible in all areas of my life I am shocked that I am turned away for simply over sleeping one time.

This is a review i wasn't sure I was ever really going to write. Note that I was a patient at the…read morewest office before they moved to the current location. So it would have been from 2020-2022 I believe. I was in the process of getting braces as an adult which (for me) required trying to pull down an impacted adult tooth from my upper jaw. I saw the first oral surgeon at IOMSA in 2020 when he surgically attached the bracket to my impacted tooth. That surgery I believe went fine. However, a year or so later, when the impacted tooth still wasn't coming down with my braces, the Orthodontist sent me back to IOMSA for a 2nd oral surgery to have them move the bracket and remove "some more bone" from around the impacted tooth. I saw a different oral surgeon this second time. And I told her then that I didn't really want to keep trying to pull the tooth down. I would have rather just gotten the impacted tooth out surgically, and got on with my life. But she insisted that I keep trying to pull it down after opening my jaw up and looking at it. So she continued to move the bracket (as planned). However, she also continued to remove SO MUCH BONE from my jaw that it irreversibly damaged and ruined my mouth and teeth forever. After that surgery, the orthodontist kept telling me how unhappy she was with what they did to me. But I didn't fully understand the impact of it yet. And I was in alot of pain. More than was expected for that type of surgery. What I came to find out is that once that bone is gone, it's gone forever. You can't ever get that bone back in your jaw. So when the orthodontist was unable to pull down that impacted tooth even after the 2nd oral surgery, I was basically screwed. I had to have 3 or 4 bone grafts and tissue grafts to try and at least kind-of repair the damage, but it was never enough. I actually lost a perfectly good tooth adjoining the surgery site because of how much bone loss I had. The good tooth had become loose because the surgeon at IOMSA had removed SO MUCH bone from my upper jaw. And I almost actually lost two teeth (and that was according to yet another oral surgeon at IOMSA who thought he couldn't save either of them). So I went to see a different oral surgeon at that point (outside of IOMSA) as well as a periodontist who had to pull the loose tooth and was able to install two implants in my mouth, but it was really hard for him to do so because of how little bone I had. After getting the final implant crowns from my general dentist last week, he commented on how shocked he was that the periodontist was able to do the implants at all given how little bone I have left. So, my mouth/teeth are FOREVER messed up because of what the surgeon at IOMSA did to me. My teeth will never be straight and i have so much visible damage from that surgery still to this day. The implants sit high up in my jaw because there was no where else for them to go.

In the last few years I had a list of dental procedures that needed to be dealt with. I went to…read morewest 10 dental group for most of these issues and they are AMAZING. I had a root canal done by an endodontist in avon that they recommend and he made my procedure completely painless...ever let me use his phone so I could listen to music. These people take pride in the profession. I will start with the consult. 1st the front office staff is very sweet and knowledgeable about insurance. I appreciate that bc I'm in that line of work. When I went in for consult the rooms seemed small and not as sterile and I would have though. I specifically asked if I would be put under. I was told that was absolutely unnecessary due to the ease of the procedure. I explained that I have very high anxiety not just with dentists but in all things, I have a low pain tolerance, and most meds don't work on me. Normally I have to get 2-3 times the amount of numbing agent to get me numb, pain pulls I have to take double. I explain this in hopes that they will use this to consider what procedure is best for me. They tell me that I will have sedation treatment. Basically a pill and I assumed laughing gas. Ok surgery day come...I'm freaking out. I tell the front desk girl I only took one of my pills which was correct. Go back. They can tell I'm nervous but tell me I'll be fine. I get asked if my right side it being removed. Uh.. no I look over and they have another women file out. She leave this out for me to look through while she goes to figure out what is going on. HIPPA violation! Dr comes in puts the chair back and starts to numb me. I start getting nervous and ask if I can take pill 2. He laughs and tells me that's pointless bc it won't kick in in time. Side note....WHY WASN'T I TOLD TO TAKE BOTH BEFORE I WENT BACK. The point of this was to help with nerves. I starts using the numbing needles, he was rough and seemed rushed. Poked me in the lip and blamed me for it. I'm crying and my breathing is starting to scare me. They give me water to take 2nd pill. My dad walks in and in shaking so bad I can't get the cup to my face. We watch a video and he leaves. The nurse checks to see how I'm doing. I tell her bad. I'm not numb all the way and I'm having a panic attack. She gets the dr. Who tells me we will start with one and if I don't like it we will stop. Uhhhh no just get it over with. Where is laughing gas? Nope they don't use it. So dr. Gets started pokes my gum...I feel nothing. Goes to rip out my tooth. I felt that!!! He give a small shot and those right back on. It takes time for that to work. So he goes back to try and pull my tooth. I about come put of the chair bc of pain. He gets upset and says reschedule so u can go under. I told them I would be back. Dr. Howard is rude, inconsiderate of patients needs, and always seems rushed. Easy to him isn't going to be easy for me and maybe he needs a refresher ok that topic. Now I have teeth I don't need, a partially numb mouth...no good, and a sore tooth bc you tried yanking it out and nothing to help with that pain. I WILL NEVER BE BACK. LEARN BED SIDE MANNER, MAKE NOTES FROM CONSULTS SO YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON, AND HEY MAYBE THROW IN SOME DAMN COMPASSION. Oh and at the end they asked why I didn't do the full sedation...thought it was bc I couldn't afford it. Uhm... well I tried and 3 of you told me it would be a waste of time. But the waste of time was me taking a day of work and needing a ride bc you think a pill is going to make me unable to drive. Thanks!!! I was so upset with the way I was treated my doctor howard. You don't treat ppl that way

