I was intrigued by the "hang out & make art" sign in the window and decided to stop by after lunch. As I walked in, I was immediately welcomed by The Decemberists' sweet musical embrace. One of my favorite bands playing? How did they know! And it just ended up being the sweetest little art shop. Queer-friendly (and queer-owned, I found after googling later on!) with local art for purchase and a wide variety of art supply mediums. I wish I'd had more time to check out the studio/"maker art" side of the shop, because it looked wonderful. I will absolutely make a special trip over the next time I'm passing through Whidbey.

I, ironically enough, had watched the movie on the flight across the country to the PNW! I was wandering the shop and saw numerous Practical Magic movie items, like sweatshirts, mugs, stickers and more! I snagged a couple of decals- one with a salt shaker, a rosemary sprig, lavender bunch & a heart to celebrate the quote from the movie- Always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder, Keep rosemary by your garden gate, Plant lavender for luck, And fall in love whenever you can. I saw the sticker and recited the quote in my head while continuing around the store. The lady at the register confirmed my suspicion & the same building I was in had been the bath shop for Sally's character! I walked outside and saw the small, downtown street in a completely new way.
