I had never tried Puerto Rican food before I went to Jandy this past summer. My brother from another mother Danny is Puerto Rican and wanted my wife and I to try the food of his culture, so we did. It was amazing. Jandy is a small establishment that you'd probably never even find unless you knew it was there. Because of COVID, indoor seating is currently unavailable. But, we took our food to a local park and enjoyed it there. Sadly, I don't know all the names of the foods we ate, but I can tell you that we tried several different things at Jandy and everything was absolutely delish. If you've never had Puerto Rican food, I highly recommend going to Jandy and giving it a try. If you have tried it before, then Jandy is the perfect place to indulge in the food that you love.

Nice and friendly people working here and good authentic food. Also a little store inside that sells PR knick knacks. We enjoy going there.

The neighborhood and the restaurant itself are run down, but OH. MY. LAWD the food is sooooo good…read more When I called to order take out, my hope was to have five things in my order. But, the menu I was looking at online wasn't accurate, so I was only able to order two dishes. Even so, I am not mad about it. First, when we went in to get our order, the lady helping us was the same lady who took our phone order. She somehow remembered us and apologized for the wrong menu being on Google. Pro tip: their most up-to-date menu is on Facebook. I then spent a full 7 minutes salivating during the car ride home because the food smelled so amazing. I ordered the medium combination with cod, yellow rice, and beans. The cod had a slight fishyness to it which married well with the rice and beans. The fish was cooked a little on the drier side which works well with the entire meal, most especially the very saucy beans. I would absolutely get this again. The medium pepper steak combination was delish and I could really taste the adobo flavor. The texture was perfectly well-done. The medium size combination dishes are YUGE and will probably provide us with two meals. I've had authentic Cuban/Puerto Rican food in NYC, LA, and Chicago and am beyond thrilled that Syracuse also has a place for me to get my fix.

She brought us Cucumber water which was absolutely delicious. She told us about specials and about ordering tapas. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. It was a fantastic pour and the light fruitiness of the wine was perfect for the big flavors of the food we were about to explore. Bacon Wrapped Jalepenos. Sometimes I can't handle spice but I'm so glad we ordered these. They were balanced perfectly with all the ingredients and the poblano sour cream dip so that you could taste the flavors and a little heat but it cooled quickly. These "poppers" were crispy and way better than battered and fried! Grilled Asparagus Aranchini. If you don't like Asparagus, try them anyway. It is not an overpowering flavor in this dish. I usually eat aranchini with a tomato sauce but the Lemon Beurre Blanc it was served with was absolute perfection. Shrimp & Grits. Perfectly cooked shrimp topped the most delicious cheesy Grits. Bacon and Scallions put this dish right over the top. Portobello & Truffle Flatbread. Portobello mushrooms, goat cheese, Truffle oil, and arugula. Flavor Bomb! We had our eye on dessert too but apparently we ordered too much food. We were both so stuffed! Marianne checked in with us several times and kept refilling our waters before they were needed. She was one of the best servers I've had in a long time. It had been many years since I've been to Laci's. I can assure you I will go back much sooner this time.

The food was great, potatoes Bravas were good but needed a different sauce. Bacon wrapped jalapenos still amazing. The Bistro Steak was cooked perfectly at medium rare. Salsa added to the flavor. Some heat in the salsa for flavor extra yummy. Steak was excellent. Service at the bar by, Ashley attentive and friendly. Laci's is in an old building that has seating at tables or bar seating. It is a great facility. Lots of history. Upstairs offers a place for private events. Parking in back or on the street. Worth a try, especially if you like sharing various dishes to try. Ps this review is with the current owners. Not under Laura and Cindy's ownership .

We weren't disappointed. We sat at the bar this time - Outstanding bar and ambiance. We met a very excellent bar man who made us some outstanding cocktails. I had two most excellent gin martinis. We started with the mushrooms and fried egg. Outstanding like the first time. We had the wood fired filets for our main. We had a dessert this time. It was a flourless chocolate creation that was sumptuous. Once again, an outstanding meal. I really love this place.

I was the only returning patron, the others much enjoyed their first time here. Walking through the front door you're instantly hit with a wonderful smell of food cooking over an open fire. Got a terrific table to look out the window and enjoyed a nice evening view. Took full advantage of every food meal course available. Started out with their evening appetizer of homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Each of us got our own dinner choice along with small plates to start. The two small plates were green lentil salad and ember roasted carrots. Both of them with their unique flavor and style. The green lentil salad featured heirlooms. The ember roasted carrots featured labrieth, doqqa, and maple syrup. Keep in mind everything here comes from local farms and local breweries and distilleries. Big fan of supporting the state and local community. Fantastic! They feature only a few main entrées, tonight's included halibut, steak, chicken, and sea Island peas with jasmine rice. Knowing how well seasoned their steaks are, I went with a filet mignon 10 ounce. Probably a little more than I should've gotten, but I very rarely eat steak and know how well and good they are here. Ordered the steak medium to medium rare and that's exactly how it came out. Mouth watering delicious. Along with the steak includes mashed potatoes, chimichurri, kale, and. crème fraiche. Every bite was outstanding. One of us got ice cream for dessert which she said was very good. The ice cream was made right there at the restaurant. We kicked off the dinner with a rum cocktail and a tequila cocktail. All spirits locally sourced. If you haven't tried it here yet you should. You will not be disappointed.