I scheduled my son's first dental appointment with this location over the phone and it went well…read more They asked for my son's insurance and set up a time for him to been seen for his first dental experience with them. When we arrived they basically told us that my son, who's a minor, can't be seen unless he had a photo identification. They never mentioned that over the phone and it wasn't on the welcome email we received the day prior. It's a huge inconvenience to drive all the way back home to get an id for a minor. Instead of wasting time and gas that could've been obtained on the next visit or sent via email. I had to drive all the way back home just for my son to keep his dental appointment. After that, they took forever to see my son. Because things weren't running smoothly, I went to the to desk to make sure that his cleaning was going to be performed as we requested when we set the appointment over the online receptionist and sure enough, it was NOT in the notes! Please know that these commercial offices lack communication with the 3rd parties that schedule these appointments. Another sign of unprofessionalism: While waiting in the lobby area, the receptionist basically told another patient that his bill is past due and she shared his balance for all of us to hear. They would see him today but after that they couldn't until he paid his. He tried to explain his case but after that exchange I knew this was NOT the place we needed to patronize. This is something that should be discussed in another room. I was embarrassed for him and his wife. My son's appointment was at 8:15 am and he wasn't seen until 8:50. They took X-rays and now I'll have to come back for his cleaning. Because this is where they take his insurance we will come back for the cleaning but after that, we are not coming back for anything else. It so hard to find good service and offices that respect the privacy of the patient and our time. Unfortunately we have to go where the insurance tells us and it's hard to pick where you want to be see I could share more but overall the experience was horrible. After seeing the doctor it was nothing but charges and things they can charge us for. WITH insurance they wanted to charge $200+ dollars for a cleaning. Never again. I'd rather take him to my dentist because at least there we won't be treated like another patient they can make money off of.

If you challenge things they want to charge you for, beware, they will argue, lie, personally…read moreinsult you and gang up on you! The "dentist" being the most unprofessional "doctor" I have ever had the misfortune to come across. Admits not telling me I have 2 cavities behind my 2 front teeth (because I don't) because he wanted me to pay $900 for 3 fillings I didn't need! I only wanted the filing closing the gap between my 2 front teeth replaced, period!! I've had this done MANY times with no problem! He says he put a plan together without telling me because he shouldn't have to "dummy it down" for me. I don't think telling me "you have 2 cavities" is dummying anything down! He never told me, because I DO NOT HAVE 2 CAVITIES there' They wanted to charge me for a FREE routine cleaning! I'm SO SO glad I found this out before I had any work done. They just want your money! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
